Our Paean, the birth of a new year and the turning of pages in life´s tardigradous conversations
Arctic Sunrise - Year 4.5 Billion, Pt 3

Our Paean, as it was seen from a time beyond Ragnarok, from when we traveled back to the beginning of it all, standing on the shores of Yggdrasil

Out of my, shallow grave
You raise me from the soil,
with your
haunting words that play
on the senses of the

that warms my soul

with your tongue
that is so very skilled and sensuous,
You call me up

To dance beneath
the ever tree
to the right of you
For all

your

When protein face off with protein, what comes out on top? Red meat, plants, nuts, dairy?. And how will it impact health, strength and even the effects of old age.
The short answer: Enough daily protein is what matters, not the actual source

In a recently published study, we got to take a pretty comprehensive look at nearly 3,000 men and women all aged between 19 and 72.
The study participants complete protein intake as well as all the various protein and food sources they consumed was measured.

Including various dairy products, red meat and the healthier fish & chicken and plant-based protein sources. Beyond that, the study also made sure to measure each participants lean muscle mass, their bone density, and individual strength.

In a recently published study, we got to take a pretty comprehensive look at nearly 3,000 men and women all aged between 19 and 72.

Including various dairy products, red meat and the healthier fish & chicken and plant-based protein sources. Beyond that, the study also made sure to measure each participants lean muscle mass, their bone density, and individual strength.

The takeaway?.

When looking at the complete study, it was evident ( and to no surprise ) that the less protein you consumed the lower amount of muscle mass and strength. But to the surprise of some, the type of protein each person favored did not have any impact on their strength and musculoskeletal health, and there were no differences based on gender or age group.

So keep active, eat healthy and make sure to include enough protein, and yeah, skip that red meat based protein right away because it provides zero benefit for anyone.

The older you get, the more important protein becomes.

In other words, this study further reinforces what we already knew.
The older you get, the more important it becomes for you to keep active on a daily basis and to make sure that you get enough protein in your daily food to maintain your health and lean muscle mass.

Naturally sedentary people will lose lean muscle mass not just from the natural aging process but also because of the accumulation of sitting still, and that continuous buildup will never pause, and instead it will ramp up, continuing to take it´s toll the longer you keep up that sedentary daily life.

Two very bad things when put together, and as we age the bad effects of sitting still and eating to little protein get exponentially worse, but by adding protein to your daily food intake beyond the recommended daily levels you actually improve your chances of maintaining a healthy body and strength all through life.

And now we know that the source of the protein seems to matter very little, the amount of it has much more weight when it comes to your own health and fitness.

Something to take note of, both for the healthy and fit individual planing for a fit and fun and long life of health and quality living all until the very end and, of course, the entire health and elderly care field should pay attention to.

Kelsey Mangano, PhD, assistant professor of nutritional sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, had this to say about the study.

“As long as a person is exceeding the recommended daily allowance for protein, no matter the ( protein ) source in their diet, they can improve their muscle health,”

Considering the negative health and environmental impact of red meat, this also becomes another good study and reason as for why people should make sure to get much more of their protein intake from plants, fruit, nuts, chicken and ecological sugar-free dairy products. And as always, you can find a link to the study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in my website article.

Enjoy the rest of your healthy and fit day :).

Summary

Eat plant and sugar-free, organic dairy products, nuts and fruit, chicken ( and non-polluted fish that isnt overfished.. good luck with that btw :P ) but avoid red meat.

And if you are interested in getting the low down on my complete thoughts on the fabulous shoulder exercise, barbell shoulder press, hit the link and head on over to 'a Norse View' to dive, deep into my complete website article.

If not, enjoy the workout :). And this short summary.

Barbell shoulder press with the barbell in front of your head is my personal shoulder fav. It targets virtually your entire shoulder region, including chest and arms and traps, and as such, it is one of the key compound exercises for a well developed and healthy for life and fit upper body.

Keep the weight to a challenging 8 - 14 rep interval, and work those shoulders hard but strict.

Keep the weight to a challenging 8 - 14 rep interval, and work those shoulders hard but strict.

The only reason I do it in front of my head, instead of behind is discomfort, I simply do not like this exercise half as much when I do it behind my neck, but beyond that personal aspect, it is totally the same exercise, well the minuscule and almost non-existent differences are to small to create any real health and strength difference.

So pick what feels more natural for you, but perhaps consider that those super tiny differences do create issues for way more people when doing this barbell exercise behind their head and with zero added benefit.

So generally speaking my vote is, do barbell shoulder press worry free in front of your head.

Page 10 and the silent slumber.
The meaning of life & a photograph.

If a photo is a thousand words or more, then there could in truth be an endless stream of emotional responses to every photo ever taken.
Doors opening, worlds colliding, emotional responses, memories triggered, feelings left forgotten resurfacing, or new impressions formed.

Perhaps as such, a photograph is not just a frozen moment captured in time.
Perhaps it also carries that moment in time within itself, the sensory balance of what we felt, what we feel and see, the memories we create and associate to every little day and moment in the flesh.
Perhaps, even in the colors and the tonality, the way the highlights merge with the shadows and darker shades.

When the silence speaks through the void, In the heart of the forest.

While for your neighbor those blinking stars are just a grain of sand from a distant beach of billions upon billions of possibilities, worlds, and emotional responses and visual triggers, experiences waiting to traverse the unknown to us.
Or from us to them.

One man´s tomorrow could for you, be just another day that abruptly starts with the alarm buzzing loudly in the morning only to end hours later with your exhausted head hitting the pillow.
But for someone else, that today which for you was so meh, might be when life becomes truly fulfilled, like if a door had opened to a land of vivid imagination and fairy tale like moments waiting to unfold.

A silly poem

[ When

the silence speaks ]

When the silence speaks through the void, In the heart of the forest
Where we once met

A creek still lingers, the firm entrenches of winter it fights.
As the freezing cold, claws it´s way towards its core

Soon
A silent slumber, it once again, dreams, in the still depths,
life inside waits to be warmed again, nursed and re
birthed in the creaking
of ice that breaks

We colonize and shape the very fabric of the alien entity we call the moon with Earthborn biological life and air, traveling from our blue marble all the way to the moon through the dark void on the winds of the sun.

The flight across the black void and Kaguyas observations.

Kaguya, a Japanese lunar orbiter observed a few years ago, countless of ions whenever the Moon was shielded over the course of five days per month in planet Earth’s protective plasma sheet.
Considering the penetration depth of ions loaded with such energy, and the nature of Earth’s upper atmosphere, the conclusion is that terrestrial oxygen has continuously been transported to the Moon all the way from planet Earth on the powerful magnetic wind that is created when Earth shield the moon from the even more powerful and destructive solar wind.

I mean, how cool is not that? Biological Earth matter, oxygen, and particles, life itself created by our own planet, has continued to be showered for billions of years onto the surface of our moon, actually changing the very surface and evolution of our billion-year-old alien companion.
And as such, when we look up at the moon, we are not just seeing another celestial object hovering around us, but in reality it is a far away space rock which once upon a time was created through one or several massive planetary collision(s) between Earth and one or several unknown space bodies.

But not only did Earth help create that cute little man in the moon thing, once that vile bacteria horde had created the oxygen we all breathe down here by first causing the very first mass extinction, we have, ever since, kept showering our lunar companion for all this time with oxygen and biological matter all the way from Earth.
And is that not a little bit smile-inducing knowing that our ancient pal may still contain billions of year old air, bacteria, and stuff from Earth, buried on the present-day lunar surface.
Dig deep down and take a deep breath of pre-dino Earth air.

Well, that thought makes me marvel at least :).

Two or more, planets came together billions of years ago, forming Earth and the moon and our mutual tug and pull bond as we know it today, with the flow of the changing sea down here, the way our planet tilt, and ever "mutating" lunar soil as the result.
Two space bodies floating through the milky way galaxy, separated but living together, forever.

And something short about SMM J2135-0102

All while over in the recently discovered galaxy SMM J2135-0102 we have detected a cluster which creates new stars at a pace that would require the milky way galaxy to have an energy output equivalent to 250 suns, and it is keeping this star producing pace all year long.

Well, you have to factor in that what we are looking at right now, is how SMM J2135-0102 functioned 10 billion years ago!. Because that is how long its distant light has taken travelling to us. So as you close your eyes tonight, just imagine the wondrous way life in that incredible galaxy has evolved over 10 billion years.

Yeah, life is amazing. And we really need to develop better tools to look at and explore other galaxies than waiting for its light to reach us after 10 billion years, because I am damn curious to know what is going on right at this very moment at SMM J2135-0102 :).

Book: '1984' by George Orwell, a timely sci-fi read in the reign of Donald Trumps alternative world. This is a several days long read.
The lie of the leaders became the truth of the people.

1984 is a pretty outlandish, yet perfectly plausible, and well written dystopian nightmare from the sci-fi world of totalitarian leaders with a sense for alternative facts.

Enjoy the read no matter if you read the digital streaming version at our 'a Norse View' library or buy the printed version from Penguin House.

Fitness equals better short term & lifelong health, but just as poor fitness equals worse health, you can also be to fit for maintaining optimal health
Being to fit only apply to extremely fit and active people so do not take it as an excuse to go lazy this week

In this short article, we will use a super fit and competitive athlete as the example. Because that is how fit and active, and extreme, you need to be to get to fit and extreme for your own good. So perhaps, we should remind our collective selves that real health and fitness is about balance in everyday life.
You achieve better health and fitness by enjoying life, keeping active on a daily and weekly basis, eating healthy food not once per week but most of the time in life.

Maintaining and improving your capacity and health by using your body and mind physically speaking.

World class, competitive athletes are rarely healthy so be inspired by them but do not aspire to reach the same levels.

All while normal people in the gym and at work, those that work out in the gym, and eat healthy food can and will achieve wonderful improvements in body, mind, and health.

Usain Bolt never trains sprints to achieve better life-long health, for instance, in fact, the way he trains in his quest to break world records is both unhealthy and impossible for the human body to cope with for more than a few years, and often leaving long lasting issues behind.

And worth noting with this article.
The "off season - all year round" health and fitness values are of course at a perfectly fit and athletic level and much healthier compared to the extreme "cut" version.

So if you take any inspiration with you from this article, be inspired by those perfectly fit and healthy offseason all year round levels. They represent health and fitness for the men out there to achieve as their own all year round fitness and health level.

