Lotus Carroll1,774,885This is the Event for our March Self Portrait Challenge: Multiplicity. What this means is create a self portrait where you appear in the image multiple times (2 or more, your choice). Get creative and think up an interesting scene you can use this effect on and then make your image. Here is where you enter your ONE Multiplicity Self Portrait. Your photo must have been captured during this month. This Event remains open until 11:59 CST March 31st, so you have until then to create and enter your best photo from this month. Not adhering to rules will get you disqualified. *Tips & Inspiration* There are several different ways to go about achieving this effect. In camera, you can use a long exposure and move around. Alternately, you can use post processing to create multiples in an image. Photoshop is most widely considered in this type of editing, but other programs can also be used to achieve effect, such as Gimp. Margot M1You are invited to make a quirky entrance into 2015 by submitting your images to this Once Only Event: *Rule Breakers Rule* In this event you get to break every photographic rule and, more importantly, play with breaking some of your own rules.  Perhaps this is the year to try Boring-Black&White, Freaking-Techno-Colour, In-your-Face-Street, Not-the-Rule-of-Thirds, Definitely Not-A-Straight-Horizon, Not-a-Thing-in-Focus, Take-Your-Clothes-Right-Off, Shot-from-the-Hip, Backlit-Shit, Another-Hippy-Dippy-Diptych, and many, many more. Anyway, who made these damn rules?  No irony intended, but here are the Rules of the Event:  * No more than two submissions per person * Add some clues about the rule you broke * Use #rulebreakersrule  on each images so we can find them. (No infractions please or the Rule Breaker Police will #uncircle , #block #ignore and #youwillbedeadtous ) Submissions from 21.01.15 - 31.01.15 @109935908035703002300 and I will chose the winner. We hope that in the process we don’t become #deadtoyou . The winner can choose a print from any of our images.  One from each of us. If you don't like our images, fair enough, we will send you a card :-) We will announce the winner by the 10 February 2015.  Peace and Have Fun... Jeff Smith61,156Welcome to The Selfy Sunday Project for *December 2/12* _PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS NOT FOR THIS SUNDAY, NOV. 25/12._ Theme: *Bond, James Bond!* I want to see Selfy's that are inspired by *007* and the James Bond films. Lots exotic locations, action packed chases as well as numerous villains and sexy leading ladies to offer inspiration here. Or just stick to a more general "SPY" or cloak and dagger noire theme. Either way it should be fun. _Props may come in handy here!_ ________________________________ The Halloween SSP was the scariest, most ghoulish, terrifying Selfy Sunday ever. The submissions were amazing. Well done everyone. Scott Jarvie445,384*POST YOUR GOOGLE+ ALBUM OF PICTURES* It's been very very popular event in the past and I'm finally doing it again tonight. _This time it will be more organized, more heads up than usual and even a live event._ *SHARE AN ALBUM/GALLERY LINK* It's simple and easy but a lot of work and very fun for all. You simply share an album here and I'll be going through every single one of the albums. Then I will +1 the pictures in the album that I'm really drawn to. *BENEFIT* Well it's simply if you'd love to know which pictures I like most.  I always loved knowing which pictures people really love of mine because it helps me have an eye for which pictures are best received. It's a huge part of becoming a better photographer in my opinion. _*To be able to put out great art is first to know what great art looks like*_ *ON AIR* This will be something new... I'm going to go through all the albums Live, Online as an On-Air hangout. I'll talk a little bit about what I'm doing. If the show goes well I'll keep it for later viewing on YouTube... if the recording isn't great I won't. *SPECIAL GUEST* Because I want to have an outloud conversation about what and why I'm doing things  I will have my good friend and great photographer @109486822103622036238 on the show to facilitate the discussion. She will also visit a lot of these albums and +1 pictures as well. We ask that everyone add her to a circle ... not just because she's awesome (though that's reason enough) but so that if any of these albums are by mistake limited access she will have access. *DIRECTIONS* 1. Paste a link of a Google+ image gallery 2. Put a title or description of what we'll see in the album 3.  *IMPORTANT* If you post a link you hereby give us permission to use a screenshare view of all those pictures and perhaps your profile in a recorded Youtube video. 4. Make sure the album is Public access 5. Add @100962871525684315897  @109486822103622036238 to your circles 6. Return the favor. Take some of the other people's albums and +1 some of your favorites. *IMPORTANT* It bears repeating: _If you post a link you hereby give us permission to use a screenshare view of all those pictures and your profile (maybe) in a recorded Youtube video._ Do not post a link if you are not ok with lots of people visiting that link in addition to us and are not ok with it being on video as well.Share your Album- A Jarvie PlusOne Critique Experience2012-09-12 05:30:00141
Trever McGhee94,611Please accept my apologies if your one of the few that got hit by a bug in their system! This is my first event and for some reason Google notified some people 20 times and for some their system was planning on doing that within their calendars for the next 5 years...every single day...20 times a day...how it did or why it would set peoples calendars up to be notified 20 times a day...I don't know. Hopefully they've got it corrected, if not please let me know. I know I wanted to help peoples wishes come true but not in that way, The goal of this event my Birthday is give you as many of my Birthday Wishes as you require...why because you deserve it. My wish is here is to connect you to the thoughts/ the energy of thousands of people around the world all making a Birthday Wish for themselves from the heart... to you. I like to Imagine the energy from all those making a wish and the energy coming from the ones that come true(the smiles..the laughter..the tears...the overflowing of pure joy) being connected to you to power your own wish to come true. Thanks to some theories about Quantum Physics there's no space between you or me or them...topped with the fact they tell us energy is never destroyed, it's gotta go somewhere as each new person joins in, so why not to you to empower your wish to come true sooner rather than later. Imagine being connected to thousands....millions of others all making wishes...all hoping that your wish comes true for it will help empower their wish. They've documented several cases of where positive thoughts have made a difference, so why not around someones birthday who can then share it with everyone whose connected to that person...so me for this event. It's never been done before, so why not now....be part of it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain as we go day by day, year by year building this community of wish granters. Now think of an image that represents your wish and then take2seconds to think of that image at least once a day until it comes true. Have fun with it, there's no right or wrong way when you come from the heart. Please let us know as each wish comes true...yes each wish...there's no law that says you're only granted one wish...you deserve everyone of them when they come from the heart..when that wish fills you with the passion for life... *****UPDATE at first I was focused on getting as many people as possible for this so that everyone had more energy but now after reading your comments..hearing your passion for life...the numbers have gone completely out the window for each one of you have brought your own unique energy to the equation that's priceless....THANK YOU In my world Birthday wishes can be made everyday of the year because it's a celebration everyday that your here to share this with. So today I Celebrate being 44 and 1 day old.Update to fix Google Bug for "It's My Birthday and my wish is for your wishes to come true!!"2012-08-17 12:00:00213

