CK Wylde1,228A Circle Share Of Crazy People - Also Known As WritersI've not really shared circles before but every time +Brian Buckley does it I end up with fantastic new people in my feed.  So I thought I would share my writer's circle with you all. In it you will find  a bunch of G+ Writers and people who have to do with writers (publishers for instance).  WarningI tried this a little earlier and had a couple of people say they couldn't see the people in the circle. If you can't please let me know, I'm trying to figure out why that might be happening. Also, if you happen to know why that happens I am all ears.If you want to be included in this circle, also plese let me know.  #writers   #circleshare   #circles  2013-11-18 20:32:2844017110CC G+

Simona AN23,183+Todaysmemory THANK YOU CircleSince last year, I started to post memories of the day - celebrations, great people in painting, sculpture, music, dance, literature, film, science, etc. A tribute to the people who have left a mark in history, an international celebration, all with a short summary. I named these posts Today's Memory. When I saw that my memories captured attention, I create a page, +Todaysmemory (with big help from my friend +Angela Ghinea) and I discovered a lot of people with the same tastes and posts. Here's a BIG THANK YOU Circle with the best friends and Sources of +Todaysmemory.  A group of extremely interesting people, if you add them you won't regret! If you like the memories, I invite you to send, with hashtag #todaysmemory  and curator me, +Simona AN everything you think deserves your tribute! Nina Pelletier11,765I have been requested to share my writers circle many times over the last year, but I never felt right doing it. After 2 emails I received yesterday asking so kindly that I share it yet again, I figured it's time to do so.I have over 500 writers in my writers circle because, hey, that's why I'm here right? But sadly only 500 of them can be shared at once. So you won't get all of the wonderful writerly people I have met on this lovely world we call Google+, but here are 500 of them.  Enjoy and share. If I've missed any writers, please feel free to add them in the comments below.Thank you to this awesome community of literary quirkiness and genius. ♥  #writershelpingwriters   #writers  2012-09-12 15:13:0750121411CC G+

