Warning: Apple's #Siri  is the queen of sass. Sure, Siri will help you find directions, play a song or set reminders for you. But there's another, grittier side to Apple's virtual assistant. Since Siri's 2010 debut, users have been discovering Siri's "Easter eggs" that the #Apple  engineers have hidden in the system. If you press hard enough, Siri will read you a nice bedtime story. But in most cases, "she" will give you sass and shut you down. #Eastereggs   #CookieMonster

There's a tendency to think nothing is made in the United States anymore. That couldn't be further from the truth, and it's partly thanks to people like Matthew Burnett. Burnett, 30, is the co-founder of Maker's Row, an online database that aims to connect American manufacturers with #entrepreneurs  from all over the world. The idea is simple: If you want to make something, you pay $20 a month to Maker's Row and you get access to a digital catalog of over 6,000 U.S. manufacturers. That includes contact info, reviews, photos and videos showcasing the factory's capabilities. It's a sort of searchable, sortable digital Yellow Pages for people who make stuff. #MakersRow   #MadeinUSA   http://cnnmon.ie/1dxznwU

You won't even notice it -- it will literally pass by in a second. But markets around the world are frantically trying to avoid a leap second that threatens to disrupt global trading on Tuesday. The extra second will take place at 8 p.m. ET on June 30 so that we can sync up our watches with the Earth's slowing rotation. But the 61-second minute threatens to make computer systems go haywire, potentially screwing up complex trades that can take place in a split second. #leapsecond   http://cnnmon.ie/1U0CC1o

Imagine never again having that frantic feeling that your #smartphone   #battery   is about to die. Amazingly, charging your phone may soon be a thing of the past: #Technology  companies are developing a way for your gadgets to power up while they're sitting in your pocket. By converting radio waves into battery-replenishing power, smartphones equipped with special receivers can literally pull energy right out of the air. It's not far-off in the future stuff -- the technology is making its way to the real world in a matter of months. http://cnnmon.ie/1Bypomj

The Apple Watch has only been out for three months. Obviously, that means it's time for rumors about what the next version will look like.
It's no secret that #Apple  is working on the next generation of the wearable hardware. The first-generation watch left much room for improvement. Plus, slowly doling out new features in gadgets keeps customers hungry for the latest upgrade. But what features are up next? #WiFi   #Facetime   #AppleWatch  http://cnnmon.ie/1J0FIME

John Calvin is a seemingly normal 24-year-old. He poses in selfies on #Facebook  and chats with his friends over #Snapchat . He lives in Edmonton, Canada, and attends church regularly. But here's what makes him different: Calvin, who is also #gay , comes from a family with ties to #Hamas  and is facing deportation on Nov. 4 -- what he says will be a "certain death." Calvin, who changed his name several years ago to protect his identity, identifies his grandfather as Said Bilal, one of the founding members of Hamas. His uncles have been linked to several suicide bombings, according to the Israeli authorities. http://cnnmon.ie/1IZEAcd

When I'm out to dinner on a date, and her phone lights up with a notification, am I allowed to peek? Is it fair game because she left her phone face-up on the table? Or am I snooping? There's always a temptation to look at a date's phone notifications. Is it a weather update or a text from another man?! The problem is that notifications are in plain view -- you don't even need to do anything sketchy to see them. What other #techtiquette  should you be paying attention to? #tech   #etiquette    http://cnnmon.ie/1Frx98I

The lack of gender and racial #diversity  within the #tech  industry is a problem that almost every Silicon Valley company is trying to solve.
Getting there will take time and money. But in the end, tech companies hope a more diverse workforce will result in bigger sales and profits. After all, engineers build gadgets and software for men, women and people of every color -- and a diverse workforce means a more expansive understanding of what customers want. #SiliconValley   http://cnnmon.ie/1Ga9P0V

#NBC 's Brian Williams, in his first interview since being suspended in February, said "ego" drove him to embellish stories about his reporting experiences. "I said things that weren't true," he told his colleague Matt Lauer in a taped interview on NBC's "Today" show. Exaggerations -- like one that put him on a helicopter that was forced down by enemy fire in Iraq, when in fact he was on a different chopper -- "came from clearly a bad place, a bad urge inside me," he said. "This was clearly ego driven, the desire to better my role in a story." #BrianWilliams   #TodayShow   http://cnnmon.ie/1G9W8PC

Call it the anti-Uber model. Office cleaning startup Managed by Q is taking a different approach to the service economy. "Q" -- as its employees refer to it -- takes a tech-enabled approach to cleaning. Its business customers rely on it to keep track of cleaning and office supplies, request handymen, and schedule cleanings. It's all managed via an iPad.
