America's populist Dream Ticket?
        or too progressive to win?

Some say Bernie Sanders will need a more-centrist running mate to counterbalance him.  Or would a 'power-populist' team of Sanders/Warren be just the ticket to engage millions of fed-up voters in the election?

Here's a quick run-down of how they stand together on some of today's most pressing issues:

➤Cancel or reduce the burden of student loan debt
➤Pay equity for women
➤Ensure that billionaires and large corporations pay their fair share of taxes
➤Institute single-payer, universal health care for all
➤Break up banks that are 'too big to fail' and hold them accountable
➤Tax corporate polluters
➤Expand and strengthen federal social insurance programs (Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid)
➤Free collegeeducation for all qua... more »

All-too-prescient words from Republican Abraham Lincoln.
These words have all but been forgotten by today's corporate-bought politicians. The shining exception is presidential candidate +Bernie Sanders who can't be bought -- and who is fighting to bring back economic fairness to the USA.  The middle class is disappearing in our country; let's fight to get it back.

Stamp Money Out Of Politics!
This is a brilliant idea, and totally legal (tender)!  http://www.stampstampede.org/  h/t http://goo.gl/5fRiAx

Fewer than four hundred families are responsible for almost half the money raised in the 2016 presidential campaign, a concentration of political donors that is unprecedented in the modern era.

Each time you stamp a bill, each stamp will be seen by an average of 875 people. It's a great way to spread the message of how money has corrupted politics.  http://www.stampstampede.org/

And on that note (pun intended), here's Bernie Sanders, today , on the floor of the senate reminding us how we must replace our corrupt system of legalized bribery.  https://youtu.be/n9XB4lxUQ40

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain

from Bernie Sanders:
The corporate media spends enormous time and energy diverting our attention away from the most important issues facing us
➤"Climate change threatens the planet and we have a major political party denying its reality."
➤“Clearly, the struggle to create a nation and world of economic and social justice and environmental sanity is not an easy one."
➤“We must launch a political revolution which engages millions of Americans from all walks of life in the struggle for real change...This country belongs to all of us, not just the billionaire class.”

So, I say:  Time to rub the sleep out of our eyes, and get to work!!  Find out how you can join this movement here:  https://berniesanders.com/

Even Republicans Are Getting Tired Of The Right-Wing Media's BS

Americans are thirsty for an incorruptible, truth-telling alternative to slick, corporate-bought, media-driven candidates.

Could the combination of the authenticity of Bernie Sanders, and the slapstick side-show that is the Fox-birthed ReTrumplican Party be finally snapping America out of it's media-induced daze?  Has the dialog finally gotten so over-the-top crazy as to hasten the decline of the Republicans as a viable party?

Read how veteran Republicans are starting to see that the Fox 'News' media machine is hurting the party's chances in the 2016 election and beyond.   ☛  http://goo.gl/bQiqbc

This is the perfect moment for an incorruptible champion of the people. This is the perfect moment for Bernie Sanders.

Who's gonna choose our next president?  Us, or the billionaires?
Please consider throwing a buck or three to this incorruptible, un-buyable leader. He's working his heart out to make this country a better place. Let's show him that we've got his back, and that 'we the people'...not the billionaires and giant corporations....will choose who our next president will be.

Pass the word, our country is NOT for sale, and neither is +Bernie Sanders .

➤Free college education for all qualified students
➤Make it easier for workers to join unions
➤End the corrosive influence of Citizens United

Hmmmm, those seem like mainstream American positions to me!

My opinion is that a Sanders/Warren ticket would energize the American  public like no other team possibly could.  They both are incorruptible, powerful speakers with long records of advocating for ordinary Americans.  They both have masses of super-dedicated supporters who will turn out in droves to volunteer.  Could their synergy be unbeatable?

Our country is so demoralized, so cynical of the political process.  To counter this, we will need TWO politicians who are on the same-page, and support one-another's positions. I think this could be just the ticket to bring to fruition a true populist revolution in America!

What do you think?

This is not what it's all about.

Contrary to what it may seem at times, my goal with #mydailybernie   is not to incite pie fights and squabbles.

