Cemeteries can be such interesting places to explore - so much history. I would love to know the stories behind some of the people's gravestones.

I went out to the west coast beach to catch the sunset after work. The kahawai were running , giving the surf casters a lot of action. The wind was howling, causing huge waves to break out on the sand bar on the horizon.

+Scott Jarvie asked people to share their favourite image.
This was one was from my first ever photowalk and I didn't really know what I was doing but felt excited about the possibilities. This fellow was a moving man and he and his companion had struggled to get this mirror into the back of the truck.
Pausing he glanced into the mirror and I love it because it looks and though it is just he and his reflection holding up the mirror and admiring one another.
That image while technically not great really gave me that excitement for capturing the moment that keeps me in photography.

I think this week is #LighthouseThursday curated by +Heiko Köster
This is Whatipu lighthouse that guards the mouth of the Manukau Harbour. It shines across the Manukau Bar the scene of New Zealand's worst maritime disaster when the HMS Orphesus foundered on the bar in 1863 with a loss of 289 lives.
