Very hard to put into words how I feel about losing Andy Johns so suddenly. We spoke just a few weeks ago about working together on a few movie soundtracks that he had been commissioned to produce, he sounded upbeat, enthusiastic and as usual full of ideas. He brought real musical magic to "The Extremist" and "Chickenfoot" records, experiences I will always treasure. As an engineer and producer he changed the sound of rock music for all time. He was a musical giant who's presence will be missed, and I will miss him very, very much.

Today's featured fan artwork came to us from Rinal in Indonesia. His inspiration to draw Joe with a motorcycle instead of a guitar came to him from a post he saw on Joe's page few years back of a motorcycle. Rinal made the trip to Australia for the G3 tour and got his piece signed during a meet and greet before he had made the motorcycle. Pretty cool!

Now that the asteroid has safely passed us by I feel it's time to break my cyberspace-silence and let you all know what I've been up to these last few months.

After returning home from the last of three incredible G3 tours (see soon to be posted "ZZ's fly-on-the-wall/tour movies"), I got down to writing music for a new solo record. A very prolific and cathartic two months followed resulting in a bundle of new music I was very excited to get recorded.