it has high mountains like the alps, mountainous areas like black wood forest and rolling hills close to my home, and plains with a far horizons in the north - and many, many sights in between.

1950s, such as Pollock, Rothko or of Cy Twombly, and others. As I work with the shifting (or varying) colors and fluctuating (or free) forms in these images,
I am reminded of the interaction between elements and energy. Color and form come alive in my
imagination and become a part of the ongoing process of life. Abstract images are my way of
showing how mundane things can be transformed into mystery; a mystery that calls each of us
to explore, discover and embrace in their own way. If you are interested to see more you can aquire my Book "From Energy and Impression"___

Series: Streetlife Serenades:

I was living in the countryside in small village and town for most of my life.
So the buzz of the city, the never sleeping energy around still amazes me.
People in the city seem to life on a faster rhythm, with a faster pace.
The dense, often lound soundscape which halls throught the streets and boulevards seem driving people forward.
The lights and signs around them only seem playing the accords in the one big
streelife serenade playing on stage.
With my images I do want to document people and their relationships in our modern world which the city people explore more and more.

The Celestial series are digitally transformed of images

The forms still look familiar to our eyes and mundane.
But on a second look there is a mysterium, something our senses
seem not to be able to understand in the first moment
behind our reality.

Spring is a time
of abundance, where the new year
is feasting, a joy and delight around us
which we can feel and look forward to
all the last weeks of winter.

Within the Sketches of Spring series
I want to convey the joy and energy of life next to us
but also the evanescence and vulnerability of this beauty.

New Gallery online!!!

In the series Dance & Expression I explore
the fascinating world of how dancers have mastered their body control to express music.

Arms and legs, Head and feet, finger and toes..
All seem to be able to move independently , flow from one expression into
another and form a choreography, form the music some can not hear in an image.

Either if Contemporary dance with it's free choreography forms, classical ballet, flamenco or ballroom...
Dance photographg is a wonderfull thing to do..
I hope that all the expressions the danced stories and music does come alive through my images.

It so full of expressions , of danced stories and tales.

