I am overwhelmed by your responses to the news of Jonathan's sudden death.  I wish I could be able to personally thank each of you for your kindness, but, at this moment it is all I can do to get through one day at a time.  I'm trying to read and respond to your thoughts but I'm also struggIing to survive the tsunamis of grief as well as moments of denial that Jonathan cannot possibly be gone. Was Facebook Your First Social Media Experience?

I am a very unique individual in that Facebook was not my first social media experience. I honestly don't even remember the "like" button when I was briefly on that website. I dabbled with Twitter and Pinterest but nothing like Google+.

+Matthew Caluori brings up many good points about Facebook being the first social media experience for many people on the Internet. It was where they learned to share, comment and interact with others online. This makes it very hard for them to walk away. It is much like the small town where most people grew up. They might walk away for a few years but most people return home.

So, was Facebook your first social media experience? If not, which website was?

Links Continue to Drop on Google Webmaster Tools

Also, Google+ posts are still not getting crawled and indexed in Google search. We are going on almost two weeks now. At this point can we say that Google is not going to index Google+ posts?

Just as a frame of reference, I was at 203 total websites linking back a week ago, down to about 105 last week and now down to 68. At this rate I will be at zero by Friday.

Chrome OS for Grandma?

I bought Chromebooks for each of my parents. Open laptop. Email. Hangouts. Close laptop. They love it. It's so easy.

Grandma has a non-Chromebook laptop. On startup the screen is covered with security warnings, Java runtime updates, and dozens of icons. She has a hard time finding the email icon. When she clicks the email shortcut on the desktop, a browser window opens with a fat toolbar that comes from some vendor I don't recognize. There's only one thing she wants to do on this machine, and it's obscured by too many distractions. Grandma doesn't care about Java updates.

I asked my parents if they thought Chromebooks are easier to use than my grandmother's computer. YES. We ordered her a new computer yesterday.

Building a Meaningful Relationship Takes Patience and Effort

I know I am getting old. I am going to be one of those senior citizens that talks about how the younger generation is going to be the ruination of society. Well, I am not limiting it to the younger generation. I know many older than me that have used Facebook and Twitter to build relationships. I recently wrote about this type of communication.

Building a relationship takes quite a bit of time and patience. It also takes plenty of face to face and phone conversations. In a time when no one talks on their phone I can only predict that relationships are not as strong as they once were. Many studies have come out stating that more grandchildren have little to no relationship with their grandparents.

When is the Last Time You Went to a Small Town Carnival?

I am reading the opening scene of the Dead Zone by Stephen King which is located at a carnival. Great book; read anything by Stephen King! Now that July 4th is just around the corner I can remember going to the local carnival and enjoying the fireworks with friends. Oh, the days of our past.

I lived in Raleigh, NC for many years so I had the opportunity to enjoy the North Carolina State Fair. It is quite the spectacle. I have not been to a small town carnival in well over a decade but I think it would be interesting to poke around at one. What do you say +Lauren Sutton? When is the Kenly Karnival?

When is the last time you went to a carnival? Did you grow up in a small town that had a carnival once a year? Also, do they do carnivals in the northeast?

If Instagram Adds Video, Will It Slow the Growth of Vine?

Many of you know that I think Vine is an awesome tool. That said, they have been very slow to address user feedback. I know Facebook and Instagram are also slow to answer user problems. Just another reason I love the plus, but that is another topic for another time.

If Instagram adds 5 to 10 second videos do you think Instagram users will bypass Vine to take short videos? I think there is potential but we have seen Facebook try to copy other apps and ideas that failed miserably. The Wojdylo Show #10, today, will discuss this topic and why it might not be a smart move for Facebook who is bleeding cash.

In a time when so many people are afraid to voice their opinion JC was the opposite. I looked up to him so much because he was not afraid to be honest. In fact, one of the only reasons I have had such Google+ success is because I emulated JC. He is one of the few that was willing to share his true self.

With the greatest of sorrow I, +su ann lim , have to inform you that Jonathan Christopher Kendall, my fiancé and love of my life, died suddenly last night on 15 June 2013.  Despite the incredible efforts of our friends +Suzanne Jacob +Gaynal Brierley , paramedics and ambulance personnel he could not be revived.

Jonathan lived as he believed, telling it like it is, with wit and humour, enjoying life to the hilt, with honour, directness and compassion.  I was incredibly blessed to be the recipient of his immense love, and as each other's beloved, to share unbelievable happiness for too short a time.   Jonathan, I LOVE YOU with all my heart and miss you desperately.