Meilani MacDonald2,935Small Business circle 2 of 2Hello small business peeps! I'm a small biz person and naturally I want to connect with other small biz owners. I really feel we all have so much to share with each other and to learn from one another as we navigate this world called Google+ that provides us with so many great tools and resources to support our small biz efforts. I also think it's a good thing to support each other, and lift each other up as we work towards our goals. So I've been collecting small biz people and shared small biz & entrepreneurs circles, because those are the people I most want in my own circles, to follow, to connect with, and to support. I have 700+ small bizzes in my circle, so I've split it into two circles to share with you. This is #2 of the 2. Let's hear it for small business!Btw, speaking of supporting small bizzes, I host a TGIF Biz Networking Hangout every Friday at 4pm pst, now a Hangout on Air. It is a chance to give yourself and your biz a little promo, and I feature special guests who are small biz owners and who have all kinds of good advice and info to share with other small biz owners. Please check my profile for more info or to watch last Friday's episode, where we talked about QR codes and great ideas for how to use them, and also talked about the value of keeping content fresh on your blogs and web sites, and when and why to blog, or not to blog. #smallbusiness #entrepreneur #sharedcircles +CircleCount +Shared Circles Shared a Circle with You +Shared a Circle with you2012-05-28 18:24:39330211318CC G+
Rob Gordon22,157*Entrepreneurs, Self-Employed & Small Business OwnersUPDATED SHARED CIRCLE: Part 1 of 2: A through L (by last name).Link to Part (M-Z):         http://goo.gl/0Fcg1Link to Supplemental 1: http://goo.gl/AXXrWLink to Supplemental 2: http://goo.gl/TZKKeLike to Supplemental 3: http://goo.gl/3x6hINOTE:  This circle is no longer maintained in its present form but is still a good place to start if you are looking for entrepreneurs to follow and connect with here.  It has mostly been replace with a Google+ community of the same name that you can find at http://goo.gl/ejG9P**********************This is the most recent update to the popular "entrepreneurs" circle that posted a few months ago. As you can see, it has gotten bigger than 500 people so I have had to split it alphabetically into two parts. These two circles includes the self employed, small business owners, independent contractors, small startup companies and pretty much anyone trying to make it outside of the traditional economy. This is different from the other business circles of this type in that it doesn't include too many of the "celebrity entrepreneurs" and instead has mostly people with their own business or venture. There are more than 800 people here, but this has been reviewed extensively since it was last published -lots of fantastic new people have been added, and some have been dropped - mostly because they don't interact much. The end result is a circle of really awesome business people who actively interact with others here and have a small business or entreprenueral mindset. This is a really diverse group and includes entrepreneurs of all stripes - some have well established ventures and are wildly successful, others are just getting started and haven't made it yet. As can be expected, it is a little tech heavy, but represents most industries and many different types of business. There are even a handful of people here who have traditional jobs, but seem to have an interest in small business issues and always seem welcome to help entrepreneurial efforts. The people in these circles post all manner of things - not just business, but all are smart and interesting people so I recommend that you check this out.I do want to add the disclaimer that this is in no way "definitive" - there are millions of entrepreneurs on Google+ and this is just a tiny fraction of them - the ones I have curated. It seems that about two seconds after I publish this I always remember someone I should have included so just me know if you think you should be here. I republish this periodically and generally add everyone who comments on the post.As with all circles of this size I would use some discretion in adding this - either update your existing circle, pick and choose the ones you like or use these as a trial circles - whatever works for you. I'm not even sure Google will let you add all this many names at once so you may have to come back if you want to add all of them. The technology for this is not perfect, but I am trying to do my part to help build a highly interconnected community of entrepreneurs here on Google+.I hope you find the people in this circle interesting.RobReshares welcome and appreciatedIMPORTANT: You don't want to follow people based on where their last name fits in the alphabit do you? Make sure you also take a look at the second part of this list:LINK TO PART II (M-Z): 2012-04-18 18:49:234401197166CC G+

Gabriel Fitzpatrick3,746Writers CircleA couple people have asked me to share a circle of writers because there apparently aren't enough of those. This is the first full one, and contains most of the writers whose posts and content I've found interesting and engaging (or at very least who haven't been so insufferable as to warrant an uncircling ^.^) If you aren't here, you may very well be in the second one. Don't jump to any conclusions :)2012-03-26 22:19:06499983CC G+
Meilani MacDonald1,201If the Circle Fits, Share It! - Entrepreneurs, Freelancers and Small BusinessWow, where to begin? This is exactly the circle I was looking for: entrepreneurs, freelancers and small business. I'll begin with a thanks to +Rahul Roy, whose always helpful posts of resources for new and wanting to be more active plussers pointed the way to www.CircleCount.com. That site turned out to be a great resource for finding shared circles defined by interest. There, I found +Rob Gordon's awesome entrepreneurs, freelancers and small business circle. I know it's a quality circle, as I noticed many of the folks in it are already in my circles, and I generally circle people who make posts I find to be useful, educational and enlightening. I hope you will find them as useful and enlightening as I have! #smallbusiness #freelance #professional #entrepreneur2012-03-24 00:26:5250111715CC G+

The latest five-star review for The MoonQuest -- the book's 33rd on Amazon.com!!
"Reading a Mark David Gerson novel is akin to a magical journey, where his stunning prose makes you, the reader, feel as if you're walking through an enchanted forest; but at the same time, there's an underlying simplicity in his writing which keeps the story moving along, in a wonderful combination of plot, dialogue and Toshar's inner monologue."
~ Paola Rizzato, Brighton, England

Back at work on Book #9 (Book for Writers #4) -- "Organic Screenwriting: Writing for Film, Naturally." The book must like the ambience of this particular Starbucks, as I think the book-cover shot we're using is one that was taken here, on the outdoor patio!

