AJ Durling05) The fifth of today's circle shares - G+ ChristiansThese are people who, from time to time, share some useful, edifying, thought-provoking and amusing musings on Christianity. Most of them simply add these nuggets into already interesting streams on many other subjects, too.Again, if you like this, feel free to share it. If not, feel free to ignore it.Notable mentions: +Tim Young  +BJ Hewitt +Kevin Minnett +Brian Hoch +James Shiels +Theophilus Ibn Iakobos +Tre Lawrence +Justin Reeve +Keith Tackel  +Jeff Abel +Aaron Downs +Jorge Bessa +K.C. AJ Durling294This is a bonus circle, and is actually pretty much where I started when I was creating my first circles - Top 500 PlussersIt is the people with the highest number of users - and is actually now only 308 people. When I first collected the Top 500 Plussers on Google+, I spend a lot of time weeding out the people whose posts in which I didn't particularly have an interest (e.g. almost all of the photographers - nothing against people who post photos to G+, it's just me: this is Google+, not Flickr; people who only ever promote themselves - so quite a lot of the pop musicians). The list that is left are people who, I think, actually contribute to the stream. You may find some surprising choices (Dolly Parton?! Actually, yes!). But I hope you enjoy it.I've kept the name Top 500 even though it is a lot fewer than 500. I like the irony... #circleshare   #sharedcircles   #celebrity   #topcircles  2012-10-19 15:06:56307302CC G+
AJ Durling06) Number six, and the final circle share of the day, the favourite of my circles - Best of BritishThe homeland plussers; mostly interesting people, with a handful of interesting brand pages. If you like this, feel free to share it; if you don't, feel free to ignore it.Notable mentions: +Steve Jaszczak +Pete Graham +Jolyon Walker +Alastair Preacher +Chloe Crouch +Ruth Wood +Edward Hartwell Goose +Sandrine Pitiot +Lucky Charmz +Bruce Boulton +Dave Palmer +Mick SLM +Viki Fairweather +Marcus East +Bal Sangeezer +Antony Pace +Matt Rose +Russell Heilling +Julian White2012-10-19 15:05:044072919CC G+
AJ Durling02) Second on my list of circles to share - Android NewsPerhaps of more directly relevant interest to the mobile Plussers amongst us, this is a collection of predominantly company pages, but with some notable personal accounts, distributing interesting, breaking or otherwise mainstream-overlooked Android news, tips, tricks and discussions. If you like it, share it. AJ Durling0So, it's a good day to share circles. Here goes:1) The first of today's circle shares - Social Media'ersThese are people who are either influential and informative in the world of social media (including SEO), or actually demonstrate "good" social networking brilliantly in their Google+ posts and social interactions. If you like this, feel free to share it. If not, feel free to ignore it.I hope you find these connections useful, or at least interesting!Notable mentions: +Thomas Morffew +Max Huijgen +Linda Lawrey +Mike Elgan +Johnny Roquemore +Amanda Blain +Dan Soto +Jessica Northey +Thomas Power +Shamil Weerakoon +Chris Lang +Michael Q Todd +Yifat Cohen +Jesse Stay +Denis Labelle +Irene Koehler +Chris Hoeller +2012-10-19 15:00:0545927CC G+
Martijn van der Meulen4,273Looking for other Nexus owners? Don't fret! Two days ago I started a search for people that love their Nexus device. Hardware that's made in close collaboration with Google, and that provides the Android experience the way it's meant to be experienced. I found quite a few people and curated the Circle, just to make sure you're only adding the best of the best to your personal stream here on Google+.Please add and share this Circle. Yesterday morning, I was standing with my family outside York Minster as we, and many others around us, observed a minute’s silence in memory of the fallen. In the middle of this, my three year old son wanted to know what was going on and (because he is three) “why”. I (very quietly) tried to explain it to him, in terms that a three year old boy could understand. In doing so, I thought about how complicated and serious it all is – and how important it is to us all, even now, to keep in mind those who still give their lives in the line of duty, and about how we need to impress this seriousness upon the younger generation. I don’t really know what he took from it all but, over time (and with enough “remembrance”), hopefully he will grasp it, as we all should. T’was the night before New Year… and Clare and I have decided that we have seen more than enough midnights’ this year to last us for a very long time; if we have the choice, I think we are going to choose sleep instead (just as soon as we have all three children asleep… which, let’s face it, could still be well after midnight!). In the optimistic event that we are, in fact, asleep before 12 – Happy New Year! I hope you are able to make your 2014 successful and exciting.

YouView - does anyone have a good thing to say about them?

This isn't just a rant (well, it is a rant, but not just a rant). I genuinely would like to know if anyone likes YouView technology, as I am bitterly disappointed.

Until recently, I was using a +Virgin Media V+ box - great technology, did everything we wanted, but a bit expensive for what it is, and I wasn't using a fraction of the services that I was paying for. Before that, I had been using Sky+  - same again. I decided that, considering most of the TV I watch is available on freeview, I didn't need pay-for-TV, but I still really want to keep my PVR and catch-up/on-demand TV, so I decided to look at a +YouView TV  box because... well, there isn't really anyone else, is there?

So, it all started after I bought my Humax DTR-T1000, directly from +HUMAX, in December. Plugged into HDMI, set itup,... more »

Whovians: To celebrate 50 years of Dr Who, we’ve put together this neat little roadtrip, taking in some of the memorable filming locations of the iconic BBC series: starting at Neath Abbey (appears in The Beast Below and is approximately half an hour’s drive west of Cardiff), moving to a pub in Llandaff (aka the village of Leadworth in the series, is used frequently in the series with the Cathedral Green taking centre stage in the Matt Smith opener The Eleventh Hour),  Victoria Park, (the park in Canton and it's bandstand appears in numerous episodes), Roald Dahl Plass, Cardiff Bay (location of the rift and also the Torchwood Hub - appears in many episodes and the opening title sequence of Torchwood), and finishing up at 'The Doctor Who Experience' in Cardiff.

Feeling classy?

Try out our Downton Abbey locations tour: Start at the Blue Bell railway where you can enjoy afternoon tea and a scenic journey on a real steam train. You’ll be travelling along the same line that was used for scenes when Bates first came to Downton and see the station where Mary gives Matthew a lucky charm. Then drive on to take lunch and tour around the house and grounds of Highclere Castle ("Downton Abbey"), before ending at Bampton village, used as the setting for Downton village and where you’ll see locations such as the hospital, post office, local pub, church and the home of the Crawleys are situated. It’s all terribly civilized.