The athlete´s health and fitness level start to suffer as he goes over the top with cutting down his body fat levels from a perfectly fit and toned, and healthy 15% to an unsustainable and unhealthy 4.5% over the course of 6 months.

Leading to lower amounts of strength, testosterone, insulin and higher levels of cortisol. Even tho the actual changes in his body are really small.

As expected he does not just lose body fat but also a few kg of lean body mass ( ie: not fat ). Something that happens to every man and women that try to do the same small but unhealthy change, caused by going from super fit and toned and healthy to extremely cut, but unhealthy and less fit.

Making it a pretty nice example of fit and healthy vs going stupid and unhealthy.

Balance is the key in achieving lifelong health & fitness.
And of course, this athlete only went this low and unhealthy with his food and body for a limited 6 month period.

So with that said, keep at it, every day, and every year and keep that healthy balance with food and fitness all life long. Do not jump up and down going from one extreme to the other, just keep at it at a steady and enjoyable, healthy pace and level which you enjoy doing. Thrive for your own lifelong health and fitness goals by accepting that health and fitness is nothing but facts and science walking hand in hand with enjoying life.

Bodyweight:
all year 100 kg ( 220lbs ),
6 month cut 90 kg ( 198 lbs ).

Bodyfat:
all year 15%
cut 4.5%

Lean body mass:
all year 88 kg ( 194 lbs )
cut 85 ( 187 lbs )

pulse:
all year 53
cut 27

Blood pressure:
all year 132/69
cut 104/56

Testosterone:
all year 9,22
cut 2,27

Cortisol:
all year 10,52
cut 21,07

Insulin:

Strength:

The tick and tock of living

Some look up at the sky and wonder.
Some take care to write a string of words with meaning.
Some write music that tug at the string of hearts and black holes.

Some paint, some kiss, make love, climb mountains, dive and fall through clouds. Some run, lift weights, grow food and wonders.

Some listen, some talk, some wonder about you and why people seem to not read, or talk in a real way these days.

But

There is simply nothing you and I or google or anyone can do to make people read, and think, and properly see.

They do not have the time to actually pause in their life for long enough to truly take in another person´s thoughts and writing, in fact, no matter what you write, do, or produce, people just want to see shiny new things float by in their life. And by now, they will never pause to actually take in the essence of you.

No time given no real thought, it´s just how people live today.

And as such it is a little bit of a hilarious conundrum that people want other people of flesh and blood, content creators if you so may, to create endless hordes of life and content with real meaning each day.

Content from and about life that they will never ever actually look, read or listen too ( in a real way ), not to mention, feel and experience.

People today are sort of autonomous, and autonomous beings of blood and flesh, chisel, gold, and copper, just want 1 million identical posts to float by in life each day, all talking about the latest smartphone release, or showing the latest duck-faced selfie, and yet they will never actually consider, reflect and absorb a single thing out of the real stuff that makes up that content and life.

It is today, more as if people just want the tick in their life to go tock over seeing another post rack up the lifelong content clock those autonomous beings seemingly keep track on.

As if the actual number of content that float by in their life has a real meaning of itself.

So creating real content, and to pause in life, to take in and live fully alive and there, to see and listen, talk and converse, to think feel and create, whatever that might be, is really an act of defiance all by itself which every real artist simply do for our own sake.

Because no matter how you create or live, that world of people that actually pause and see the world, its wonders, color, the structure and texture and real content, that world and those people that live in that balanced way that we all create for, at large, it does not exist anymore.

People today do not see, hear, listen, feel or actually talk in a real way with all the other people on this planet.

They do not want that because they are to busy hitting up their addiction for endless amounts of more, whatever that more is :).

So once you have finished, talk to each other, pause to live, do, feel, engage and take in the real value of the moments that do pass you by.___

20 Jan 2017 got to be the historic day for when the raging Vikings of Sweden became a 10 million strong population.
a short historic population view

Sweden has exported large numbers of Vikings across the world and the European continent on numerous occasions, like when the Swedish Goths raged across most of Europe, walking up and down, left and right for numerous decades after having migrated out of their home in Sweden. A million people or so also left Scandinavia for the USA during the wild west years, and countless of long and strange war´s on the European continent for what amounts to hundreds of years thinned our Viking population on numerous occasions.

So it is more than likely that if we had exported fewer Vikings and embraced our current philosophy of peace earlier that we would have crossed the 10 million mark a long time ago.

But here it is.

population timeline

1749
Sweden reached 1 764 724 people in 1749.

1835
And we became 3 million strong in the year of 1835.

1897
Reaching 5 million in 1897 with rapid increases in birth rates and extended lifespan.

1923
WW1 did not hold back the population pace and we crossed six million in 1923.

1969
8 Million Vikings were reached in 1969.

2004
This was the year we crossed the 9 million barrier.

2017
And today, Jan 20, 2017 we sprinted across that 10 million line in a never before seen pace just 13 years after becoming nine million strong.

And the next step?

Well, Vikings obviously enjoy sinful pagan sex and healthy progress and quality living, so we are now looking forward to becoming 11 million as soon as 2024, just 7 years from now.

A host of studies has clearly shown us that no matter your current age if you over eat on food and live an unhealthy and sedentary life you are hurting the health of your brain as much as the rest of your body.

Point 1.

Sedentary and obese middle age people increase the biological age of their brain with 10+ years compared to what it should be. ( While healthy and active people lower their biological age in body and mind ).

Point 2.

No matter age, people are showing a clear correlation between a decrease in brain gray matter volume when living in an unhealthy and sedentary way.

Which is the direct opposite of what happened to 85-year-olds who lifted challenging weights, their brains became bigger and healthier and younger.

So treat the health and fitness capacity of body & mind equally well by making 2017 a healthier year in food choices and physical activity.

Camelopardalis is latin for 'The camel that could have been a leopard'.
Wildlife facts from the life of a Giraffe

One of planet Earth´s most unique land-living animals still roaming about in the wild also happens to be one of the cutest and most enchanting, and gentle colossuses that have ever existed. Yet, somehow, despite the towering size and unique characteristics of these majestic critters they are also one of the lesser talked about wildlife stars. And so it happens that by now they are like so many other species highly endangered without anyone really paying attention.

But perhaps that is the reward that life gave these majestic beings that float across the land they call home as if they are majestic land dwelling whales. A backseat in the human consciousness as we proceeded to decimate their global population with 40 or so % in less than 30 years.

The turning of a new year for Camelopardalis and Hominoidea.

And so as we turn the pages of another year, let us ring it in by talking about the camel marked like a leopard.
Cue the latin name, "Camelopardalis".

Which if you translate the gorgeous sounding latin name straight over to English comes out as the equally cute phrase "camel marked like a leopard".
Still wondering what kind of animal I am actually talking about?.

Well, wonder no more, because the friendly giant is none other than the Giraffe.
And perhaps we should start with that name? Because right now I am 100% convinced that your capable neurons are already rapid firing the obvious connection between the Giraffe and the Leopard. After all, they are both dotted in that very same, and beautiful way by nature's painter which makes the English name seem perfectly logical all of a sudden.

But those beautiful patches is not just there to reign supreme in the good look department. They serve an essential role too for the Giraffe´s health and longevity.

The Patches of the Giraffe.

Each patch on the fur of the Giraffe is actually surrounded by a sophisticated system of blood vessels which act as a biological thermal window that is primed to survey and control the Giraffe´s body heat. And so, recent thermal scans of giraffes have clearly shown us that the unique body heat is directly matching the pattern of each individual Giraffes spots.
Giving us what is essentially evolutions own version of a built-in smart and biological AC system capable of outdoing the smartest homes when it comes to keeping a perfect cool in the blazing heat for each individual.

The Giraffe is so well suited for its life amongst the giant trees and blazing sun that it does not even drink water every single day. On average they only choose to drink water every few days, getting most of what they need from the water inherent in the hundreds of pounds of greens they eat each week.

And just how do they get to those tasty and moist filled greens?

Well, the Giraffe, as you most likely already know, evolved from a more antelope looking animal that used to roam Africa a few million decades ago, and from there it grew its seven vertebrae long neck into something larger still that now dwarf almost all grown human adults, and as if that was not enough, at the end of it all, the Giraffe is not just throwing around a sun-proofed black tongue with its own antiseptic, but a tongue that reaches 50 centimeters further into the yummy acacia trees whose leafs it favors.

And so it is that the Giraffe wander our world more resembling a fantasy like enchanted animal than any other living thing.
And let us just hope that we all decide to stop killing it for its tail and 11-kilogram heavy heart, and its bone marrow and brain, which some wrongfully believe are capable of curing HIV.

Other threats that weigh heavy on the rapidly diminishing global population of Giraffe is the many violent conflicts raging between various human groups throughout its entire habitual range.
So as we learn more about the 2m body slam drop newborn Giraffe calves have to endure at the moment of birth, let us not just hope, but also work for peace on this planet, and increased scientific education and sustainable life on Planet Earth so that we still have a healthy Giraffe population in 30 years time.

Giraffe facts:
Name: Giraffa Camelopardalis
Size: 14 to 19 feet high ( 5 feet neck, and roughly 6 feet long legs )
Weight: Up to 2 800lbs
Sprint pace: The Giraffe can sprint at up to 35mph when needed, but prefer to travel at a lower pace for extended periods.
World Giraffe day: 21 June, every year.

The writer is, of course, by yours truly, while Johan got to show off his skills as the photographer behind this excellent photo since I wanted a photo of wild Giraffes for this post and we don't have that many wild Giraffes running around up here in the snow :).

Our lustful games, the sun that passed

Come good morning
To say, goodbye,
You raise me soon
Enough, to dance

In front of me.
The vastness of the arctic spreads it's wings over billabong and fields.
Snowy valleys and frost clad mountains. It is all illuminated and painted by the lingering nightly shadows. Dressed up to play in the cold and vibrant arctic scenery.
Fluffy white and deep ocean blue are the colors that mix so well with the pale red and yellow of the rising winters sun.

The scene that unfolds before my eyes this morning was given even more depth by the plume of misty winters fog that effortlessly reached out into the sky to greet the warming blanket of the winter sun.

Like a painter's pencil, the air and rolling hills turned into nature's most enchanting canvas. Wrapped all around me on this place where I now stood right next to this tree where we hand in hand in summer time barefoot walked through the tall green grass through the herds of flowers and wildlife.