Unless I don't sleep for the next three nights, I'm not likely to meet my original goal of being done by Easter...but it is coming along! I'm now aiming for May Day! (In the Celtic calendar, May 1 is Beltane, the halfway mark between the spring equinox and summer solstice, and it is said to celebrate fertility, fire and abundance -- all good energies with which to launch a book out into the world!)

I'm letting Organic Screenwriting (my 9th book) spill out of me, well, organically, as I nurse my super-duper vente concoction at Starbucks. Like all my books, it's a slow start. But, also like all my books, I'm sure the pace will pick once I gather some momentum!
• While you're waiting for me to find that momentum and get this book finished, you'll find my three other books for writers, my memoir and my Q'ntana Trilogy of fantasy novels beckoning to you from most Amazon sites and from Kindle, iBook, Kobo and Nook stores worldwide.

The ink is barely dry on my newest book, From Memory to Memoir: Writing the Stories of Your Life, and I'm hard at work on my next book for writers, Organic Screenwriting: Writing for Film, Naturally, which is looking as though it's going to be quite the iconoclastic volume! Organic Screenwriting will also be my fourth(!) book on writing and my ninth(!!) book overall...an accomplishment I can't quite grasp! I won't list the full bibliography here, but you can find all my books, including From Memory to Memoir, on most Amazon sites (http://author.to/markdavidgerson) and in Kindle, Nook, iBook and Kobo stores worldwide.
• By the way, the Kindle editions of all my writing books are on sale this weekend: only US$2.99 apiece, or US$0.99 apiece with the Amazon purchase of the corresponding paperback version.

My Muse is certainly impatient about this new book on screenwriting I'm to be writing. Not only did I start on it last night (instead of waiting, as I had planned, at least until my new book on memoir-writing is released later this week), I got sent out today for a cover-photo shoot. This is the first time I have ever posed for a book-cover photo this early in the book-writing process!
• While you're waiting for "Organic Screenwriting: Writing for Film, Naturally" (not to mention "From Memory to Memoir: Writing the Stories of Your Life"), check out my two other books for writers, my memoir and my fantasy trilogy; they're all sold on most Amazon sites and in Kindle, iBook, Nook and Kobo stores worldwide

I announced here a few hours ago that this morning my Muse had ordered me  to start on my new Organic Screenwriting book immediately, despite my plan to wait at least until my memoir book hits the bookshelves in a week. Clearly, my interpretation of "immediately" doesn't match my Muse's: I had planned to give myself Sunday off and start work tomorrow. In this as in all things in my life, however, The Muse is Boss: An hour ago, just as a refresher, I pulled out the notes from the Organic Screenwriting workshops I facilitated a few years ago and, before I realized what I was doing, I was making notes for the book! If this is any indication, perhaps the totally unrealistic deadline I set myself to finish what will be my 9th book is not so unrealistic after all!

Celebrating Broadway's Antoinette Perry Awards, 67 years old today. The first Tony awards ceremony was held on this day in 1947 in the Grand Ballroom of New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, when ceremony plus dinner could be had for only $7.50 ($77.21 in 2013 dollars).

From the "My Muse Must Be Crazy" Dept, aka the "Good News for Those of You Awaiting My Planned Screenwriting Book" Dept. -- Not for the first time in recent years, my Muse has dismissed my plans to take a break between books. I haven't even received the proofs for "From Memory to Memoir" (although they're on their way and the book should be available by next weekend), but I'm being pushed (bullied? coerced?) into starting "Organic Screenwriting"!! The full title will likely be "Organic Screenwring: Writing for Film, Naturally" and, at this rate, it could be out next month!! A writer's work is never done....

Celebrating the cell phone today: It was on April 3, 1973 that Martin Cooper, credited with inventing the mobile phone, made the first cell call, in New York City. It took ten more years before the first "mobile" phone was commercially available: It weighed two pounds, offered 30 minutes of talk time and took 10 hours to charge; it cost US$3,995 (which, in today's dollars, would be more than $10,000).