It's important to remember the reasons I am working hard for Bernie:    ( h/t to http://goo.gl/qL9xd9)

♦︎ I believe healthcare is a right, not something for only those who can afford it

♦︎ I believe #blacklivesmatter  and that we must fight harder than ever to end racism in America

♦︎ I believe a woman has the right to choose what to do with her own body, and that the ERA must be passed now

♦︎ I believe a country is judged based on how they treat their poor, not their rich

♦︎ I believe there needs to be an economic threshold which we don’t let Americans fall below

♦︎ I believe we are not“entitled” to Social Security and Medicare... more »

♦︎ I believe there needs to be an economic threshold which we don’t let Americans fall below

♦︎ I believe we are not “entitled” to Social Security and Medicare, we paid into these programs–we earn these benefits

♦︎ I believe while we are all born in the same country, we are not all created equal, some people do need help

♦︎ I believe investing in education is more important than investing in bombs

♦︎ I believe rape—is rape

♦︎ I believe #translivesmatter  and that homophobia and transphobia must be fought every day

♦︎ I believe demand creates jobs, not tax cuts

♦︎ I believe in those “union thugs” like teachers, fire fighters and police officers

♦︎ I believe we support our military by not cutting VA benefits and only sending our troops off to war as an absolute last option

♦︎ I believe we all have the right to follow whichever religion we want, or no religion at all, and our government shouldn't  represent a singular set of religious beliefs

♦︎ I believe our Constitution doesn’t only protect the rights for which I agree, that it sometimes protects rights I disagree with

♦︎ I believe that being unemployed doesn't mean you're lazy, and most individuals who don’t have a job—want one

♦︎ I believe in an United States for the people, by the people, means we protect the people–we don’t leave them to suffer if they hit hard times

♦︎ I believe we should protect the weakest among us first, not the richest

♦︎ I believe we shouldn’t go broke trying to live healthier and longer

♦︎ I believe we should put people before profits

In short, I'm a progressive working for +Bernie Sanders  because I believe in a country that builds its society to benefit 100% of its citizens, not just the top 2%. And while my side of the political spectrum might not be perfect, it damn well beats the alternative.

You want positions?  We've got positions.   http://goo.gl/SMMFPC

One of the most annoying aspects to presidential politics (especially in the primary season) is that virtually all candidates refuse to make specific policy proposals. Pollsters are hired, focus groups are assembled and eventually, when it's no longer possible to evade the issues, a few specifics will finally be announced.

That's why it's so refreshing to find a candidate who is happy, and more-than-ready to give firm answers to where he/she stands on the important issues that we are facing.

Here are Bernie's clear positions on  education that were recently solicited by the American Federation of Teachers.

Why Bernie could be the next JFK   from ->  http://goo.gl/CrTlTH

"When Sanders declared his candidacy on the Capital lawn, April 30, he referred to “obscene” levels of income disparity that exist in the country. Not satisfied with just nominal hikes in the minimum wage, he calls for a living wage. He contrasts our wage system with that of Norway, where they have a stronger middle class, a higher minimum wage and even show a greater commitment to environmental causes. Similarly, JFK was a strong advocate of not just raising the minimum wage but insuring that there was comparability in income from southern workers to their counterparts in the north. In the 1960’s, many northern jobs were flowing southward because of lower wages being paid by southern corporations to black workers. Many of the public positions on the part of both Sanders and Kennedy show astounding similarities in this workers rights arena, beside the fact that they shared northeastern sensibilities."

Bernie Sanders is the kind of candidate that does not come along too very often.  I really hope the Democratic party will choose him as their candidate in the election.  I have followed his campaign since he announced that he was running.  His economic platform speaks to me.

I grew up in a middle class family, went to college and got a great job right out of school.  I worked hard and made decent money.  I bought a house I probably couldn't afford.  When I lost my job during the recession, I lost my house.  For the first time in my life I was poor.  I had nowhere to go.  I stayed in a hotel room that cost me $39 a night for a while until I couldn't afford that anymore.  I went hungry many nights.  I ended up sleeping in my car for a few months until I lost that too.

I slept outside at a park on a bench for a few weeks.  Finally, as it began to get cold, I went to a shelter.  They were able to feed me, give me a warm place to stay and help me find a job.  Now, I have my own modest apartment, and a 15 year old car.  I feel the most successful I have ever felt in my life.  Thanks to a helping hand, I was able to get back on my feet.  I make $9.50 an hour at one job, and $8.75 at my second job.  I work very hard at both of these jobs and between the two, I often work 50-60 hours a week.

Bernie Sanders is the only candidate advocating for a $15 minimum wage.  For this reason, he gets my support.  He's the only candidate that is talking about helping the poor.  He understands the plight of so many.

I like Hillary Clinton.  I just feel that she doesn't understand me.  She is so close to many large corporations and I worry that she has their best interest at heart instead of mine.  I don't think she understands how a middle class person can become homeless in a matter of months.  Many of us are one or two paychecks away from disaster.  It wouldn't take much for me to become homeless again.

One of my jobs is talking about cutting back my hours after the summer.  I won't starve if they do, but I won't be comfortable either.  I'll do what I've had to do all summer.  Eat cheaply.  Keep the lights off as much as possible.  Open the windows to cool off.  If Bernie Sanders is elected and passes the $15 minimum wage, I would be able to afford to save some money possibly.  I would be able to put a few dollars away in case I have an emergency.