The wings of crows and ravens and the mighty white-tailed eagles soared the sky above me this very day.
No doubt that they were looking for the tasty arctic rabbits that always roamed these fields of ours.
Or perhaps they tracked a Lynx or two, or a pack of wolves that silently made their way through the bushland, stalking our footprints that now laid frozen in the snow like a ghost, silent and unseen but always near and always undeniable there.

I looked up at the rising sun as it painted these vivid clouds and frozen land and I smiled, thinking of the sights that already lay waiting for you, my girl to discover as we walk these plains hand in hand.

Our Arctic Sunrise, Year 4.5 Billion - Pt 2

Anthropocene is a word I personally like. You encounter it quite often in the things I write and talk about. It is, in my opinion, a word that is as beautiful as it is powerful, and it is a word that shifts our entire world on its axis. Anthropocene is a word I personally like. You encounter it quite often in the things I write and talk about. This simple word encapsulates all that has progressed through human history, every single day of our global past and our shifting present day reality. It is our shared, mutual future.
The word Anthropocene goes far beyond geology and hard to understand science. It captures the simple thing that is all our reality, the way humanity has lived and the cause and effect of it all.
It also shows us the globally shared responsibility we all must shoulder. It is a word and a concept that defines the facts of our present day reality.

This single word provides a focused lens that captures the changing reality of human life and planet Earth. There are no obfuscated truths here, no shadows to hide within. Life in the Anthropocene is the simple truth of life on Earth and it is the summary of the catastrophic effect modern day society has already had and continues to have. Not just on this planet, whose planetary bounds we have broken and shattered. But the industrialization of the last 100 years has harmed human life too, not just a few, but all of us.

All the soon to be 10 billion homo sapiens and all the rapidly diminishing animals. We are all this single word.

It communicates the urgency with which we must act and it shows us how the lies and global capitalistic worldview of infinite natural resources and exponential growth that greedy shareholders and owners rejoice at must come to an abrupt end. It tells us these things because we are no longer a small entity on a big and everlasting, infinite planet. We, the human race, are now a cataclysmic devastation on a small planet, where we have reached the saturation point in the last 100 years.

One such truth is roughly 40% of all Giraffes being wiped out from planet Earth in the last 30 years, and no one even noticed it until now.

The turning of a new year.

And as such, I will now let you write all the needed thoughts and words. This is, after all, a new year and with that comes your own revelations. Your own will and choices are what comes into play, and that is what matters. So I will now let you write this story upon the background of reality's own data. Do with that what you want.

40% of all Giraffes have been wiped out by human hand in the last 30 years.

On average, the population of all vertebrate species has declined with 58% since 1970, and the pace is increasing!. By 2020 vertebrates might have hit a 67% decrease.

Current trends are that we individually eat more, 800kcal more per day and person in some nations compared to 1970 despite moving less, we pollute more, we consume more, we eat less nutritious food. All while we also increase our global population.

Billions of people already suffer from decades of shortened and sicker than needed lifespan due to human-caused pollution.

We, as a global species, already use natural resources that equal close to 2 planet Earth's if our yearly gluttony continues.
Since 1970, 50% of tropical broadland leaf forests have been destroyed and converted to human resources.
Close to 50% of temperate grassland area had been converted to human resources by 2000.
The European grassland butterfly indicator shows us that since the historical low of butterfly species in the 1990 grassland butterfly species have continued in average to decline with a further 33% since then.

There are rays of hope tho.
Thanks to hard work and natural fortresses across Europe going hand in hand with a growing focus on sustainability in all areas of modern day life across the 28 member states of the European Union, in the last few decades some notable big carnivores in Europe, including bears, lynx, wolverines and wolves have mounted a small but hopeful comeback.
And that is all our hope, that is the way we turn the entire world around. By continuing that work, by fortifying our focus on sustainable societies, a healthy world and healthy people and wildlife.

So none of this global destruction has to continue.
The hundreds of millions of additional diabetes case, and cancer, the obesity, the destruction of fish, cheetahs, giraffe, tigers, people. None of that has to continue, and it can't continue if we care about the future of not just planet Earth but the human race and our own individual life and health as well.

Healthier food production, healthier food choices, less red meat consumption, less soda, less fossil fuel, better and healthier food in the elderly care. More physical activity from the cradle to the grave. Less pollution in soil, water, air. Healthcare, industries, energy production, cars and transport. Education. Equality and a livable income for all.
All of these changes are easy to implement. But that is your story. That is your chapter to write. As a global species, we are all writing that chapter right now as the individuals we all are.
Write it well because we are all the authors of our present day and future life and we are writing this story together.

The many health benefits of daily sunlight exposure. New study shines a light on increased T cell capacity and daylight.

The TLDR Sunshine
& it´s many health benefits.

We all know that natural sunlight helps our body produce essential Vitamin D. And today we also know that a small, daily dose of natural sunlight is equally beneficial for our mood and mental well-being, it helps us improve and maintain our bone health all through life. Reduces cancer risk and strengthens our immune system, possibly through the increase in the capacity of T Lymphocytes that daily sunlight exposure has proven to give rise to.

In short, get a small 20 to 60 minutes dose of outdoor daylight, every day, all year round all through life.

Kick the lazy bug in the ass and just get some daily exposure outside in the sun. 20 - 60 minutes per day.

In short, get a small 20 to 60 minutes dose of outdoor daylight, every day, all year round all through life.

Kick the lazy bug in the ass and just get some daily exposure outside in the sun. 20 - 60 minutes per day.

It is that essential for lifelong health in body and mind. No matter if you are a sedentary and unhealthy person or a kick ass fit and active super food eating beast :).

To the surprise of some perhaps, make sure that the daily 20 to 60-minute exposure is free of protective sun-blockers.

The longer read

In other words, daily sunlight is not just good for the Vitamin D it will help your body produce, it will also aid your longevity and health by kicking your T cells into a higher gear.

Georgetown University Medical Center scientists have found in a recent study that sunlight, on top of increasing natural vitamin D production and melanin, also stimulate T cell production and capacity. T cells actual name is T Lymphocytes and they play a vital role in our immune system.

The study´s been published in Scientific Reports. And the link can be found down below.

"We all know sunlight provides vitamin D, which is suggested to have an impact on immunity, among other things. But what we found is a completely separate role of sunlight on immunity,"
- Gerard Ahern, PhD, associate professor in the Georgetown's Department of Pharmacology and Physiology. "Some of the roles attributed to vitamin D on immunity may be due to this new mechanism."

Georgetown University

[ "researchers found

that sunlight

- T cell production,

The study specifically found that low levels of daily sunlight make T cells move faster in their response to various issues inside our bodies.
"T cells, whether they are helper or killer, need to move to do their work, which is to get to the site of an infection and orchestrate a response,"
"This study shows that sunlight directly activates key immune cells by increasing their movement."
- Gerard Ahern.

Let us point out one obvious thing here tho.
This is not changing the fact that too much exposure to daily sunlight is harmful and can lead to cancer.
But for anyone looking to keep a healthier lifestyle going forward, as I have pointed out on plenty of occasions last few years, make sure to include a low paced walk outdoors, every day for every year. That low paced walk is a source of health benefits, and so is the daylight you will get to enjoy.

Including the fact that daily exposure to sunlight, preferably earlier in the day will help you maintain the healthier and biologically natural day night cycle our entire body/mind system have evolved for.

Directly related to this is another, ongoing study showing us that exposure to low doses of daily sunlight might be able to help your body better fight off various health issues that are often related to people's unhealthy & sedentary lifestyle choices. Right now it is looking as if a vitamin D deficiency makes the negative health impact of obesity even worse, leading in a higher degree to diabetes, and liver and heart diseases. While the opposite seems to hold true that a person that maintain a healthy vitamin D level will withstand the negative health impact slightly better.

In other words, this is one more thing related to Vitamin D and daily sunlight exposure that should be equally interesting for fit and active people as well as sedentary individuals wishing to improve upon their longevity and healthy lifespan. I won't dwell on that tho since that study needs to progress further before we can safely say that vitamin D and daily sunlight really do help with those areas of our health. On the other hand, it fits right in with all the scientific facts regarding our health and wellbeing which we already know so there is no reason to assume that this study will not conclude in a few more years that Vitamin D and daily sunlight exposure help improve these important health aspects too.

Merry xmas and a happy winter solstice and new years eve to you all

Today we witnessed the sun at its lowest flying point of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, a glorious day called winter solstice. It is a juxtaposing day of newborn light and hope as well as the darkest day of the year with the shortest amount of daylight to be seen and felt. Well, in some places there is, of course, no daylight at all.

Here in the Arctic, in the northern winter realms, polar night is in full swing this time of the year and the sun will not reappear in a real and proper way until 2017 have properly taken hold.

Life, like the winter solstice, is this unfolding string of biological chains, for some, an endless and beautiful field of swaying grass, choke full of options and hope and room for differing opinions and point of views in each gentle breeze and moving tree branch.

But for some, life is but a single chain that provides them with no room to move and evolve, a non-movable object that make it near impossible to change or comprehend that each day set its own layered path of stones.

Or if you so will, each day forge new links in that chain of events that once fully lived, is what will be the life we have chosen to make and for some that is limitless growth and possibilities, but for some that is a linear and hurtful path.

In 2011 the entire galaxy, NGC 4845, suddenly brightened by a factor of a thousand as astronomers watched the unfolding events of a black hole awakening from decades of slumber to slowly taste and sensuous merge with a nearby celestial object over the course of several months.

Celestial objects that sort of made love on a galactic seismic scale.

You might wonder what a distant, far away love sick galaxy has to do with life for you and me as we stand here, proudly beneath the winter sun, tucked knee deep in snowy fields of starry nights.

But the light of that far away and brightly burning galaxy do paint our everyday life every second of every moment. It is for all eternity what greets our good mornings.
It perpetually shines its auburn light at night, and it touches life itself.
It grows it. Or burn and melt it.

It do so here on earth, as well as on countless of other planets.

So today we are counting down towards the summer. We do so while we hear the call of the wild as we rapidly approach year 5 in the 697 Olympic. And soon the sun will float majestically across the sky once more.
But for now, we have the northern lights, the winter sun and polar night to provide us with unbridled amounts of winter beauty.

The observation

[ "was completely

unexpected

from a silent galaxy

- Marek Nikolajuk,

University of Poland" ]

And yet, as grand as that is, and it certainly is, it might not have any real significance to your life in the big apple or the plain fields of Kenya. And that is perfectly okay to think and feel.
Life is always what we make it out to be, it is as beautiful as we choose to view it. Packed full of unlimited potential, but life is also as limited as the walls and views we and others create around us through our everyday journey.