I just saw the digital proof of the new book and it looks terrific! Now I'm waiting for a physical proof, which I should have next week. Assuming it's okay (and I haven't had any issues with any of my other books, so I'm sure I won't with this one), From Memory to Memoir: Writing the Stories of Your Life (my 8th book and third for writers!)  will be on sale by the end of next week! VERY exciting!

I know I shouldn't be surprised, but I am: "From Memory to Memoir: Writing the Stories of Your Life" is finished!! Barring any unforeseen problems at the proofing stages, my newest book (my 8th!!) should be out and available (in both paperback and ebook) within the next week or so. Why am I surprised? Well, some of the goals I intuit seem so unreasonable that I can't help but doubt...but then I always meet them! You'd think I'd have learned to trust them (and myself) by now. I'm getting better...but I'm not quite there yet!!

This is SO cool: I have a friend who has repeatedly sworn to me that she will NEVER, EVER write a memoir so, knowing she that wouldn't be distracted by the book's content, I gave her a copy of the almost-final version of From Memory to Memoir to proofread. Apparently, the book is so inspiring that she had barely read half the manuscript when she grabbed a notepad and began making notes toward a memoir that she now HAS to write! Wow!!

If this is a meaningful coincidence (i.e. synchronicity), it's a pretty interesting one...even if I don't know what it means: My mother's death (March 26, 1984) and The MoonQuest's birth (March 28, 1994) are almost exactly a decade apart. After all these years, it was only today that I noticed the nearly shared 10-year-apart anniversary...

I woke up this morning annoyed with myself for having forgotten yesterday's 30th anniversary of my mother's passing. The Hebrew and secular calendars rarely align, so I didn't expect that they would align this year. But I checked anyhow and discovered, to my amazement, that according to the Hebrew calendar, TODAY is the anniversary! So I didn't miss it at all!

To mark the occasion and honor my mother, I offer this excerpt from Acts of Surrender: A Writer's Memoir, where I write about her death...

"If my mother's soul had already vacated her body, I am certain now that it had not yet left the room. I didn’t believe in souls and spirits in those days, but in revisiting that scene as I write this, I know that the limp hand I held was somehow also holding mine, that the Esther she had once more become was waiting to be sure that my sister and I were all rightb... more »

From the interview I did this week for Sandy S. Bazinet's "Signing In" blog ...

Q / What’s most rewarding about writing?

A / I have two complementary answers to that question First, writing from a place of total surrender to the work opens me to parts of myself and parts of the world that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to touch. While that’s not always a comfortable journey, it’s always a transformational one and it’s always rewarding. Second, it’s rewarding to know that the work I produce from that way of creating inspires others to do likewise.

When I saw this pic of me, taken during a recent talk on writer's block, I was reminded of this excerpt from my Acts of Surrender memoir.
"Isa's family and ours grew closer when Isa moved to the Sedona area, a friendship that in late 2003 would see the three of us launch a nondenominational metaphysical Sunday service we called The Oneness Center. Our initial plan was for Isa to deliver the minister-like message, for Q’nta to lead the music and for me to guide congregants in a meditation. When Isa later offered to step aside so I could give the Sunday talk, I readily accepted. Not only was inspirational speaking a direction I wanted to pursue, but the opportunity also reminded me of a peculiar portent I had experienced in the Agape International Spiritual Center parking lot a few years earlier: It was a Wednesday morning and the church parking lot was largely empty as Q’nta and Iret... more »

Mr. Minister? Not! ...

There's a great story in Acts of Surrender: A Writer's Memoir that has me walking through the parking lot of the Agape International Spiritual Center in L.A. one weekday morning: A woman rushed up to me and asked, "Are you the minister?" Well, I wasn't then, and I'm not now -- as spiritually grounded as all my teachings and writings tend to be.

This pic was taken in a church...but that just happens to be where a large regional writer's group (SouthWest Writers) holds its meetings; I was the guest speaker that day, offering surefire ways to free up your writing and creative flow, borrowed from my Writer's Block Unblocked book.
