Parlay; If a player approaches stalemate with an adversary, he has the right to declare parlay, or temporary protection, until he has an audience with the adversary or their captain.
At this point neither his portals/fields etc can be harmed. Parlay is not considered concluded until said players and captains have completed negotiations.

Family comes out of storm cellar after May 20th Tornado in Moore Oklahoma

I admire the calmness with which this Oklahoman surveyed the damage around him as he emerged from a storm shelter, finding complete devastation.

Mmmmm new design. Certainly makes the appearance more consistent with the iPad app. I quite like it. I still wish they'd get the unified messaging organised, I still can't see group chats on G+ Messenger for mobile on the desktop app. But all up, it looks really nice :) #newgoogleplus   #io13

Well worth a look, and take note that dairy has been significantly decreased because it can increase prostrate cancer risk and possibly ovarian cancer. +Ingress I've been trying to think of a simple means of displaying inventory totals, and I think a quick and simple implementation would be as follows. Under Ops > Items > Item Filter, add the number in brackets beside each filter entry. E.g.

ALL (total number of items)
Media (total number of media)
Mods (total number of mods)
Portal Keys (total number of portal keys)
Power Cubes (total number of power cubes)
Resonators (total number of resonators)
Weapons (total number of weapons)

It would also be useful to perhaps have voice prompts similar to XM levels to warn when you're getting close to full inventory, so you can easily manage it before you hit 2k.

And here is a direct link partway into Ingress Report 7. I've linked directly to the juicy bit. Two new items are going to appear, very rare, called the Jarvis Virus (for EN) and ADA Refactor (RE). These will apparently allow you to infect an opposition portal and literally 'flip' it to your faction. It remains to be seen as to whether it transfers along any links and flips connected portals - that would be pretty awesome! ;)

This section is specifically my review of the Canterbury Earthquakes Royal Commission Final Report, looking for aspects of relevance to information management of buildings. I've got another two, possibly three, of these lined up to do in the very near future that will include the NZSEE, Griffiths/McNulty and Lizundia reports.

FYI +Lee Jenkins (Enlightened) and I (Resistance) have recently been nominated and accepted into a global Ingress Leadership Roundtable. This is to provide New Zealand representation within a large cross-faction group of individuals that manage Ingress communities, provide support, and deal with associated issues.

The purpose of this group is just to have a place to discuss challenges that the active helpful members of any regional community will have, and get good advice and ideas. But if other purposes are identified and developed as we move forward, that is great.  It was created for people who are active in regional communities who could use advice and support from other active members, This is not based on their game level or title rather please invite based on whether they are helping in the community who can benefit from support and advice in resolving issues or sharing ideas.

+Ingress Is there any chance we can see duplicate portals triaged more quickly and removed sooner? It is awesome that you're bringing sooooo many new shinys out so quickly, but I'm finding that more duplicates seem to be slipping through. I submitted a duplicate report a couple of weeks ago, and haven't seen or heard anything. Have also requested another 6 or so to be removed (as duplicates) today. Four of these were duplicates of a single sculpture! Otherwise, keep up the awesome work approving portals! #Ingress   #PortalProcess   #MoarPortalsNearlyEveryDayNow !

What's cool about this? I tracked 191km 201km walked in the month of April, just about all of it playing +Ingress ;) My previous best months have been around 75km walking. I've set myself a goal of walking 250km in May! (Walking is burgundy, purple is cycling and green jogging.) #Ingress   (turns out I did get to 200km walked, the phone hadn't synced my last 10km walk last night ;)

o 96 published portals - oh so close to 100. Next portal dump will hopefully tip me over the ton! :)
o 10 rejected as duplicates, and 8 rejected for not meeting the requirements

It's a collection of statements of the 2 hours of chat and if someone has the wish to do a TL;DR out of it I will edit it up here.

- reddit is closely monitored as well as the social channels (G+, twitter)
- target: 1 billion users (for all Niantic projects together)
- AP deduction for IITC-usage was a hoax (he thinks)
- they do not look for tos violations but if someone comes to them and asks if it is ok to do this (IITC) they feel they have to tell them that it is a TOS violation and they have to tell them to stop
- API is in the works, but "they want to do it right the first time"
- API (in the final version) will enable players to create missions, have all player data and realtimedatamore »

I swear, I've given so many directions to tourists whilst playing +Ingress in town, I reckon I need a jacket (winter is coming down here) that says "Google Maps Guide". Must have directed at least three groups tonight just whilst farming! Reminds me of when I did an internship in DC in 2002, wearing a DC Government shirt, and American tourists visiting their nations capitol would stop me and ask for directions and I'd happily reply - in my broadest Kiwi accent of course. My first "Ingress Cache" is due to be deployed today at a portal submission spot I've been eyeballing. The coordinates will be broadcast to my local G+ community and will include the following:

The spot I've chosen is no stranger to odd looking activity due to the munzee and multiple geocaches around it.

+Ingress Is there any chance that in-scanner Bad Location reports can be triaged to near the top of the submission/review queue? Whilst it is awesome having all these new portals coming online, it would be great to have portal locations fixed in a timely manner :) 

I've submitted quite a few Bad Locations, some as early as when the feature was made available in the Scanner, but still no portal movement.

I'd much rather wait a little longer for new portals, if it means we can fix the location of existing portals first.

Coming back to +Jason Craig's earlier discussion about ANZAC Day, I came up with the following idea today. For many war memorials, they look their absolute best at ANZAC Day. My thought is that, if you want to do something, even little, perhaps try and take an updated photo that includes the wreathes and flowers, etc. Naturally, use your judgement as to when is the best time to take a photo. But I think it would be pretty cool to capture a lot of these memorials and cenotaphs looking their best :)

Proposing an Auckland Ingress Rampage
For Labour Weekend, October 26-28, 2013

There will be quite a few geocachers in town for New Zealand's second Mega geocaching event. An increasing number of geocachers also play Ingress, so it is quite likely we'll see an appreciable uptick in Ingress activity on Labour Weekend. Wondering if perhaps we can promote this as a weekend for other Ingress players to consider travelling to Auckland, and making quite the rampage out of the long weekend? :)