Life is your art, through and through that will always hold true. We are a global and conscious spieces, and the time has come to act like it. But we can never forget that we are all individuals, and as such we all have to enjoy a healthy life.

So no matter how your own journey is unfolding, we all share that seed that we can choose to plant every single day.

We can all choose to make a better tomorrow or to make life even less.
We can all choose to allow the slaughter of innocent people and endangered animals, not because it makes any sense at all to anyone, but because it is just how it is, according to some that is.

Or better yet, we can all choose to acknowledge that it is completely and utterly selfish and meaningless, a futile exercise in stupidity, fear, superstition and narrow-minded views with no real reason at all for it to take place at all.

Because that is how it is, injustice will always happen, but not because it should or have to. Injustice only exists because some are willingly putting their blinders on, and thus, giving that negative cause and effect room to exist.

Some will always choose to not see and touch the grand beauty of life, willingly ignoring the mesmerizing beauty that you hold with your hopes and wishes and needs.
Some will only see the lake of lacking light and perpetual darkness that is the winter solstice, and that is 100% okay.

People are free beings of emotional and intellectual river beds. River beds that fluctuate with the ebb and flow of life. We grow, evolve, change, learn and forget as completely individual islands, and that is how it needs to be.

But while some will only see the lack of light in the deep polar night, plenty more will see the life and the riches and glorious light and wonders that you can only find in the night and light of the winter solstice and its long lasting polar night.
Unsolved, yet, just hinted at, but not yet fully grasped possibilities and beauty. Because that is what the dark winter is. It is not a place void of life and beauty, it has endless amounts of it, they just look in a slightly different way than what we see in the summer and spring.

But life is abundantly rich with undiscovered treasures.
Such as life on other planets, sustainable energy, less wars and famine.

Some see the dangers in autonomous vehicles, and the jobs that will be lost. But some see the potential for a better world for all of us.
Some see a world not poisoned by short-sighted personal greed.
A world where people live longer, healthier, happier lives.

A world where we do not wipe out other species to feed ourselves their horns as we prey to lacking and selfish, even hateful and depriving gods that, even if they do exist, never cured or cared for anyone's cancer.

Well, life is all that. And life has room for all those different kind of people.
It is beautiful in all the chaotic and ever-evolving existence that is life for us all, life is always beautiful.

You might not see it, or be capable of appreciating it today. But come tomorrow, you just might see life for all that it is. When the industrialization happened in Europe and America terror and fear spread through the population with the least, the lower classes, the workers that faced increased poverty. All the ones that felt sacrificed and tossed to the side by that times Donald Trumps. They feared, revolted and caused harm and violence due to how they felt exploited and used up by the political and financial elite.

That was the cause and effect of that time. And the solution was not increased injustice and poverty, the solution was inclusive societies, people being able to live better lives, people being embraced and brought into a more fulfilling life.

The industrialization itself caused immense harm of course. And countless of people were indeed sacrificed by the Donald Trumps of that age and time.

But that was then and now is now.
And we do have to learn from what happened between the years of 1894 and the end of world war 1. Unemployed and angry workers murdered their way through Europe and America during that time. And the road forward is of course not increased injustice or a step backward towards the many issues and unhealthy industries of that time. That era had its own day and now the time is here to move forward. Into a healthier world, that also happens to be a far more inclusive world.

As we approach year 5 in the 697 Olympic ( 2017 ) it might be a good time to remind yourself that all the various cultures and religions, all the various scientific ideas and new found fields that have passed beneath the bridge of time, they have all, at times been the growing room for stupidity and narrow-minded views.

But most of them, perhaps all, have also been the growing room for grand ideas, open minds with views and bright souls that continuously work towards bettering life and society.

So no matter the current state, there are riches in life's still untold tomorrow, to be shared and enjoyed equally by us all.

By you and me.
You are of course free to restrict and limit life, to make it less as we still dance in the light of the winter solstice.
But you are also free to tap right into life's every potential and make it as beautiful as its ever could be for you and everyone else.

You are free to dance in the dark and light of the summer and winter solstice and make it whatever your secret inner dreams thinks that life truly should be for us all.

You are free to do that all while that distant light from far away suns and galaxies bounce around, touching us all down here and far away on other planets and species in this vast ocean that is life.

What you can not be free to do is to impose a life diminishing will on other human beings, however. That is not how you improve life, and that is not how to be a good human being.

ISIS, racism, bigotry, poverty, air pollution, fossil fuel choices instead of a clean and sustainable future, abusive religious views, FGM, honor killings, cancer, and Alzheimer's those are all found in the same pool of ancient history and hate, sickness and illness that we all need to leave behind us.

But you know what.
That is exactly what year 5 in the 697 Olympic will do, provide us with one more stepping stone towards a better future that contains less of all those bad and ancient old things that we are slowly leaving behind us.

2017 will of course also provide us with one more year to think real hard about how we make sure to not leave individual human beings behind as we progress away from fossil fuel and old school economy towards those better options.
Because we can not pollute our air and water, soil and food anymore.

Billions of people suffer due to that. Bad health, and shorter lifespans, poverty, ever increasing risks for decades to come. The time has come for us all to face the music of reality.

But as we do that, we can also not discount the risk of poverty and the severe unhealth that leads to. No one can overlook the fear that all the billions of people are facing as we progress away from that old world of hate and unhealthy choices.

So as we march onwards to a better society where cars safely drive themselves without hurting our lungs and health, as we place one more stone towards clean and healthy energy production that does not damage the air we breathe and the water we drink, we also have to make sure that we do not repeat the sins of our forefathers and simply toss all the actual human beings that are affected on the graveyard of progress.

We all need a healthier world. I think everybody on this planet actually knows that no matter what party they belong to.

But a healthier world is always a world that provides much better for all of us.
And that is what 2017 is, that is what today's winter solstice really is, and that is what autonomous cars, tesla, hyperloop, healthy food, better food distribution, better elderly care and healthy schools and workplaces really are.

Clean fusion, ever improving solar power, reduced pollution, less wasteful organizations, less poverty, less unhealthy food, better water production, and distribution.
That is our future, and we are already living in it.

But we are also living in a time where some are still kicking on sick and injured, turning their backs on war-torn areas and the old and poor. Like an endless tale stuck on repeat they are choosing to repeat the sins of the fathers.

We are still living with the oak of religion and class. People are still killing their sisters and lovers, and others, for their families and religions perceived honor. When in fact what they are doing is something that is both terribly inhumane and weak, and hateful, cowardly acts of hate and violence that shame their own families and life for all eternity.

We are still living with unhealthy red meat farms and lacking health care and an entire health industry focused on making money instead of actually curing real people. We still have people that believe that their fantasy-based religious ideas and political party lines are more important than actual human beings getting proper, science-based health care and fulfilling, healthy lives to live.

So no, we are not yet perfect. And we all know that.
But we are and will continue to slowly become better as long as we do not forget that the future is about our collective heart and humanity walking hand in hand with real and actual science and facts.
The future´s never been about illusions and myths and deprived lives.
It is not about delusions and made up ideas that are stuck in the past. Our global and individual future will always be about real evolving change and making life on and beyond Earth better and healthier for us all.

So from me to you, a merry xmas and a happy winter solstice to you all.
Enjoy the new year and make sure to make the next year better for yourself and everybody else too.

Book: 'Tarzan' a contemporary adventure through the wild of all men by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
No matter if you have seen the recent 'The legend of Tarzan' movie with Alexander Skarsgård and Margot Robbie or not, this, the first of the many books about Tarzan, is a book worth tucking yourself in bed with. The movie and book(s) differ enough to both be well worth it. And if you haven't seen the movie yet, why not use the recent North American polar vortex as an excuse to drift away on a very enjoyable 2-hour adventure, which in my opinion is one of the better tentpole movies of the last year.

And once done, if the cold persist, dip your toes in the first of the books that served as inspiration and source material :).

Enjoy!.
And have a safe winter solstice and new years eve.

We are all moments in time - like flowing tears in rain.
So why don't you take a few precious moments to slow down. View the day around you with wide open eyes and mind, breathe it all in and inhale the calming air and enjoy that taste of life which is unique for this one moment.

Somewhere and everywhere .. That you´d like yourself to wander.

To a place in time of the cold and the forgotten, in a place called Jamestown, Virginia USA.

The Starving time, this is not our island of dryads.

In the winter of 1610, a gruesome period simply known as the "starving time" in the area of Jamestown, Virginia.
Hundreds of colonists would succumb and perish under frozen blankets of powdery snow, some from hunger and hardships, while others would be flat out murdered.

Two legged meat sacks to be salted and barbecued once you had bled them dry.

That was not how life used to be, but this winter in Jamestown, Virginia had provided a different kind of hardship, the coldness broke their souls, and the autumn drought had destroyed their harvest and the blanket of ice and snow had swept in to tease them over to the long eternal sleep.

People either starved to live through another death or ended up dead victims, devoured like savory chicken meat, boiled over slow cooking fireplaces in what some historical data suggest was, up until that point in time, the worst drought and winter in 800 years of American history.

Historical records tell a tale surely made more fit for our modern day horror movies, or perhaps it simply is the nights mares of old wives tales come to life. One thing is for sure and that is that the historical accounts read like it was meant to scare little children and grown men to obey their elders for fear of the bogeyman which their primal imagination insists keep lurking outside their homes, waiting in the dark unknown to claim their heart and soul.

Words and fictional events meant to plaster our screens of white light and thrilling books that send chills down our spine as we carve our way through words on paper and translucent OLED screens.

The Hollywood-like scripts and dialogue behind the words of Jamestown colony leader George Percy whom wrote of a "world of miseries" were however not delusional fantasies of madmen and naughty priests.

No, it was in fact, the gruesome reality of starving citizens who had to suffer life another day as they unearthed rotten corpses from their cold and icy graves.

Not to burn them.
Not to fend off the black plague or other mounting diseases.

Instead what they did was dig the dead back up from the icy soil, just so they could carve the rotting flesh off of their decaying corpses.
Armed with pitchforks and knives, and driven by empty, hungry bellies they had but one goal each day, to feed upon the ones that had already died with the hope of seeing yet another day of misery.
Poverty and misery at its worst.