Mongolian Throat singer, Strassbourg, France, February 2017

Series: Streetlife Serenades:

I was living in the countryside in small village and town for most of my life.
So the buzz of the city, the never sleeping energy around still amazes me.
People in the city seem to life on a faster rhythm, with a faster pace.
The dense, often lound soundscape which halls throught the streets and boulevards seem driving people forward.
The lights and signs around them only seem playing the accords in the one big
streelife serenade playing on stage.
With my images I do want to document people and their relationships in our modern world which the city people explore more and more.

Two forms of humanity

A feminist is anyone
who recognizes the equality
and full humanity
of women
and men
Gloria Steinem

Series Energy & Process

The Energy and Process series consists of
multi-technique (Photography and PC) image,
each is originating from a digital photography,
no additional textures or add ons.

The contrast of colors and free forms in those images remind me of elements, energies which react with each other, which seem to be alive in an ongoing process. I create abstract art which shows mundane things transformed into the unknown.

"My visual library got stocked up plenty not only by the lessons, but by the incredible images my fellow mentees created during that time, and I will be drawing on this stock for the rest of my life. " -- +Eve Aebi

and I'll be drawing from the wonderful experience what can happen when you work with a wonderful inspirational and awesome group in a mentorship and as a mentor!

Final Plus Post and Graduation Album

From September to December of last year I had the great pleasure to participate in the Beyond the Blur mentorship held by +Alex Lapidus and +Heiko Mahr. They were supported by many helpers and we had onlookers cheering us along the way.

This mentorship took us on a travel through modern art history beginning with Impressionism and ending at Contemporary Art. Each week, Alex and Heiko gave us an introduction to two art movements, either complementing or contrasting each other, and their respective main proponents. We had to pick our favorite painter for each movement and let them inspire us for our own work and create a blurred or unsharp image considering the aims and philosophy of the movement.

As you can guess, for me (and I daresay for the other participants as well) some movements created positive vibes and inspired me much (like Impressionism and Wabi-sabi) while others created friction (Futurism) or didn't speak to me at all (Dada). That's cool, because we did not only get to know the different movements, but also got to know ourselves a little better.

It was much to take in and digest and not all of us were able to stay on track, but had to slow down and let the acquired knowledge sink in, before we could go on to the next task and sometimes I had to put the cart before the horse and work backwards, but that's good, too.

My visual library got stocked up plenty not only by the lessons, but by the incredible images my fellow mentees created during that time, and I will be drawing on this stock for the rest of my life.

Thank you, Alex and Heiko, all the helpers and fellow mentees! It was a great ride, a ride that wouldn't be possible without the generous +G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers and all the mentors participating offering their passion, time and knowledge to help other photographers grow.

Every image in this album has the information about the art movement and you can see this using the Info button on the images. Since I am on mobile I wasn't able to sort the images along the time line the lessons were presented. ___"My visual library got stocked up plenty not only by the lessons, but by the incredible images my fellow mentees created during that time, and I will be drawing on this stock for the rest of my life. Thank you, Robin, for sharing your thoughts and work from your time in the Beyond the Blur mentorship which +Alex Lapidus and I did held last year.

The works our mentees created really blew me away..
It was a wonderful time which did not let anybody untouched which was part of our journey

+Plus Post for the Beyond the Blur Mentorship....

Thank you very, very, very, very much to the +G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers, +Alex Lapidus and +Heiko Mahr for a beautifully inspiring and creative experience in the Beyond the Blur Mentorship. This mentorship was a fascinating exploration of art history: Impressionism and Romanticism, Symbolism and Cubism, Post-Impressionism and Dada, Expressionism and Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism and Futurism, Art & Music, and Pop Art, Japanese Painting and Wabi Sabi, and Contemporary Art. We studied particular artists (that we chose), in every period and produced photographic artworks inspired by these artists. The group of us were so eager to explore and to share our interests and our art, that we got lost in the process and really provided tremendous inspiration and support for each other. In addition to supporting our creative processes, Heiko and Alex prepared wonderful reviews and discussions of each art period, so there was much to be learned. I really had such a ball and learned SO MUCH, and truthfully, I am continuing to use all I learned here every single day. Here are some works. You can probably see echos of Turner, Rothko, Klimt, Seurat, and others in here.... Some of these are newer, since I continue to experiment using this process. Thank you for your genius, generosity and inspiration, Heiko and Alex!!___"I really had such a ball and learned SO MUCH, and truthfully, I am continuing to use all I learned here every single day." -- +Robin Cohen

#IfEarthWasTheSizeOfABeachBall

Please all comments and plusses to her post!!