I plan to hit the streets for Bernie Sanders to help him win.  I've told all my co-workers about him already and several of them are excited for him too.  When you vote in the election, please do remember the working poor and the middle class.  Many middle class people are on the brink of becoming poor and are one problem away from it.

Please vote Bernie Sanders."

Attend or host a House Party for +Bernie Sanders on Wednesday, July 29th
There are currently 28,000 RSVPs to attend 1783 organizing meetings across the country as indicated on this map

While spreading the word online is a good first step, in order to win, we need action in the real world. These organizing meetings are a good first step. We need more people to step up and volunteer to HOST these, especially out in the countryside. You'd be surprised how many closet progressive reformers there are even in small town rural America. Sure, the Clinton campaign is raking in the big bucks.  But then Bernie doesn't need to spend so much on his campaign staff.  Since he knows where he stands -- and has held the same positions for many years ---  there's no need to spend big money on pollsters.

A quote from the article:

Conventional politicians and business people decry the evils of socialism, except when they are wallowing in it. If you're on the board of a bank or massive corporation, the government has unlimited socialism for you. No cost loans, favorable bankruptcy laws, bailouts and tax breaks without limit. At the same time, unemployed students cannot discharge student loans no matter how bleak their financial circumstances. Socialism has been inverted. Rather than deployed for the poor and struggling, it’s doled out endlessly to people who don’t need it.

Sanders not only points out how much we coddle the super wealthy, but he also has some actual solutions. Higher taxes for some, enlarge the social safety net and reduce the cost of higher education, just for example. Sanders’ messages don’t conform to the partisan binary we have the gall to call “democracy.”  It sounds different, because politicians still dust off the same talking points. Hard work, play by the rules, love Jesus, yada, yada, yada. It’s the same crap they’ve been peddling since Reagan and just as effective. If I have to listen to one more Republican worshiping at the alter of Ronald Reagan, I think I might lose it.

You can’t blame conniving, selfish politicians for doing what works. They only play to the willing cameras, repeating meaningless lines that someone has wrote or some consultant has poll tested. Our entire political debate has been reduced to a bad reality show, deductions for gaffes, stumbles and extramarital affairs, and extra credit for soundbites and signing pledges.

The majority has ceased to rule here. Most people don’t even bother to vote, and that’s by design. Liberal ideas would always win if everyone voted, which is why there is such a nonstop, furious attack on voting by the right. America is under siege by a small, insular aristocracy, and they won’t go down without a fight. It’s telling that we could easily see candidates from only two “noble” families, the Bushes and the Clintons, in our next election. We need no more perfect example of American feudalism than power being passed back and forth between ruling houses."

Read it all; this one is worth the time!  http://goo.gl/jbQawC

The five-year plan would invest $1 trillion and create or maintain at least 13 million decent-paying jobs, said Sanders, the Senate Budget Committee ranking member.

The legislation is co-sponsored by Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.), the ranking member of the appropriations committee, and it is backed by the American Society of Civil Engineers, the AFL-CIO and others.

“For too many years, we've underfunded our nation’s physical infrastructure. We have to change that and that’s what the 'Rebuild America Act' is all about. We must modernize our infrastructure and create millions of new jobs that will put people back to work and help the economy,” Sanders said.

“My legislation puts 13 million people to work repairing the backlog of infrastructure projects all across this country. These projects require equipment, supplies and services, and the hard-earned salaries from these jobs will be spent in countless restaurants, shops and other local businesses. It’s no surprise that groups across the political spectrum – from organized labor to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – agree that investing in infrastructure will pay dividends for future generations.”   http://goo.gl/ktalrx

To everyone that knocked on doors, made phone calls, and worked your hardest to get President Obama elected...this is why we did it. This is change we can believe in.  Thank you President Obama.

Due to the Supreme Court removing limits on corporate campaign contributions, the billionaire Koch brothers will be funneling close to $900 million to try and buy the 2016 election.   This has got to stop; it is a democracy killer.   http://www.sanders.senate.gov/koch-brothers

The only candidate who is bringing this issue front and center to the American people is +Bernie Sanders .

Watch him lay the smackdown on the Koch Bros here:  https://goo.gl/NFSREt     Go Bernie!!!

“I am convinced that imprisonment is a way of pretending to solve the problem of crime. It does nothing for the victims of crime, but perpetuates the idea of retribution, thus maintaining the endless cycle of violence in our culture. It is a cruel and useless substitute for the elimination of those conditions--poverty, unemployment, homelessness, desperation, racism, greed--which are at the root of most punished crime. The crimes of the rich and powerful go mostly unpunished."

Freedom from want.  Eleanor Roosevelt talked about it.  +Bernie Sanders talks about it.  It's about living your life without worrying about where your next meal will come from, or how you will pay for your college education, or your doctor's bills.  It's not a radical concept, and is practiced in countries such as Denmark.  Isn't it about time that the wealthiest country in the world starts caring for its own citizens this way?