Days of despair and the digging of graves as they battled the cold relentless grip of winter.
Perhaps as they gathered around the burning logs and fireplaces nothing was said. Perhaps all the sounds and dialogue that could be heard inside their minds was spoken wordlessly of hell and death, all while father winter whispered to them in its soothing voice, clearly singing with a hollow wind, a cold, comforting lullaby that painted real life nightmares upon their minds in daylight and even colder nights.

Cold kisses from the depth of winter, telling them to simply fall asleep for all eternity.

Was it the end of humanity?
Perhaps not a thought to grace their mind, but surely.
The thoughts that end of life had come clad in winters veils, this winter had to rang within their growling tummies and fearful minds.

And sometimes, somehow things got even worse.
At one point, not even the feeding of the dead sufficed, and starving to death, not even finding enough dead corpses to feed upon, some soon resorted to killing each other as the ever increasing hunger turned men and girls into what could be likened to living zombies.

Having carved flesh from the dead at first, these people now looked for life in the warm bodies of the living, killing each other with the purpose of transforming their warm and gutted bodies into their own late night suppers.

Nothing was spared to maintain life this winter.
And with each passing hour, humanity and compassion were stripped away by the burning snow and empty insides.

Stay safe and warm out there people and have a jolly good xmas time :).

Light from artificial screens and windows bursting with luminescence from the sun outside did not touch her mind and eyes in that way.

No, her eyes did not even open, not just yet.
Not the way you imagine them to open.

Her body would keep adapting for years to the shock of being jolted back to a conscious waken state from its dormant veggie like dwelling.

But she did see the world now, her mind was clear and wide awake, oh the sounds she could hear for the first time in so many years. They pounced against the finer strands of hair on her body, head, and ears.

And the things her mind was flooded with, the visuals of an entire world came rushing against her like a torrent of white waters hurling down the greatest fall.

Sensors from the drones and the phone that was now all hers, and all the smart wifi-enabled gadgets in her vicinity already communicated directly with her brain. The damage done by the combination of her accident and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis was now gone.

And so, she was seeing the entire room, and all the people inside of it.

The Neural Engineering System Design kept feeding her synaptic nerves with strikingly vivid visuals and her entire surroundings lit up like a Christmas tree inside her neurological pathways.

And on the down low, behind it all, words kept whispering to her, words and videos, a stream of media from the hospital network kept being processed by her own digital AI assistant, laid out like a perfect dish in the sparse and rustic kitchen only she could see inside her own mind.

She was making tea with her assistant now, splendid, gorgeous tea. And the scent of it wet her taste buds, and she knew without a doubt that it would taste utterly divine once it was done.
But the world was silent, she tried to get her assistant to turn on her favorite Spotify playlist, but to no avail.

The people in her room kept pointing to the digitized floor to ceiling wall where the OLED tapestry slowly displayed a walk through a lush, arctic landscape. A woman to her right touched the wall and said, 'can you hear us'?.

'If you can, can you say hello. Or something.'

Minutes passed as the assistant kept talking to her.

Informing her of her own medical situation, the rejuvenating work the 're youth' blood plasma breakthrough had started doing on her liver, mind and lean muscle mass, and how the neurons that had failed her 18 years ago would continue adapting and integrating her entire body with her new and connected life.

It talked to her about the weather, her extended family, the hospital and DARPA, the neural cyber network implant inside her mind which translated the visuals and data-transfer bandwidth between the human brain and every connected technological device in her own vicinity.

It talked to her about the hospital she was staying at, the team of doctors that had worked on her. She got to know them all, even neuroscientist Andrew Schwartz from the University of Pittsburgh who had pioneered some of the breakthroughs that had led to this day.

The AI gave a brief description of how Trump had derailed the world's climate change work with global catastrophic results as the outcome, and it talked to her about the bio-organic WiFi and nanobots inside of her.

And beneath the womans fingers, the arctic walk came to a halt in front of a majestic emperor penguin.

Characters slowly typed started to appear on the wall, right to her finger.
"I..", was followed by a several minute long pause, before in a fluid stream the font changed in both size and type and place as it simultaneously spat out.

.... "Spotify, they, you, god damn, unblock the firewall, I want my music!."

The entire room started laughing, 'welcome, welcome' ' oh my god, she is awake', laughter and a bubbly emotional wave raptured inside the room, someone cried, someone laughed, someone almost collapsed into a chair from the immense relief.

They had made it.

The Alpine swift is a migrating bird that enjoys one vast home stretching over the two continents of Africa and Europe. Two vast and separated continents that the Alpine bird will insist is in truth its own singular home.

The amazing thing, mind blowing even if you ask me.

For the Alpine Swift, Europe, is the nesting place, where it breeds and enjoy life more like a normal bird.

Which I guess make Europe the Alpine Swifts bedroom and living room :P, because that is the only continent where it actually, you know.. Lands, to rest, breed and eat.

The other home, the Alpine Swift gym

Africa, the Alpine swifts other home away from home here on Earth, can best be described as it´s fit and active gym room because that is the place where it spends 6 months per year without ever landing.

Yes, as far as we know, no one in Africa will ever get to see the Alpine Swift land, neither to eat or sleep or do any kind of normal bird things while it is resting its tiny little feets and wings down on solid ground.

Despite spending half of the year in Africa the Alpine Swift apparently never stop soaring on the currents of air.

It eats and sleeps up in air!.
How about that? Imagine running and walking non-stop for 6 months and for every hill we pass by we close our eyes and let our legs carry us downhill while we catch a short nap :).

The bird somehow manages to stay airborne for 200 straight days, feeding on aeroplankton in midair and catching naps while still in flight, and once that gigantic Crossfit challenge has been put to the test, it returns to Europe's pleasant summers, to once again take part in every day birdlife, nesting and living on ground as well as air.

For full disclosure´s sake.
No, at this point in time, it is of course not 100% possible to say that some Alpine Swift´s never, ever lands even just for a minute or two while spending it´s six months in flight vacation time in Africa. It could very well be that a sick or exhausted Alpine Swift bird do land. That would not shock me.

But, so far in life, not a single Alpine Swift have been found, even once, to touch down on a tree branch or the ground while in Africa, not even for a single moment.

And that to me, is quite a mind blowing feat :).

No, it will not do wonders for my leg development, heck, I am not even looking to improve strength or size, I am happy the way it is. But mentally it provides a tiny change in my workout, making the leg days less daunting, way less, and workout wise, it might even allow me to keep the weights and intensity higher over the entire week. At least that is how it feels for me after doing it like this for this week.

So nothing bad or major will come out of it, but lots of good body and health benefits over time, because, no matter if you are working out to maintain your body and health or to improve upon your current health and fitness levels. Grow stronger or bigger or quicker, or healthier. No matter if you only train for keeping body fat down, or whatever.

It´s always about one thing, doing it for the rest of your life.

Or at least as long as you enjoy being toned, fit and healthy. Diets don't fail, lifting weights do not fail, they never do.

The result of eating healthy and working out simply go away when you stop doing those things because it´s 100% ephemeral, the ups, as well as the downs.

Which is why small changes at times make for wonderful long-term benefits because they allow us to mentally check in and keep doing it day in, day out, decade in, and decade out. And that continuation is what gives real, long lasting results.

My new workout routine is as follows:

Monday: Cardio only ( morning walk + high paced mma workouts )
Tuesday: Deadlift, Lunges, and very low impact MMA.
Wednesday: Morning walk, Chest, squat, hip thrust, abs.
Thursday: Cardio only ( Morning walk + high paced MMA or sprint workout )
Friday: Shoulder, abs, low impact cardio
Saturday: Back + high paced MMA or Sprint workout.
Sunday: Biceps, triceps, low impact cardio.

Remembrance day for lost species

This article could have done with a photo of Martha, the last passenger pigeon the world would ever see, or perhaps a Tasmanian tiger. Perhaps I could have used a photo of the great auk, a beautiful bird we decided to swipe away from the face of this planet just so we could use its final strips of flesh as fish bait.

But since neither of those species exist anymore, for no other reason than the tendency of people to not wish to see the outcome of their selfishly grounded reasoning, people thinking it their own selfish right to act with impunity, well because of that I can't of course take a photo of any of those beautiful animals because they do not exist anymore. Not for natural reasons, that would have been perfectly ok, life is after all just life but they are gone for man made choices.

And that is not ok.

You see, today, November 30 is the annual 'Remembrance Day for Lost Species'. A day to contemplate the choices our species make and the way we change life for everybody else and this entire planet by the things we chose to do.

This day is, of course, about all those poor people & species we have already lost to our own short-sighted and selfish choices. But I think that what is even more important is that this day is also about you and me, and all of humanity and the choices we make together today and tomorrow.

The past is the past, and no one can change that. But we can learn from it and we can see what past choices did to this planet and our life today.
So with that in mind.

The passenger pigeon that´s us.
What we did to the passenger pigeon is what we do with each other.

It´s the tigers of the world, the neanderthals, it´s the grandkids of homo sapiens. The Donald trumps and it is the rising sea, it is air pollution, lacking elderly care, lead in our drinking water, the homeless invisible, it is life today and tomorrow.

And like the demise of the Tasmanian tiger, our life today and tomorrow is about the outcome of the choices we make together. The choices our forefathers already did, the choices we do today. The things we will opt to do come tomorrow.
We live in remarkable times where paralyzed people are able to start seeing and communicate, walk and talk and interact with the entire world.

We are building platforms to other worlds, and each other. Our minds can soon see the connected world and reach out through fiber optics and neural networks.
And all this is amazing, pure and simply put amazing.

But we are also living with the result of the passenger pigeon, the 1.8m sea level rise of coastal lines around the world that could happen before 2100, that is the result of the passenger pigeon's demise. We did not just kill a bird, we altered the entire world by all of the choices that led to its demise.

When we work together to create a healthier world by making healthier choices, that is we making sure that there are no more passenger pigeons going extinct, it is us making sure 10 billion people do not suffer come tomorrow, it is us making sure that we wake up breathing a tiny bit better air December 1 and possibly having a sea level rise of no more than 20cm come 2050.
It is us making sure people get to live long, fulfilling lives with healthy food to eat and living. People deserving of decades of joyful years to spend their own way, all throughout life.
It is us saying that, yes we deserve that. We all do.

But it is also all of us saying that, guess what, we do not just deserve that, it´s also good business. A better world, and healthier living, that is what is good business, it's better business even.

Better business for all of us.

This day is us saying that the demise of clean air and the passenger pigeon, that is not good business, it does not give us a better world and those choices never gave anyone a healthier life.