--- If Earth was the size of a beach ball,
what could you do to save our planet? -

I would give everyone a pencil (or brush) and ask them to sit in front of someone they think is “different” and draw each others faces. Once you have drawn a person’s face, you will really have seen that individual's face. And you will see, that that face is much the same as your face. You think you see, but when you draw you really see. We’re not that different from each other. We’re all looking for the same thing: connection, love, understanding. We save each other, we save the planet.
Darla Hueske — age: less

A year ago, Eric Raeber started a project where he asked children this question: ”If Earth was the size of a beach ball, what could you do to save our planet?”
Eric's idea is to raise funds based on the Ice Bucket challenge from two summers ago: He challenged three or more friends to take a selfie and show us, with the help of a ball of any kind, how they would save the planet. Alternatively, they had the option of making a difference by planting a few trees at http://bit.ly/2kIf9V0 and help reach the goal of 100,000 trees by Earth Day.
Heiko Mahr was one of the persons that got the challenge (you can see his image here: goo.gl/xo2oYB ), and Heiko in turn challenged Annie Weibull. (her image is here http://bit.ly/2mjUagJ) She, in turn, challenged me and a few other fellow friends.

The contrast of colors and free forms in those images remind me of elements, energies which react with each other, which seem to be alive in an ongoing process. I create abstract art which shows mundane things transformed into the unknown.

I would whisk it away to my pleasant little garden, where it could thrive during a typical south Swedish winter,

and the persistent rain would cleanse it thoroughly.

I would whisk it away to my pleasant little garden, where it could thrive during a typical south Swedish winter,

Annie, 51

A year ago, +Eric Raeber started a project where he asked children this question: ”If Earth was the size of a beach ball, what could you do to save our planet?” The children came up with incredibly creative ideas on how to improve the health of our planet, and together with Eric, they illustrated their visions with wonderful images.

Eric has challenged friends at G+ and FB to show us in a photo or a video how THEY would save our planet if it was the size of a beach ball (or any ball, for that matter). Alternatively, they had the option of making a difference by planting a few trees at http://bit.ly/2kIf9V0 and help reach the goal of 100'000 trees by Earth Day. +Heiko Mahr was one of the persons that got the challenge (you can see his image here: goo.gl/xo2oYB ), and Heiko in turn has challenged me.

This is my entry. Oh gosh. Somehow I think that I should have produced something more serious and grown-up. But besides some knowledge about how to be kind to this planet in everyday life, (recycling, not wasting electricity and water, and so on) I don’t really know much about scientific findings on a greater scale on how to increase the health of planet Earth. Also, those of you who know me, you know that I am very much a child at heart. ;)

So now, I want to challenge +Christopher Germano , +Ricardo Williams +Art through the Aperture Photography and +Javier Toledo to show us in a photo or a video how THEY would save our planet if it was the size of a beach ball (or any ball). It would be super awesome to see their contributions within 48 hours, but we all lead active lives, so if that is not possible, maybe some time during the upcoming weekend…?

Alternatively, you can make a difference by planting trees at http://bit.ly/2kIf9V0 and help us reach the goal of 100'000 trees by Earth Day.

+Eric Raeber started the project "If the earth was the size of a beach ball" a year ago. He has asking the question above to many children. They always came up with incredibly creative ideas how to save our planet and Eric created creative images based on their ideas with them.

Today he challenged some friends here at G+ and FB to
to show us in a photo or a video, and within 24 hours, how THEY would save our planet if it was the size of a beach ball (or any ball, for that matter).Alternatively, we could make a difference by planting a few trees at http://bit.ly/2kIf9V0 and help us reach the goal of 100'000 trees by Earth Day.

This is my entry to the project but I also contributed to reach the tree goal.

Eric's idea is to raise funds based on the Ice Bucket challenge from two summers ago: He challenge three or more friends to take a selfie and show us, with the help of a ball of any kind, how they would save the planet. Alternatively they can plant trees by contributing to that non-profit.
They can then challenge three of their friends to do the same.

I was challenged by +Heiko Mahr!

With that, I hereby challenge +Lauri Novak +Marjorie McDonald and +Dave DeBaeremaeker to show us in a photo or a video, and within 24 hours, how THEY would save our planet if it was the size of a beach ball (or any ball, for that matter).

Alternatively, make a difference by planting a few tree at http://bit.ly/2kIf9V0 and help us reach the goal of 100'000 trees by Earth Day.

Please share widely and/or consider this amazing mentorship.

This is great offer for anybody with camera whichs want to learn how to use it's camera better.

