I needed a giggle this morning and thanks to someone commenting on a very old post, I remembered something I had shared over a year ago!
So, sorry for anyone who has heard this story,
but I thought I would re-post it this morning
in case anyone else needed a giggle!
So... insert dreamy music
There I was,
sitting on a lawn chair beside my trailer
enjoying a very lazy afternoon camping in the mountains.
I was reading, and most likely sipping a beer minding my own beeswax...
Then the hairs on the back of my neck lift,
and I can feel something not quite right.
So I look around...
and I spot...
THAT.
THAT!! (point)
I sit very still and hold my breath and try to think of what to do.

Color calibration and profiling is one of the more misunderstood and ofttimes missing components in a photographer's digital workflow. And yet it's so easy and an incredibly important component for anyone who is moving beyond casual photography. Having all the devices in your digital workflow "see" color the same (from camera to monitor and/or laptop to projector to printer or your lab) is critical and will save you time and money (on wasted toner/paper or lab prints). I personally saw the Color Munki and i1 devices I use literally pay for themselves within a few months.
I work with the folks at Xrite-Pantone on the advertising side and as a very passionate photographer. They will be joining me this Sunday at 8:30pm EST for a Google + Hangout On Air to explain the whole calibration and profiling process so you can see how simple it is. We'll be taking questions liv... more »

One of the great perks of my job
is the fact I get to see all sorts of awesome details
people put into their homes.
I just LOVE the lights on the left,
and the one on the right even more!!
And how easy!
Just a light, some wires, some binder clips and LOVE NOTES!

One day last week the boys and I were trying to find a park to take a picture in. A very specific picture, and neither kid would agree to do it in a place where other kids were playing.
(it's going to be a great shot).
We drove around parks for quite awhile, but it was a gorgeous day, so they were all full. Then I thought about the park across the street from the home I grew up in.
So we get there and so many memories flooded back.
This is the house I grew up in.
From coming home from the hospital until driving off the driveway on my way to moving to Toronto the day I left home (with my Mom sobbing and waving goodbye)
I was so happy to see so many things were the same.
And even my grade one tree towered over the house!
And to my delight, the home owners saw me gawking and came out.
I introduced myself and I was invited in!!