That is what November 30 truly is about. But the passenger pigeon is also worth remembering because some people still claim that its demise is progress instead of all the stupid and selfish choices it serves as an example of, the same people will tell you that climate change is a hoax and that expanding coal despite all its destructive and unhealthy effects on all of us is somehow better than continually building a world of healthier, and happier people.

And that is why this day of remembrance is worth doing and why it is not just about the Tasmanian tiger and Martha the pigeon, but equally much this day, Nov 30, is a day for all of us, our contemporary life and all our health. Our choices in sustainable living, clean energy production, equality between gender, race, class, and sexuality, it is about a dignified and healthy life. Peace and equality between our planet and homo sapiens.

The simple essence of this day and all of humanity is that 'Life is your art'.

Metallica - Dream no more is one of the songs on album number 10 from the 3-decade+ old Metal giant which came out today, Nov 18, 2016
And no matter our personal feelings about the road Metallica has taken, a soon to be 40-year-old Metal giant releasing a new album is, of course, a cultural thing worth mentioning

So tune in, tune up and mosh away while you drink your morning coffee. I am right now listening to this very tune, and with some black coffee it will pump me up for my morning run =).

Did you know that Metallica was formed in 1981, giving us 10 albums with today´s release over the course of 35 years.

Here is the Spotify playlist for the entire album titled "Hardwired.. to self destruct"

Health, obesity, and genes. Why the adults of Middlesbrough is hurting their children's health, and why bad genes matter less than making healthy choices do. A short TLDR health article.
Even with super 'bad' genetics, people will still cut up to 50% risk by going healthy and active

Middlesbrough currently has the highest level of obese children ranging from 4 to 11 year old in the UK. In total England is estimated to have 198,036 overweight or obese children in that age group. But this has nothing to do with good looks and physical ideals, this is not about fat shaming, but it has to do with health, however.

Adults decide what children eat and how sedentary they are in that age group. At home, and at school.

Adults decide what children eat and how sedentary they are in that age group. At home, and at school.

So be an adult and make healthier choices in daily life and society.

Elevated blood pressure and type two diabetes.
Low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.
And various cardiovascular issues, a lack of strength and lean muscle mass, and unhealthy amounts of body fat.

A weak spine, cognitive changes, lower back pain and hip and knee issues are just some of the many negative outcomes of not promoting daily physical activity and healthy food choices.

And no, bad or good genes hardly ever matter when compared to the impact of your own daily choices.

Last few years, science studies on hundreds of thousands of people have clearly shown that people with "bad" genetics still cut their chances of suffering a heart attack or other cardiovascular issues with 50% if they do not smoke, and choose to eat well, exercise and stay healthy toned. And the opposite is also true, great genes health and body benefits do not hold up that well if you eat like shit and go full on sedentary. The world's best genetics can never outrun a sedentary and unhealthy lifestyle.

Diabetes quadruple worldwide since 1980´s
This post, of course, ties right back to a post I made 30 weeks or so ago, about global diabetes having quadrupled since the 1980s

Up there, in the sky, from far outside Planet Earth, the light that paint our day has traveled from distant clusters of stars through dark and matter for millions and in some cases, even, billions of years towards our magnetic field that shelters life down here, photons that caress and bounce their way through atmosphere, clouds and water.

And down here, the old trees of this world soak it all up.
The moist in the air, the pollution we create, the water from deep within the core of Earth.

They devour the nutrients in light, warmth and photons from far away worlds and stars. Individual trees that in rare cases rooted at the end of the last ice age, 10 000 years ago.

Yet somehow, they continue to thrive, they defy the end that snapped so many other living organisms from the gates of breathing, living things.

Each proud tree that stands tall and mighty above ground might look like a perfectly individual being which at rare times can live for more than a 1000 years, we have one such tree in Greece, and others like it in Sweden ( a gigantic fairy tale oak, as old as the swords of Vikings, complete with a man-sized room growing straight through it ) and in England you can find other 1000-year-old trees.

But the thing we see above ground is not the end of the tree, it is just one part of a living and thriving biological network.

Each individual tree is in truth its very own ecosystem for thousands of animals, and each tree also connects to and communicates with all the other trees surrounding them. When life cut down the upper body of one tree, sometimes that little hump we leave behind continues to live, new branches strangely start growing, moss and mushrooms claim it as their own humpback formed meadow.

Even more fascinating perhaps.

All the trees and their mutual ecosystem that it used to be a living and thriving part of, continues to feed it nutrition.

A matter of fact that at times result in a beautifully resilient generation-spanning tree which might loose dozens of upper bodies, but the roots of the very first tree, they simply refuse to die, and instead they send new upper bodies up above soil to feed on the sun for tens of thousands of years.

Sort of like how we lose and grow new hair and fur :P.

Several such death-defying conifers grow in the cold north of Sweden, having rooted at the end of the last ice age 10 000 years ago. And does that not make you wonder if those trees will outlast us all, perhaps one day, as we traverse the universe as an interplanetary species, back home on Earth these trees will, undisturbed by us, continue to live for millions of years, and perhaps one day we will talk about our distant home with its trees that have lived for as long as the light of the sun travels to reach us.

But it does not end with that, because beneath those trees.

Sometimes gigantic ecosystem grows in turn. Not their own, but another ecosystem, another living organism that feeds off of the trees. The biggest such living thing which we currently know of is the mushroom called Armillaria Ostoyae.

eating healthier is great for you, but how about the global impact?
If the entire global population started eating a more plant, fruit and berry based diet with much lower meat consumption ( and especially so red meat since chicken or insect meat is way less taxing for the environment ), what would happen?.

Existing farmland would then feed 10 billion people with a 94% success rate without needing to expand on our global food production footprint. Also giving us much lower resource drain and global pollution, on top of increasing individual health and thus wasting way less healthcare resources.

Which I am sure you think sounds pretty good.?

Book: Carmilla, a YA vampire love story between two girls by author J. Sheridan Le Fanu. And with some minor writing by Mike Koontz ( yours truly :P).
A sensual love story of sorts, between two girls. One born again as a creature of the night. And the other a sun-loving human female. The origins of Carmilla also happens to be the same sex relationship story that inspired Bram Stoker to go on and unleash one of the more important contemporary work of fictions there is with his own book "Dracula"

Instead of contemplating the global sadness that might come out of a potus elected through a message of immature anger and intolerance and science denial, snuggle down in bed, drink some black coffee or hot chocolate and enjoy a good vampire story :).

People are by default, natural beings of magic and alchemy. Precious little things which like the words we so often squander carelessly around might appear to be near endless in number and as such perhaps to you feel like petty change a snowy day.

But we all come into this world born with the same wisdom and magic and inherent limitless beauty.

Words, and people.

Like the magic of minds and life and hearts, are pure expressions of the truth of the universe itself, even if we all squander it´s real worth quite often, I totally do that too :).

But as it is, right here and now, we are all standing together on the doorsteps of a beautiful world of perfectly flawed alchemists whom carve water straight out of thin air, and clean energy from the sun, and perfectly flawed beauty from all things living.

Like those Japanese pottery things, cracked and made perfect with golden wounds. Not in spite of those wounds, but thanks to the cracks, the flaws and imperfections that mix and mingle with their perfections. The sum made so much more thanks to each other.

And today, walking through this door, I invite you all to come walk with me through a gorgeous, cloud free sky with harsh, early winter Nordic colors.

A sky that holds that captivating pale winter blue, yet as pale as it may be, it always do that perennial pale in the most strikingly vivid way.

Inside its whispering hues, there just is something peculiarly enchanting about our Norse winter dome which no other season ever comes close in approach.

Harsh, clear sunny light paints the world today, the likes you only see during winter's burning embrace. I always smile at how warm your freezing limbs actually feel when they are in truth, burning cold.

Yet the landscape still autumnish in color and diversity is thriving and inviting, applauding even the arrival of that blanket of fluffy white. Winter does not kill, it only dress the world in a different shade of love, and nature knows it.

I did say cloud free, but in truth, there are some strains of elongated and extremely thin white clouds that streak across the sky, enhancing it all with the nature of their mere presence.

But perhaps most strikingly, this entire morning.

Basking in that beautiful winter powered sun, on top of the entire world, there is a frosty, super cold and hardy, yet still thin white layer, not meter thick layers of snow, yet not just frost either. Thick crystals of white paints the entire world in that in-between state of late autumn and the first inviting greetings of winters man-sized white armored blanket.

It is a gorgeous day. And the sun and the autumn sparkles in fathers frost first real coating.

And perhaps you will not comment and write back to tell us of your own day and life, perhaps you never do, perhaps you never feel that your day and life is worth talking about. But it is. It always is.

And really who cares about my words, those artificial things and numbers are just that, ones and zeros, sometimes they carry with them the magic of life and people, and sometimes they are just carefree ones and zeros that we sprinkle all around. But, either way, those moments and words of your life, they color and change the world for someone, be as it might in your own mind be in rainbows of gold or manure :).

In fact, I would never write these words myself for the world to hear and see if not for the way my gf paint the entire world for me.

What matters, however, is not the words, but the things you love and do, the beauty of your own life and this entire day, just the way it is. Your own, unique gift which is every single day lived and loved without walking over someone else's gift.

Life as it is enjoyed by you, is the life you should always have. Words are not needed to make that truth all beautiful.

And so now I will head outdoors and enjoy the small magic and moments of this beautiful sunshine morning and I hope that you all have a day as good as this one, a day enjoyed your very own way, because the beauty of you and your life, lived and enjoyed your own way without being trampled upon by others, that is something quite priceless and world improving.

And you being allowed the gift of enjoying a healthy and fulfilling life through the magic and hard work of ever increasing numbers of beautiful little magicians and world improving alchemists running around in the wild, making this world healthier and more equal, more inclusive and loving, that´s a plus for all of us no matter how we do our own life.

So, in my opinion, this day being enjoyed by you, in your own way, that is a small and big plus for you and me and all of us.

Book: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Life in reverse is what happens in this strange but lovely tale of a man born as if he crawled straight out of the grave, but instead of slowly growing older, Benjamin finds himself growing backwards through a curious and beautiful life all the way back to the eternal sleep found in the cradle.

You have probably already seen it in the shape of the movie starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, but even if you have, it´s a tale worth revisiting in the enjoyable presence of your bed and this short 5 chapter book version. And I admit, like the movie version, I have rewritten some wee tiny little bits of Fitzgeralds original version.

complete with photography by me and Original Illustrations by Paul Bransom

The wind in the willows is a classic that takes us on a wonderful journey amongst the quite magical kingdom of enchanted animals. A wind that blows soft and gentle through the fields of willows where the badger walks with his friends, the water rat, and the mole.

