Hi everyone! I've just finished recording up a new original song, and am so excited to share it with you all :-) 

Inspired by my sister-in-law's magical wedding and a good friends' journey through pregnancy, this song is a celebration of all those big moments in life - the ones that take our breath away when we finally reach them. Life's precious moments go by so quickly, and this song is all about just being in the moment.

My boys out at Aramoana beach - it's such an amazing spot, towering cliffs right next to the ocean, and huge sand dunes all the way along. Love it out there! :-)

Hello :) Its been quite sometime since I've posted here! I've been trying to juggle life as a working mum...its one hard balancing act (especially after seven years at home raising my babies!) 

I wanted to share this clever little number with you. The up-lifting track and clever puppetry, meant I was completely captivated for the entirety of the track .Even If you're not the biggest Coldplay fan, I'm sure you'll appreciate the charming clip. My children were spell-bound!

I used to be a primary school teacher, but for the past few years have been a full-time mum. I love music, and whenever I get a spare moment I work on my own original songs.

'Still, Still, Still' - a Christmas Tune

A while back, +Kate Butson and myself set out to collaborate on a Christmas song.  We had folks throw out suggestions and got lots of great ideas.  We chose the song 'Still, Still, Still', a beautiful song that is not covered all that much outside the classical realm.  

I think you'll agree that Kate performed it beautifully, and that her voice is addictive. I added a bit of instrumentation, a few harmonies, and really love how it all came together.

In any case, we both wish you a Merry Christmas, a very Happy Holidays, and look forward to sharing more music with you in the new year!

Wow, the +Artists In The Plus  Music Festival was amazing! I was so proud to be involved, and just want to thank +John Voshell for being so amazing throughout the event. Marathon effort John, great stuff!!

I thought it was going to be incredibly intimidating to perform right after the super talented +HEATHER FAY but her songs were so peaceful and her voice so soothing I immediately relaxed. What a beautiful soul she is.

Also, it was so lovely to meet +George Miller and +Diane Cobb in the +Lets Talk About It interview - had a blast talking to you guys!

To everyone that tuned in throughout the event - thank you! Can't wait to see you all at the next one :-)

ORIGINAL SONG - 'MISERABLE ME'

My next original is done!

This song was actually inspired by a TV series I was totally hooked by and finished watching recently, where one of the main characters had an amazing life and wonderful people right in front of her, but could never find happiness. I think she felt like she deserved more than life was giving her...thankfully, her eyes were eventually opened.

The moral of the story? The grass will always be greener...we should never take life for granted, and we should always be thankful for everything we have! :-)

This gorgeous old (neglected!) building, built in the late 1800s, is just down the road from my house. I often walk past it and dream of taking it on as a restoration project. For now it's just in my dreams, but one day...you just never know!

Imagine writing music looking out those front windows - totally inspiring :-)

I am totally IN LOVE with everything about Christmas. Apart from having to share the day with the odd (literally) extended family member, its just ☆MAGICAL☆.

Here's last years Christmas card. I love that it captured my eldest's quiet wisdom, and my youngest's total insanity! They couldn't be more different!

Tomorrow is December 1st here in New Zealand... hasn't the year flown by?!

This little girl knew that music was always going to be a big part of her life.
 
She had a vivid imagination, and as young as 4 started coming up with her own little songs. She didn't know that writing these in her theory book was a big no no! Her music teacher scolded her for it, and she stopped writing.

Her first performance, at the age of 5, was to a full audience in a singing competition at a school hall. She sang, but with her BACK to the audience! She won. After that, she submitted to the guidance of the 'all-knowing' adults around her. She spent the next 15 years training operatically (something she really didn't like), being shut down whenever she suggested exploring anything else, competing in singing competitions, and ultimately neglecting the passion for exploring her own voice in the way she wanted to.

I love this song, and it's been near the top of my cover to-do list for a while now. Rhianna has an amazing voice, and I loved the challenge of singing a song from a vocalist with such range!

Needless to say I didn't attempt the rapping part :-) I've tried to put my own stamp on it in other ways instead - hope you like it! :-)

Here's a circle of fun musicians you can add to your circles. The majority of these musicians are very interactive on G+ and many play live in Hangouts On Air including G+ shows such as +Artists In The Plus and +That Show with Billy Wilson (TSBW). Instagramming out on the Otago Peninsula today. Such a beautiful spot, one of my favourite places to spend time. Quaint little historic rock walls line the winding, scenic road that eventually leads to a Castle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larnach_Castle). I still pinch myself that this is my back yard, and only 5 minutes from my home!

So many people work tirelessly for others, and you need to know about +John Voshell and his +Artists In The Plus. He spends all of his time for others and has dedicated himself to helping all musicians on Google+

Now that you know that, let me add a few things: he has always been about doing this since he started on Google+; he's always been one of our biggest supporters over at +FRIDAY NIGHT SESSIONS; he helps us all by discovering and promoting musicians and bands all over the world; and he's a damn fine guy who I've personally met and will vouch for.
