Tea Tree?

The Fortnum & Mason store in London's Piccadilly is famous for its window displays that change each season. I'm not entirely certain what this season's theme is, but I'm guessing that it has something to do with tea.

Tea Birds

OK, three out of five of my photos have featured tea cups, so I definitely think tea is the theme. Maybe.

Experimental Cancer Treatment That Terminates Rogue Cells Could Arrive in 2017

"CAR T-cell therapy, a cutting-edge immunotherapy technique, is engineered to target cancer at a cellular level.

If there were such a thing as a cancer silver bullet, it would be something that only targets those cells in your body that have gone rogue, while leaving the rest of you unharmed.

This prospect more or less sums up the hopes for CAR T-cell therapy (also known as CAR-T), an experimental cancer immunotherapy that basically sends out cells that are bioengineered to target and terminate cancer — and only those cells..."

If anyone's still in doubt that the UK government is making war on disabled people, read this. A tribunal ruled that 150,000 people who suffer mental distress while travelling, along with others, should receive increased funding. Rather than comply with this, the government instead changed the law so that they didn't have to pay out.

The Shadow Work and Pensions Minister said, ""This is an unprecedented attempt to subvert an independent tribunal judgement by a right-wing government with contempt for judicial process. By shifting the goal posts, the Tory Government will strip entitlements from over 160,000 disabled people, money which the courts believe is rightfully theirs. This is a step too far, even for this Tory government."

This is a step too far, even for this Tory government."

The Tory government has no shame about doing everything it can to make disabled people's lives worse on a daily basis. They have no respect for the law, disabled people, or anyone else.

Here's a link to the changed regulations:
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2017/194/made

EDIT The BBC has finally weighed in on this with more quotes from interested parties. It ends with this:

"A DWP spokeswoman said the government was "committed to ensuring our welfare system is a strong safety net for those who need it. That's why we spend around £50bn a year to support people with disabilities and health conditions."

The BBC always finishes with something supportive of the government, no matter how low the Tories have sunk. In this case, the DWP spokeswoman is either completely unaware of this latest change or is lying through her teeth.

No, it's not a bird, it's a shop in London's Regent Street. You might think they sell butterflies, but they sell accessories, mostly in leather. These handkerchiefs (or scarves, I'm not sure) aren't leather; they look like silk.

Achieving healthy vitamin D3 levels helps relieve symptoms of chronic widespread pain

Note that this is vitamin D3, not just generic vitamin D. Also note what the Mayo Clinic says about taking too much:

"The main consequence of vitamin D toxicity is a buildup of calcium in your blood (hypercalcemia), which can cause poor appetite, nausea and vomiting. Weakness, frequent urination and kidney problems also may occur."

F&M in Blue & Orange

If this season's window theme is tea, then presumably these boxes contain tea. Maybe the orange globes do, too. And does the orange tea taste better than the blue tea? I don't know. All I do know is that there's less of the orange tea than the blue tea. If you fill a couple of baths with them, you'll find that the orange tea comes right upto your knees. But the blue tea is only shin deep... ;-)

I wonder if this has anything to do with the ongoing battery problems that many people have had, where the battery simply stopped working after a firmware update, and which looks like leading to a class action suit against Microsoft.

Or it might just possibly have something to do with the other problem where the typecover just stops working for no apparent reason.

I'm pleased that they're removing them from the stores because it means that people are far less likely to buy a non-portable tablet and end up using it for gun target practice, as has happened in the States...