But not all is well and peaceful.

There is the wicked weasels that make life a little bit less enjoyable than it should be for our animal friends.

All in all, this is a sweet adventure, made for the leisure of bedtime reads.

Solar Roof, the only way to build a roof that is as posh and stylish, and durable as it is is capable of improving world health
Latest tesla product improves your entire lifestyle

Off grid just got way more stylish and durable with the introduction of Solar Roof by Tesla. More durable than a normal roof, yet way prettier than your ordinary solar roof. And less costly than the combination of normal roof + solar panels.

Quartz glass made solar powered tiles provide insulation, life lasting strength and durability and off grid solar energy. In the winter they even keep your roof snow free by generating heat.

Don't feel like having your roof look exactly like the neighbor? Easy as pie, just order your own preferred look, smooth steel, grungy but gorgeous stone? Roman like orangeïsh tiles? Pick and choose once production and delivery go live in 2017.

And don't forget your Tesla power wall 2.0 to make sure gadgets, car, heat and water, cooking and pool are all powered 24/7 no matter what happens to the grid.

And while you are it, force your neighbors to order a new Tesla roof too. Cleaning up your neighbors energy bill cleans up your own air and soil, so why not kill two birds with one stone.

Fitness science for Elderly 02
Still with me on the benefit of as little as 3 intense minutes of weight lifting or interval cardio?. Good.

But, did you also know that lifting those tough as nail weights at 80% of your one rep max will improve your brain's own fitness levels, even if you are already at age 85 with a minor dementia diagnose.

Recent studies revealed that areas of the brain increased in size and capacity as the participants grew stronger and added more weights to their workouts. Improving not just their individual cognitive function, but the actual physical size and capacity in specific areas of the brain improved in direct correlation to the increase in muscular fitness.

How cool isnt that? The more fit their bodies grew, the more fit their mind also became.

But all you really need to know is that working your body, keeping fit and strong by lifting weights and eating healthy food will keep your brain as healthy and fit as your body, no matter your age.

And once again, this is now pure scientific fact, not speculation, so just get at it. Something I am sure the 60+-year-old model in this post, Christie Brinkley would absolutely agree with.

The same short but sweet, interval training also improved insulin sensitivity.

What is challenging? 80% of what you can do as your max one rep weight is a challenging weight to rep away at. And interval cardio should be roughly the same or more during the sprint phase.

Try to do 10 to 20 seconds at that level and dial it back to a lower pace for 10 seconds and do it once again at your sprint pace.

Repeat for 1 to 3 minutes.

Disclaimer
Keep in mind that I am not telling you to limit your workouts to 2-3 minutes. What I am saying, and what the science proves, is that compared to doing jack shit, 1-3 minutes of intense training will provide clear health benefits. But, a fit and healthy person that works out and keep active 7 days per week for let´s say, 30 to 60 minutes per day will, of course, benefit many more substantial health and body improvements.

Freyja: the Seven Stories of the World
While I work away on my next book, due out in 2017, I felt that Peter Quinton´s own Norse Inspired tale of Norse deity Freyja, a world and time traveling thief that she cunningly catches and seven little wonders could be a pleasant read for some of you, enjoy!.

When men first saw her, they could seldom believe their good fortune. Lost, vulnerable, in need of everything a man could give, she inflamed their desires, responded to their touch, bent to their dark, same, wants. She drifts on the tides of history

When men first saw her, they could seldom believe their good fortune. Lost, vulnerable, in need of everything a man could give, she inflamed their desires, responded to their touch, bent to their dark, same, wants. But when time came to discard her bruised body, they found themselves bound, and then drained, and then consumed.

Time after time, she feasted on the dreams and passions of these men, and then willed them to be no more. At first she delighted in the simple dreams of these men; those men who studied the currents and farmed the sea. But as she savored each new find, less succor she gained from their shared same lives.

Until, by accident, he came into her reach. A thief. Far from home. He twisted in her gaze with desperate stories from other worlds. As he sang to her of places far distant, he struggled in her web, fighting for his freedom.

She paused, unsure. Drawing him close, he offered to close her wounds, and protested his affection, while he hunted for his escape. She was confused but smiled and pondered her decision.

During the first days of his captivity, he started to tell her the seven stories of the world, singing her the songs of the sky and showing her all he knew of love and war. But as yesterday became today, his diversions ceased to be a game.

One night, as the stars swept over him, she stood beside him as he slept. Suddenly she plucked him from the world, from the past, and dragged him into the future.

Ultimately, this is one more reason why anyone interested in their own health also needs to pay attention and demands to our global health and life.

The way our farmers produce the food we eat matters not just due to potential toxins and nutrition, animal care and pollution, but also due to the fact that unsustainable farm and food practices lead to a long range of unpleasant and dangerous things around the world, such as resistant bacteria due to the widespread abuse of critically important antibiotics.

And that is alarming because these types of antibiotics are classified as critically important in human medicine and should due to the health and well-being of people not be used at all in food and farm production. One such consequence can be seen in the UK were a Cambridge University study showed that roughly 25% of supermarket chicken contained antibiotic-resistant e.coli, which in people can lead to kidney failure and in severe cases death.

Planet Earth: “Climate is changing. Food and agriculture must too.”. This is our life in the Anthropocene, today and tomorrow.
Excessive Air Pollution, soil degradation, polluted water, unsustainable energy. Unhealthy food production and sedentary living is damaging life and health of almost every human being

This is a long form article covering our individual and global, planetary health and the way it is all linked together, today and every tomorrow from here until eternity:

WHO, the U.N. health agency revealed September 2016 that 92 percent of the global population now live in areas where human-made air pollution exceeds what WHO consider safe for your health.

All while ever-increasing global temperatures and increasing frequency in weather-related disasters keep making not just daily life but also food production and food security harder for all.
A basic premise and reality which will have to go hand in hand with a growing worldwide population. A population that deserves a healthy and fulfilling life.

But, not only is one in nine deaths worldwide in some way caused by air pollution. Perhaps more importantly, beyond that number, hundreds ( billions actually ) of millions of people are affected in their daily life with various health issues due to human-made pollution and other unhealthy aspects of modern day life of some sort.

So the question should not be 'can we afford to go healthy and sustainable'.

No, instead, the reality already is 'How fast can we go all sustainable and healthy, because we already know that we can not afford to not do it'.

We all need thriving food producers and a well-functioning high-tech society.
I do not see how anyone regardless of nationality, political ties, wealth or religious views would ever claim otherwise and still keep a straight face and caring heart.

But a thriving food producer and ultra modern society can not be allowed to be an unsustainable food producer/society anymore, the time for that has come and gone. We now need healthy food being produced in a healthy and sustainable way that preserve our water, the air we breathe, the soil we use tomorrow too.

Our food producers and the farms that grow the basis of our food can not be allowed to hurt the very planet and wildlife which provide us with the things we need to live healthy lives tomorrow too. The cost of us having done so for far too long is already much higher than the cost of going green and clean, healthy and sustainable will ever be, and the long term revenue of going green and healthy is far higher than the "profit" of looking the other way like the sheepish, selfish fossil fuel sheep too many proved to be.

Life in the Anthropocene is about us all.

The reality of it is that we are all living together, and as such, we all have to look at the basic truth of what that amount to.
One nation and person can not afford to live in a way that hurts life on planet Earth anymore.

Doing so does not just hurt our bees and trees, it hurts all of us. What is toxic for the mighty white-tailed eagle is toxic for you and me as well. When people like Trump is making far-fetched claims that climate change is a Chinese hoax and others claim that oil never hurt anyone, that is nothing but a selfish view on life, a fabricated selfish view that my health does not matter, a selfish view that their neighbours should pay with their health in order to fill someone else's wallet. Planet Earth, you and me, we can not afford to let Saudi Arabia or Iran or USA or Russia perpetually exploit their oil reserves.

Shale gas can not be fracked just because it will temporarily help someone's profit when we all know that the price to do so is worse health for everybody.
Fossil fuel driven cars have to be removed from our streets, and coal can not be allowed to power our factories and homes anymore.

Water needs to be a healthy and rejuvenating thing to drink. Our oceans need to be free of pollutants in order for fisheries to produce healthy and sustainable food. Apples have to be a wonder that keeps the doctor away, we can not allow apple orchards to produce tasty looking treats which flood our bodies with unhealthy toxins that actually shorten our life and make us sick.

Making money is wonderful, but food producers and industries need to make their money by taking care of all of us, all of us and planet Earth.

Thus, I conclude.

We already know, from the world leader to you, that all of us, as the one global species we are, have to change. Not in the distant future, but right in the now. We have to change today and together.
It´s not about a moral thing towards animals. It is not about religious faith, or being kind to the poor and unknown strangers of our blue marble.

Going green and healthy is not about blue eyed optimistic people that are seemingly living in the day dreaming clouds that float us by.

It is about cold hard facts, science and life on Earth with all the other 10 billion people.
And the facts are simple, individual health is planetary health and vice versa.

The ones that are avoiding that simple truth are the ones that are daydreaming, and they do so out of selfish greed. They do not care about your wellbeing or their neighbor. They do not even care about your childrens health, what they care about is their own bank account.

We need to produce more food, and more electricity. We need to provide proper housing, clothes, computers, affordable internet,an equally rich life and a fulfilling sustainable living for more people.

We need to do it for a global population that keeps growing older, and we need to provide better health care for more people. Better elderly care, better school and science-based education, better and more affordable gyms and physical activities that foster healthier and happier and more fulfilling lives. No one should be abandoned or force fed fantasies and prejudice. People deserve happy and healthy lives. It´s the only life we got after all and the way to do that is to abide by the simple facts and science that clearly shows us all what we need to do to improve our individual and global health.

We need to globally provide better child care, better jobs that cater to the well-being and health of both those that work and those that do not. We need more green and thriving pasture, clean water, and air.

The Trillema Index

Safe cities and healthy rural areas et cetera that improve life and health for people instead of diminishing and taking away years of healthy fulfilling living is what is needed all around planet Earth. Did you know that right now USA, UK, Germany, and Japan have been added to an international watch list of countries with expected imminent negative changes according to the Trillema index. How can that be? Every nation, corporation and human being need to move forward, not backward. According to the same global index which measures sustainable and clean energy production, Denmark, Sweden, and Switzerland are the top three nations in the world.

