When Last Where You Scammed?

I am selling a 300D Cannon on +Gumtree South Africa

Today I got an email from a scammer wanting to buy my camera.

He suggested I use FastPay. Odd. I suggested +PayPal

He asked that I send him a payment request. A couple of mins later I got an email saying that the full amount was paid. Official Paypal.

Something was worrying me. But I could not figure out what. The real Paypal site indicated that requested money will not be released until the goods are shipped. That worried me. Even if this guy was legit he could turn around....

I thought why not search Google for his name but skuki vander or
skukiraw@gmail.com does not exist. Odd.

Then I had a closer look at the email from PayPal
Have a look at the attached image for more details.

Very Interesting: Could Cape Town Challenge Joburg As South Africa's Economic Hub?

This question is not the real issue: If you are in Cape Town or intent to migrate to Cape Town or just want to visit Cape Town you'll know Cape Town is great and getting better.

The article refers to geographical issues but what it does not give credit to is the local Cape Town and Western Cape Government. Without these Cape Town's success would not be the same.

And keep tabs on Tim Harris https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Harris_(politician). Do you think he just appeared? He got there because of people who want to run Cape Town well.

Tim Harris said to Moneyweb:

Tim Harris said to Moneyweb:

1) Cape economy is on a different trajectory
2) Migration to Cape Town: People seeing economic opportunity
3) GDP growth Cape Town have been exceeding the national average by 0.5%,
4) Unemployment is 10% lower than national average
5) Business confidence in the Western Cape is also currently higher than it is nationally
6) Opportunity: Cape Town's strategic location for economic benefit are tourism and the oil and gas sector

With us being a Cape Town self catering agency ( http://capeholidays.info ) we have a good idea on the tourism accommodation market. And this is a good time to invest in Cape Town tourism. Making great accommodation available as self catering cannot be easier. But you have to buy right. Location, and configuration are critical.

You should read the full story here: http://snip.ly/KfLg

The Tim Harris interview continues:

"It already appears that the Western Cape economy is on a different trajectory to the rest of the country. The region is attracting a great deal of internal migration, which is a clear indication of people seeing economic opportunity.

“In the Western Cape, we are proud of the areas in which we currently out-perform in a national context,” say's the CEO of Wesgro Tim Harris. “In GDP growth we have been exceeding the national average by 0.5%, and unemployment is 10% lower here than the national average. This is a province of opportunity.”

He adds that business confidence in the Western Cape is also currently higher than it is nationally. The economic momentum in the region is demonstrated by how the number of new building approvals that are being granted. This tracked the national average until last year, from which point there has been a distinct up-tick.

“This shows the economic momentum that we have down here,” says Harris. “People are moving to our province to seek economic opportunity.”

Two areas that highlight the Cape’s ability to make use of its strategic location for economic benefit are tourism and the oil and gas sector.

Wanting to do a wine tour at next to nothing?

You can pay for a dedicated tour, hit the train and walk or jump on the red bus.

This is what this blogger suggested http://snip.ly/qMTT and here she continues. Obviously on a budget and a little upset about it.

Cape Town Jazz Festival April 2016

One of the most popular festivals in Cape Town where the jazzers get together and have a lot of fun. They come from all over. And most look for accommodation to late http://ctwn.info

Today espAfrika, organiser of the annual (CTIJF), shared more of the glittering names that will join the all-star line-up at next year’s festival happening on 1 and 2 April 2016. Africa’s Grandest Gathering, now celebrating its 17th year, just got grander. American singer and songwriter Cassandra Wilson will grace the Rosies stage with her tribute to Billie Holiday – for jazz lovers this rich and sublime experience is not to be missed. Many critics acknowledge Wilson as the pre-eminent jazz singer of our time and her highly anticipated performance at CTIJF 2016 is set to be a feature for many Festinos.

The consquences when you eat too much Elephant Garlic and Sweet Potato....

We went traveling 3000 km to fetch a dog in Zastron - I was conned by by my wife.

But if we could travel off the beaten path I'll do it.

After doing few gravel passes we stayed at The Place between Ladismith and Riversdale just off the R323 on a Klein Karoo farm.

But never did I realise how potent Elephant Garlic mixed with Sweet Potato can be.

Read about The Place here and my ordeal after the braai

How Not To Take A Road Trip With Dogs

We are on our way to fetch another dog. A 3rd dog. If 2 is not enough already.

You are getting into the story a little late http://ctwn.info/1AzE6Jj

But I was conned by my wife multiple times after +Elmarie Horak was coerced via Facebook. Get the background here http://ctwn.info/1AzEdEG

But we have made progress with our old Syncro VW on a 3000 km trip (1000 km if you go the boring national way) doing off the beaten path route; over mountain passes and gravel roads.

Today's trip is the introduction to our first mountain passes. And more here http://ctwn.info/1AzE6Jj

Off The Beaten Track Route Planning And Navigation Tools – 3000 Km

Avoiding National Roads and tar where we can.

It will be two dogs and and two people fetching another small dog in Zastron with our VW Syncro. We’ll travel from Simonstown.

And the boring N1 route is just more than 1043 km. Google says it will take us 11 hours.

But we will do 9 days off mountain passes and visit small towns along the way.

This post is about all the tools we used to plan our off road trip and the itinerary for the nine days.

In hindsight I would have loved to use +Sygic and how to use it well when you plan not the shortest route but rather the most challenging or scenic route. You can read about it and give me advice.

If you do a Google search for the From: Email address trackingrelease@in.com http://goo.gl/BQZGQZ you get others talking about this guy.

Today the scammer and I at square one. I have my camera. He has nothing. And he had nothing.

Saving Money Traveling to Cape Town

I just read an article on saving money traveling to Cape Town.

And left this comment:

Is see that you mention hotels as an option to save money. The alternative is to stay over in self catering homes. These are very popular in Cape Town. The only disadvantage is that you cannot stay for one or two nights. Normally 4 nights. And then you get the best possible deal.

Many people visiting Cape Town as foreigners want to stay a few days here and few days there over two weeks. I understand why they want to do it. But that adds to the cost. And who wants to pack up and go every day from one place to another. That’s wasting good time.

Cape Town is relatively small but packed with a lot. Within an hours drive you can be anywhere. Rather get one home base. Get a cheap car rental – not from the normal guys – and use your one base to see Cape Town. This way you will save a lot of bucks.

And if you can avoid December Jan Feb then you save more money. Peak time is in some places 5 times more expensive – accommodation wise.

And Camps Bay Clifton is not the beginning and end of Cape Town. You will save a lot of money staying in the Southern Peninsula.

Have fun___

Have a look at this blog post on judgements.

In South Africa the nation is watching the trail of world Olympian Oscar Pistrorius. A real decoy for the ego keeping it occupied with it's complex problems. Instead of focus on the sick mind.

I did this blog post to focus my attention as I am studying ACIM.

When I write I tend to learn more. ;-)

I have created this quick quiz on Cape Town. Only 7 questions. I am planning on using the idea to educate our clients on Cape Town. There are questions on Cape Town and self catering. Let me know what you think.

If you have any questions for future quizzes please let me know. Even if they are ideas that will promote your business. As long as they are education from a quiz point of view.