If you know any aspiring photographers who are active on G+ and could benefit from this, please encourage them to apply. Sign ups are on the original post.

Sign up here for the Camera Basics: Beyond Automatic 2017 mentorship!

►►► Read the instructions before you sign up! ◄◄◄

This is a special program through the +G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers designed to help you get to know your camera better and be able to move into Manual shooting mode. A group of mentors will be taking on a handful of people for a 8-week online mentorship program which will include lessons, assignments, and informal discussions. Everyone who participates can have fun and learn at the same time!

We have assembled a very able group of quality, knowledgeable and caring photographers from the Google+ community who want to share their understanding and experience with you.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a camera BASICS workshop only, designed to help an individual move beyond shooting on auto or semi-automatic modes exclusively. It will cover how to use the various manual options for DSLR cameras and some "point and shoot" cameras that have a dedicated Manual mode. Do not apply for this workshop if your camera does not have a Manual mode.

Also, please be aware that this is an intensive mentorship. Each week will have set assignments, with very clear expectations. You will be shooting a lot. If you are not comfortable with a very guided and directed program, then this might not be the mentorship for you. This mentorship is not about developing your artistic vision. It is, however, very much about giving you the technical control of your camera needed to develop and realize your artistic vision. Advanced editing skills are not required, and for most of the mentorship you will be asked not to edit your photos.

Group size is LIMITED.

Signups will be open for several days, and are not first-come first-served. Selected participants will be notified by Thursday, Feb. 26th, and the first lesson post will be Thursday March 2nd. You will need to have the +G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers page circled to receive the private message, if you are selected.

░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░

These are the selection criteria:

• You must be taking and posting your own photographs regularly here on G+ –– typically at least a couple of PUBLIC posts per week; more posting increases your chances of being selected. (The class itself will be private to the group selected.)
Posts to a community, even public community are not considered public posts in the sense of this application. Participants are those who regularly post in G+ in a variety of public posts, including posts to public collections.

• You must be interactive with others here at G+, as you will be expected to participate in this program giving feedback and comments to your fellow participants. We learn from each other in this program.
• You must have the time available to participate in this workshop. You’ll be shooting a lot, and weekly assignments need to be completed on time. The program is designed so that each week builds on the lessons of the previous week. If you are going to be away in the middle of the mentorship, then it might be better to wait until the next offering.

(We use the same selection criteria that +Robin Griggs Wood uses for her "G+ Mentorship Art for Photographers Program", which you can read about here to see if you qualify for the BASICS mentorship: https://plus.google.com/b/105385385448524520257/105385385448524520257/posts/BT1Ei9qD2fi )

––
To be considered for selection, please comment to the main post only!

(your application will not be seen at any reshares) and answer the following questions in your comment:

1) Photography skill level or how long you've been shooting
2) Type of camera/s you currently shoot with that have Manual mode
3) Aspirations within photography
4) Current job or profession
5) Amount of time you have available for participation

EXAMPLE ANSWERS
1) Shooting for 1 year approx.
2) Canon EOS Rebel T3
3) To sell prints of my work
4) Full-time grocery store clerk
5) I do have a job and two kids, but I will make the time for this

The +G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers is run by program directors +Robin Griggs Wood, +Ron Clifford and +Alex Lapidus.

multi-technique (Photography and PC) image, each is originating
from a digital photography, no additional textures or add ons.

The contrast of colors and free forms in those images remind me of elements, energies which react with each other, which seem to be alive in an ongoing process. I create abstract art which shows mundane things transformed into the unknown.

Love
is a portion
of the soul itself,
and it is of the same nature
as the celestial breathing
of the atmosphere of paradise.

Germany is a diverse country, with many different landscapes, some beauty and bountiful, some barren and harsh -
it has high mountains like the alps, mountainous areas like black wood forest and rolling hills close to my home, and plains with a far horizons in the north - and many, many sights in between.
I want showing you a bit of the variety of my country -
how I do see it in color or black and white.
Hope you enjoy

Natural curtains

Dormant in the wintry light
of a morning frosty clear
the present
solidfied in movement
stopping me
for a moment

Series: Structure & Clarity
-------------------------------------------------------
Removing the original colors
from an image reveals forms and structures
and their relationships in a decluttered
clarity, which allows us new insights about the world
surrounding us.

and that is
upright.

Winter is a sculptor.

If Autumn is a painter,
Winter is a sculptor.

Winter changes
the mundane world
creating new forms
abstract or surreal
either art is Winters way.
