Polarr Photo Editor for Android

After having tested the beta for +Polarr on Android over the past few days, I can confidently say that this is the most robust image editor for mobile. While +Snapseed has been my editor of choice for the past several years, it is missing major features for image editing such as Tint, RGB Curves, Spit Toning and namely, saving your own custom presets. All of these are present in Polarr ...and it weighs in under 1.5 MB.

The UI might take some getting used to, but once you get familiar, you will see how useful the side menus are at keeping your image front and center. If you do more than casual filters and crop on your mobile device, definitely install this.

I am pinging a few of you with this post as I know you may edit photos on your Android as much as I do.

Resurrected Galaxy S3 running Android 5.1 Lollipop

The Galaxy S3 stopped getting OTA updates at 4.4 (I think) and the older version of TouchWiz had become so slow and unresponsive, it was unusable. After getting my #Note4  in December 2014, the S3 went into my office storage bin designated for obsolete mobile devices.

With the +LiquidSmooth Lollipop Rom installed and keeping the S3 only loaded with some core +Google apps the phone is plenty fast and serves as a perfect kiosk type device for Hangouts using voice, video and messaging over WiFi or tethered to my Note 4 during travel.

Cost of Living in America

It's not just you – lots of people are struggling to make ends meet in America. And it's not just because of debt. The cost of living in America is remarkably high in many of its major cities, especially when compared to the median income of its citizens. This infographic takes the cost of groceries, housing, utilities, and more in cities across the 50 states and compares them to the national average. It also compares median income in many cities to the national average of $53,046.

No photos upload option, no map link, no business photos.. no tacos.

Where did the ability to add new reviews directly from our reviews tab go?

From the Reviews tab on my Google+ profile, I can see my reviews, but missing is how to create a new one. I began using it around the launch of the +Google Local Guides program which thus far has been amounting to trying to encourage more reviews so you can earn your way through levels. And the http://www.google.com/local/guides/ is useless. Sign up > oh you're already a member? > Start Reviewing > OK... takes you to blank Google Map. By design, of course.

Also:  a little house cleaning... the icon to the right of the number of reviews we have done (reviews tab on G+ profile) still points to the deprecated https://plus.google.com/local URL which then just redirects to Google+ By design, of course.

... come on man.

Imagine a Logical Fallacies course in the public school curriculum.

FALLACY REF is the best collection of memed logical fallacies in the history of memed logical fallacy collections.

I did some quick Google sleuthing and could not find the original source, but [EDIT] I have been told it is the creation of Glen Welch, to whom my sincerest thanks. (His originals can be found on Facebook, but please, be kind and don't break the internet if you visit his page!)

Now go. Share. Fill the internet with logic awareness. Future generations will thank you.

H/t to +Jane Skau for bringing this wonderfulness to my attention!

The songs that I wrote here were the simplest and clearest writing I'd done in my life, it was part of the goal. I just felt like I didn't want to write that script again for myself, about how complex things could be; I took it as complex as I could. My life sucked and I was very unhappy with that place, so I felt really like the music I was gonna write for this next record, which would dictate the whole next chapter of my life, needed to be based in simplicity and be really genuine. One of the first songs I wrote was 'Help I'm Alive'; it pretty much sums up the state I've been in since I came here, since I was honest with myself and accepted that I'm really scared and I don't know where my life is going and I don't know what I'm doing."

Here's the weird thing about search engines. It was like striking oil in a world that hadn't invented internal combustion. Too much raw material. Nobody knew what to do with it. You see, my competitors, they were fixated on sucking it up and monetizing via shopping and social media. They thought that search engines were a map of what people were thinking. But actually they were a map of how people were thinking.

Based on my average usage, the estimated 25% monthly cost savings benefit from a Powerwall installation would take 8 years for the investment to payoff at its $3500 price tag. It remains to be seen if there will be some tax incentives, or subsidies available.

That said, this is a beautiful thing. I could see this being a sole source in regions where power consumption needs are much lower than the average US household.
