For kids, a day at the beach is still a day at the beach, even in winter.
Wrapped up in jackets & hats, the kids always enjoy an afternoon out & about 

To me, this picture captures a fundamental nature of this my son , just wandering along, no hurry, no worries :)

This is 100% processed on my Canon 600D using the built in creative filters.
I usually forget there is some built in tools athat can produce some good effects without the need to do extensive post processing.

I've recently discovered a Linux based equivalent to Lightroom called Darktable. While its not quite as user friendly to use and many of the recent features released in Lightroom are not there, it seems to be a good alternative for Linux users that cannot utilise Lightroom.... its also free.

Anyway, that said, here is an image of my moggie that I just processed using Darktable and I'm quite happy with the results so far.
