Jesse Wojdylo1,008,378Over the last few months I have noticed many people using Twitter to supplement Google+ or the other way around. I think there are some very effective strategies that can be used. This week we will get some of those strategies out on the table. All the information you need on Google Plus Chat is available here: http://wojdylosocialmedia.com/google-plus-chat-twitter-chat/ In December of last year I really jumped on Twitter in a big way as I love the real time updates and the sports engagement. This has yet to come to Google+ so I spend my weekends chatting it up with college football and college basketball folks. While doing that I notice plenty of other awesome social media users that know and love the Google+ platform. This led me to these discussion questions: 1. How long have you been active on Twitter? 2. Do you use Twitter for pleasure or business? Or pain? 3. Do you auto post to Twitter? Do you post Google+ Posts? 4. How do you use Twitter to supplement Google+? 5. Mention some active Twitter users that may enjoy Google+ 6. Do you want a Google Plus Chat on Christmas Eve? Please join us for #googlepluschat  on Twitter every Tuesday at 2:00 pm est. We will discuss if there will be a Christmas Eve event or not. Either way, join us this week!Google Plus Chat Twitter Chat2013-12-17 20:00:0053

Germany blocks WhatsApp data transfers to Facebook

German data protection authorities on Tuesday said they had blocked Facebook from collecting subscriber data from its subsidiary WhatsApp, citing privacy concerns.

Facebook and WhatsApp promised in the wake of the Silicon Valley giant's 2014 acquisition of the messaging app that they would not share data, Hamburg's Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Johannes Caspar recalled in a statement.

He added that Facebook would be required to delete any data already received from WhatsApp in Germany.

This made me chuckle. So according to this person, if you are 31 and above, you are"unacceptable" unless you are "handsome" and "good looking".

I would hate to be 31 lol.

And isn't "handsome" and "good looking" a personal perception?

I shouldn't knock the person as after all we all were the same in one way or another at that age. But still, maybe a classification to what they consider handsome and good looking might have gone along way.

Tiahleigh Palmer's foster brother Trent Thorburn reportedly attacked in jail

Trent Thorburn has reportedly been bashed twice in prison since he was charged with having an incestuous relationship with slain Queensland schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer.

Inmates at the Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre yelled "pretty boy" and "kill him" as they cheered his attackers at the weekend, The Courier-Mail reports.

I disagree with the "incestuous" category his crime has been placed under. It should be paedophile rape as he is 19 and she was only 12. The poor girl was not his sister, either biological or adopted. I have no sympathy for him as to what happened in jail.

Abandoned Soviet mining outpost reborn as retro tourist attraction

In 1925 Norway took formal possession of the islands under the international Svalbard Treaty that allowed existing commercial operations to continue with visa free travel.

The Soviet Union quickly seized the opportunity to gain a foothold in capitalist Europe and purchased the Swedish coal mine Pyramiden, named after the pyramid-shaped mountain behind it.

It eventually became a bizarre anomaly — a thriving Soviet community in a NATO country.

The Norwegian Paradox: Fighting climate change while selling the fuels that help cause it

"It might sound strange that an oil and gas company that kind of produces carbon is advocating 'please put a tax on carbon', but that's actually what we're doing.

"Last year we sent a letter to Christiana Figueres and the ones running the Paris agreement that said, 'please introduce a CO2 tax because we need that'."

Statoil cheerfully pays about $50 a tonne under Norway's longstanding carbon tax.

The latest CSIRO survey shows Australians collectively score 59 points out of a possible 100 on diet.

Fewer than half hit the benchmark for fruit intake.

Junk food is the downfall, with only one per cent of people abstaining, and about a third eat more than the recommended intake.

Professor Manny Noakes from the CSIRO says halving the intake of junk food - or "discretionary food" - would make a big difference.

World's Largest Powerships Bring Much-Needed Electricity to Ghana

In Ghana "Dumsor" refers to a period of time in which darkness is more prevalent than light, and Ghanaians have been experiencing a lot of it due to the drought, low water levels and other problems affecting the country's powerplants.

Coming to the rescue are Karpowerships docked in Tema harbour - they are floating powerstations, which can generate 486 megawatts. GE supplies Karpowerships with transformers which send the power the ships generate over wires to local transmission grids.

Something positive is happening in Greece: taboos and stereotypes that dominated the post-dictatorship mentality are being abolished in a sensational and swift manner. Who will ever again speak out against large-scale privatizations after the last few months?

The sale of the former Athens airport, Cosco’s expansion and the deals for regional airports constitute major changes, deals made and approved by a leftist government.

Tears were shed, remorse was expressed, but they were done

a fascinating piece of research carried out around the world, Tim Kasser looked at people’s values, and their effects on well-being. He studied how what we strive for in relationships affects our health and happiness. He found two distinct relationship-related values: popularity (the drive to have more friends and be liked by a wider circle of people) and affinity (the drive to deepen and build close relationships).

Those for whom popularity was more important, were less happy, less healthy, more depressed, and used more drugs. Those who strived for affinity were the complete opposite. We wrongly assume more is better for most things in life. It just isn’t the case with relationships.

Nothing like recycling.

known as Evil May Day, was portrayed in a then-banned play called The Book of Sir Thomas More, believed to be written between 1596 and 1601. William Shakespeare and two other writers were called to edit the manuscript, with the Bard contributing the 147 lines of More’s emphatic pro-immigrant monologue.

The play was never performed in Shakespeare’s lifetime because the Queen’s censor, Edmund Tilney, thought it might incite riots during a time when England was once again besieged by another immigrant crisis with the arrival of French-speaking Protestant asylum seekers from France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Stranger, go tell the Spartans that here we are buried, obedient to their orders.

The battle of Thermopylae was the turning point of where the balance of global power begun to move from Asia to Europe. This battle was the first of three battles that would begin the transformation of Europe as the "centre of the world".

For three days, just over 7,000 Greeks, spearheaded by an elite unit of three hundred Spartans, gave a savage beating to a Persian army that outnumbered them by perhaps 20-to-1. About 150,000 men willing to die for the glory of Xerxes, the Persian Great King, came up against the most efficient killing machine in history.

Stranger, go tell the Spartans that here we are buried, obedient to their orders.

404 ... We all know the error message ... "Page not found".

I am sure 404 was also used by the ancient Greeks when they were asked "Where is Athens??". 404 .. not found .... as 404BC was the year Athens defeated and occupied by the Spartans after the lengthy Peloponnesian War which lasted 27 years.

2,600 years ago, using nothing more than chisels and mathematics, a 1km (3,400 feet) tunnel was built under a mountain. The tunnel was started from both sides and meet in the middle ... with an error of a mere free inches.

2,600 years later, the tunnel under the English channel using modern technology, we couldn't achieve the "achievable" ... connecting the two tunnels without the error factor.

The new law is set to take effect in 2020 and will be part of France’s Energy Transition for Green Growth Act, which has already set a ban on disposable plastic bags throughout the country.

The law will only allow disposable tableware made from 50% biologically-sourced materials that are compostable at home. The restrictions on plastic products follow the global climate agreement reached in Paris in 2015, a meeting of nations looking to curb the effects of climate change.
