Wow, something from MS that actually works and might be useful if you're developing web apps on Windows.. Built in support for NodeJS and NPM, LESS/SASS, CoffeeScript, extensions, etc...

I've been waiting for something like this for a long time... Doing stuff in Fireworks and then having to translate it to CSS is a pain.

The web is about to get very interesting indeed with real-time communication in a few lines of JS. P2P video calling and screen-sharing without plug-ins!

Hopefully be able to say bye-bye to the clunky Skype and Gotomeeting desktop apps and hello to their superior HTML5 web app equivalents.

Eek..
tl;dr Using JS to do image replacement of already downloaded standard res images with high-res versions. The total size of the page goes from 502.90K to 2.13MB.

These photographs by the Google car, and from Google Street View, are blowing my mind.

There's something so raw about them. Each of the random moments which are captured are so entirely natural, and human, and give us a glimpse into our world, as a whole. The photos here have been curated into by Jon Rafman an exhibit and book which you can find here: http://9-eyes.com/

Wow, just wow.

"The environmental activists drove their cars just like everyone else, and they consumed transported goods and benefitted from sperm oil based lubricants in a myriad other ways, sustaining the demand. It was not their attention grabbing activities that stopped killing whales, but the unsung efforts of chemists finding a synthetic replacement to sperm oil. Meanwhile, human lives were lost through multiple transmission failures."
