Mind Mapping will be a great tool for story tellers such as marketers. This allows the user to create an outline around one idea in order to develop a story. I would personally use this! Take a look and see if this is something that you would use. This seems like it would cannibalize other Apple applications though. Do you think this is a smart business move?

This just gave me one more reason to make a visit to Dubai. They are looking to begin use of autonomous aerial vehicles, aka flying taxi drones, as early as July of this year. This has been coming for a while.

Crazy to think we live in a time where digital ad spend has surpassed TV advertising. Google (A.K.A alphabet) and industry leader Facebook have been growing like crazy! I can't wait to see how these companies continue to get creative in the digital world. ___This has been coming for a while.

Uber is starting to hit significant bumps in the road.

The FCC is having an interesting discussion on this very topic right now.

I agree with this article when it says that "cyberspace is a platform to exercise your rights." If you have a right to privacy in the natural world than likewise you should be able to have privacy in the cyber world. I think though that like police officers have the right to surpass certain rights in order to protect people. There should respectively be a secure, non-corrupt, trusted system of cyberspace officers that can surpass certain privacy rights of the people, simply to keep people safe.___The FCC is having an interesting discussion on this very topic right now.

This reflects our in-class discussion of student habits.

Ads have success on SnapChat. The reason this is I think is that SnapChat doesn't over saturate unwanted ads into the app. They have some that appear after some stories, but others are another page. SnapChat has the attention of the user because they are glued to the device of their cell phone and an ad that is presented in front of them will likely be viewed. The brands have stories that they have and it is impressive that 85% of those users that open the story will actually watch the whole thing. ___This reflects our in-class discussion of student habits.

A simplification is to think of apps as channels. The differences between channels are how finely you can target.

The technology for mobile marketing tools has not been rapidly increasing the same way mobile technology has been. The technology that the phones possess is much greater than that of the marketing applications that are being used. As history goes, once a brands hesitates updating media it is in for a fast decline.___A simplification is to think of apps as channels. Just like GetResponse I also think that social, mobile and email are the top places to focus digital marketing spending in 2017. If traditional advertising is falling and digital marketing is growing then I think that it is time that all business follow and invest more in digital marketing because they will get more traffic to their business.___Email is by far the best return on advertising investment.

I think Trump and politics may be driving people away from Twitter more than drawing them in.

Twitter had been an useful tool for companies to market their products. However, this year twitter revenue's and audience have decline. It seems that the revenue growth some how negatively affect the growth of the audience. Facebook video views are questionable in many ways. In particular, you don't have to watch a Facebook video very long for it to count.

Advertisers were concern with their ads on facebook because the users tend to watch them with the sound off. Facebook is also feeling pressure by snapchat because they reproduce 70% of their videos with sound. So now the companies are trying to come up with new formarts that will get people to choose to unmute the ad or video. Effectively a duopoly with Google still the dominant player

Over half of the digital advertising market is controlled by Google and Facebook. Will they maintain their market share? Will Snapchat eventually have a hefty piece of the pie? I think Snapchat caters to a niche market so I don't see them taking more than 10% market share but I do believe a new platform may come along to compete with the big dogs.___Effectively a duopoly with Google still the dominant player

Key question: Do you need a general purpose computer in your pocket?

Nokia and Blackberry have both announced that they will be releasing new phones this year. Blackberry is releasing a smartphone that runs on Android while Nokia is releasing one that is considered a basic phone! I believe Nokia's aim is at smartphone users who want to be less reliant on their device; an escape if you will. The Nokia 3310 will cost less than one hundred dollars (without a contract!) and boasts the same ultra long battery life as the original brick that was released 17 years ago. Nokia is taking an interesting approach here, however I think that Blackberry has lost their chance to compete in the ultra competitive smartphone market (at least they're running Android on it).___Key question: Do you need a general purpose computer in your pocket?

Games are a key marketing platform, and you would think UX was designed with games in mind.

I like this article because it talks about how making/selling a product is basically a body. No two parts do the same thing, or create the same value. In fact in order for some body parts to add value to the product the must have information collected by the UX Specialist. NOW this is not something we normally talk about but UX experience isnt solely about figuring out what the consumer wants but its also about making sure the designers are carrying out the vision of the consumers desires in their video game. I think that having an immerse experience in virtual reality will really bring more people to it instead of turning them away. Remember this: location matters, always. You either move to another location or make yours better. Note that many (if not all) of these hot areas are indeed located around universities. I'm not sure where the smartest people, but there's something about the university-area culture.

Good read! Many regions worldwide are trying to create their own Silicon Valley. "Having the right ingredients for innovation to flourish on a scale similar to Silicon Valley will take more than stealing the moniker." Not long ago, the smartest people came from universities, now they come from tech start-ups. Good point. Often, a big part of what makes interventions work is that more than one person is involved.

I think putting children in these situations are both risky and alleviating at points in time. This 360 degree screened wall or virtual reality system, is a great way for these children to overcome their phobias. I also think that having the child be accompanied by a psychiatrist to help them go through the situation is a good thing. It says that children get over their phobia within a year but who is controlling the situation after the psychiatrist is gone. Will the child really get over the phobia if their is no one to help them when they are by themselves? Just something to think about!___Good point. This is interesting. It should be noted that in some countries Siri defaults to a male voice. In other words, its culture dependent.

I'm not sure what to read into this. It's multidimensional.

It really is very interesting how most Virtual assistants voices are female! Alexa, Google Assistant, Cortona, and even Siri. The only product I use out of those is Siri, and I must say my Siri has an Australian male voice, but only because I took the time to change it. The voices of many bots are female voices by default, even though when we ask our assistants they claim they are genderless. It turns out research was done and a majority of all people prefer a female voice. Even though the majority prefers a female voice, a concern many have is they do not want consumers to think they think females are assistants. I propose a simple solution: like Apple offer alternative voices, and potentially even languages, this is a great way to also say you offer customization! ___This is interesting. A mega trend is that EVERYONE is moving to watching video on devices for a majority of their consumption. It then becomes a matter of using each platform's targeting tools to reach your target on that platform.

Interesting stat that I wasn't aware of is that black millennials watch more Youtube than any other millennial. The reason for this is they feel like they have a better voice on Youtube than traditional media. There are a lot of availability or diversity on Youtube which makes targeting for business important to make sure they can target the right diverse market. They also found that 70% of black millennials say that they are more likely to buy from a brand that takes a stance on race-related issues. ___A mega trend is that EVERYONE is moving to watching video on devices for a majority of their consumption. UX is not just digital. Many retail outlets are successfully incorporating digital into the in-store experience. See Apple and Amazon as prime examples.

Relevant article to poor UX. Family Christian Stores shutting all brick & mortar locations. Is this what is to come of all B&M stores because of a massive increase in E-commerce? It's not that CPUs are incompetent. It's that GPUs have an architecture that is better suited to certain machine learning algorithms.

Bringing your whole body into virtual reality would be so cool if you didn't have to use anything. Head sets right now are a must unless Zuckerberg creates glasses that are smaller, functional, and portable. Controllers are not a must tho. Mobile is the current mega trend

Banks are experimenting into using mobile phones and other available technologies as an alternative to using your ATM and/or Debit cards to withdraw funds from ATMs. Though there are several security issues that need to be worked out before it can be rolled out as a permanent option for accounts holders, I excited to see how this develops as they perfect the security flaws that come about.

Mind Mapping will be a great tool for story tellers such as marketers. This allows the user to create an outline around one idea in order to develop a story. I would personally use this!