And as we do all this, keep in mind that traditional jobs are actually becoming less plentiful. While far less workers will provide for more people.
There are no fossil fuel jobs in tomorrow's world because we, the human race that is living together on this one planet ( for now ) can not afford to have any fossil fuel jobs in tomorrow's everyday reality.

We can't have overfishing fisheries come tomorrow.
Nor can we have any industries and cities that contribute to any of the issues that are part of the changing climate. We can't have farmers that destroy the very land they farm. Bees are now endangered in parts of the world.

Whales and Tigers too. And we can not allow any nation to continue down that unsustainable and unhealthy, destructive path out of sheer pride and greed. The time is gone for allowing any nation to tuck their head in the sand.

We do not burn midnight oil anymore, the world does not need the blood and oil of whales and slaves to keep the lights turned on at home. We can not keep feeding poor people food that is toxic just because some overfed businessman believe that it is his right to claim ever growing profit and wealth at the expense of other people's actual health and wellbeing.

Any well-functioning society needs those that have to pay their fair taxes. This world can not afford wealthy people and corporations to avoid taxes for years and decades. And yes, producing sustainable things in a sustainable way is another form of taxes that are even more crucial, and no one can be allowed to continue to skip around it.

In our global world companies can not keep selling phones that burn and explode and dump it all in landfills that are so big they have created entire islands out in sea and city like structures on land. We can not continue to lay waste to entire communities for the next five hundred years just because someone believes that their own profit is more important.

The buildings we live in has to be made from sustainable practices, zero energy buildings have to be the only norm. New homes really have to give back to the world, instead of stealing the health of others.

In short.

We need to increase food production by 50% and we need all of it to be from sustainable measures. You deserve healthy milk, not planet destroying milk.
We can not continue to tell the lie that people should eat more meat when science tells us that eating meat hurt people's own health while also being one of the biggest destroyer of this planets only ecosystem, the meat industry has to change. Not because making it change is funny, but because beyond the selfish views of those in the meat industry that refuse to change, the truth is we can not afford to let you eat hamburgers in tomorrow's world.

Vegan hamburgers or artificial hamburgers or insect hamburgers yes, but not red meat hamburgers.

People can not continue to throw away 1.3 billion tons of edible food per year. There simply is not room for that, not from a moral point of view and not from a clinically fact of life view either. 1 Kilo of hamburgers can not continue to use hundreds of liters of water or more during the production.

We can not afford to let the actual health value of our food go to waste because food producers feel that they have to improve the taste by adding unhealthy things such as sugar to our food. What is the point of you buying affordable and tasty food if it shortens your life, increase the risk for diabetes, Alzheimer's, cardiovascular issues and cancer?.

Who exactly wins in that scenario?. You? Me? Your children? No, the answer is that not even the food producer wins by society sticking to an unsustainable and unhealthy way of life.

So I am sorry to tell you this, but your big ass humvee has to go. So do your coal job. And guess what, people can't be allowed to be homeless. It does not matter if you believe in your selfish point of view that some deserve to be homeless and that they don't count.

Truth is society can't afford homeless people, or for that matter unsustainable people or unhealthy people, every person ending up homeless or starving or living a well-off unsustainable and unhealthy life, or left alone without an income will cost society way more than the same person living a healthy and sustainable life by their own hand or by being properly cared for by society.

And morally, well, morally how can any human being, or society, be considered a decent and evolved person if they allow others to die the slow, degrading death of abandonment and homelessness.

Is that really any way better than the old roman empire and their gladiator entertainment.
No, it is not.

Especially so when you consider that in tomorrow's world, old jobs apply no more.
Not yours and not mine.

The economics and ruthless wastefulness of yesterday have no room on this planet anymore.

Universal income, free health care, real education, free education. Active lives and healthy food, those are the things our entire planet need to adapt. What we need to carve away is the dead weight, the unsustainable. The unhealthy. We do not need to control what unemployed people do, soon most will be unemployed no matter education. Not because they are worthless, but because people will be free to actually live healthy and fulfilling lives, they can poke around in their own garden, train elderly people in the elderly care home. Work out at the gym, train horses, show tourists around in their archipelago, paint, create music, write books, fix homes for others. Teach and train and help others.

What we need in the world is free child care and elderly care so no one will ever wake up to find that they have to give up their own life just to babysit their own elderly parents or that they somehow ended up being a bonus parent for their grandchildren. No one will drive a taxi in our rapidly approaching near future.

Perhaps people will soon not even own their own car. And no, these things are not scary, they are wonderful. Wonderful and positive inevitable changes. Changes that are happening right now.

The climate is changing, and the world is changing too. And it has too because we made it so, well not you and I, but all the narrow-minded, selfish and short sighted generations that came before us, they made this mess, and now we are cleaning it up.

No one will or should have to stand in line for hours upon hours to see a stressed out doctor with no sleep of his own or time on his hand for you.

Nor should anyone be refused real education. No one should be told that due to their parents religious choices they can't work, make love or go to school. We are all the same, simple and perfectly imperfect human beings, and we all deserve a much better planet Earth, today and tomorrow.

The best part is as I just said, that we are building just that, and we are all doing it together right in this moment.

From the smart beehives to the quickly moving vertical smart farms, to the transparent windows in tomorrow's Swedish buildings where entire skyscrapers are made of nothing but transparent yet sturdy, well-insulated wood. Entire buildings that are built from 100% sustainable resources, and better still, these buildings are producing their own heat and warmth and energy. We all need real education, and we all need a real, livable income even if the only ones doing "real work" happen to be automated robots and "lucy" like AI.

No one deserves to be called fat and ugly and doomed for life due to who they where born as.
Genetics do not define anyone. Neither do your race or name, the color of your skin or your parents or gender.

No one has to live outside society.
And no one deserves to breath toxic air and swim in the filth and shit of others.

And no one has to endure any of those things. Life is beautiful, and it is our mutual, global thing. The way you live travel around the world like a butterfly, it affects my life and my health, and when I grow strawberries without pesticides in my bee and butterfly friendly garden, it improves life for you too.

When I pick wild berries in my garden instead of buying it from the grocery store, it improves not just my health, but yours as well. When my house produces clean energy all year round instead of sucking up dirty coal energy from Germany I help improve life and health and the air and waters, the frigging soil across our gorgeous planet.

Say no to coal, oil, fracking, fossil fuel driven cars.
Say no to unhealthy, life destroying food and farmers.

If for nothing else the basic fact that come tomorrow, all those things will be gone anyway, because even if you do not understand why people can't continue to eat polluting and unhealthy meat or drive larger than life cars that suck the life out of everyone around them, facts are, that is how it is, and life on planet Earth is finally changing because there are now enough people that do understand that it all has to change.

It´s just science and facts of life baby. So join the train and help make the world better even quicker. I promise it will feel much better that way for you too.

The Winding down, final words.

While you do these things, while you learn to say no to the Trump lords of the world and to say yes to sustainable energy and community improving vertical food farms..

Remember that small steps count too. Eat healthier on a daily basis, walk. Lift weights. Do yoga and dance. Health breed health, and taking care of your body is you taking care of your mind and the entire planet as well. It is, after, all a physical part of your body and all our lives, not some isolated void. Healthy living, fit people that make daily choices based on sustainable and individual health will consume a boat load of less resources during their life compared to the exact same person living a sedentary, unhealthy and unsustainable life.

Health gives health, individual health is tied to our planetary health and it swings the other way around as well.

Make healthy choices for your own health, because your health is tied to my health, and we are all connected to this planet and everybody else living on it. People, animals, trees, and plants, oceans and mountains, the air we breathe.

Make healthy choices because individual health is planetary health and vice versa, and life is your art, and it is mine. And life in the Anthropocene is not a gloomy swan song for humanity, it is, in fact, all our mutual story of how we finally had matured enough to start treating each other and our planet with the respect we all deserve and need. And that is how humanity finally started to live truly healthy and happy fulfilling individual lives.

Eating way less meat is without a doubt the easiest and healthiest choice you can make for you and our shared planet. No need to cut it all out, but cut it down to one day per week perhaps?. And when you do eat meat, choose eco-friendly products from farmers with free walking animals, such as chicken. I promise, chicken is way healthier to eat than red meat, and it wastes a lot less resources, with far less soil degradation and planetary destruction.

Skip all sugar.

Sugar can not be considered healthy and beneficial carbohydrates, if anything you should view it as something that will hurt and diminish your body and health, from your mind to your heart, body fat and diabetes, teeth and longevity.

So buy sugar-free yogurt. Buy organic eggs.

Eat fruit and berries, eat potatoes. Buy local food!. Buy modern food, such as veggies and greens and whole grains from sustainable, vertical farms which do not need pesticides and toxins, farms that do not ruin our incredibly rare soil.

Buy clean energy. Build healthy homes and healthy lives.

Take a walk outdoors on a daily basis and drag someone else with you.
Skip the plastic bags at the grocery store. Skip the candy, the wasteful and unhealthy coca cola. And if you have healthy water flowing in your tap water, drink that and let the incredibly overpriced and unhealthy and unsustainable water on a bottle industry languish like a desert drought. Eat fruit and greens, plant berries and wildflowers at home.

Improved health for you today is a longer and healthier and more fun and fulfilling rest of your life, and a healthier life for you is a healthier and richer society for us all.

Embrace that simple truth.
Be the change, individually and globally, help yourself and the rest of the world to reach that better and far healthier and fulfilling future Earth, your actions count, because you matter as much as I do.

the trees, that dream of your name

These trees that stand, here, on this hill
They sometimes crave your delighted mind, as they dream
Of far away mountains
In this night of dreams, and somewhat painted fools

Rain, soon a torrent stir
Amongst their roots, can you still
remember, all that water?

Like an echo far out at sea
The mud that travels on the wings
Of bumblebees

There they stand
The trees that whisper
Your name, in the night and sea

October 10

For me, and you, this could have been just another day of life. And of course, that was exactly what it was, a slice of everyday life down by the lake, but it was, also and forever, a perfect day with white-tailed eagles, white swans, and seagulls that slowly rocked our old wooden boat gently down our misty lake of wonders.

It was a perfect day for the two of us, no matter how anyone else would ever slice the dice and look at life.

But as my hand reached out, as we solemnly floated by the auburn colored trees and rocks that reached out into the water I touched your skin and slowly raised your skirt, we both smiled moments before I kissed your lips, rocking to the turning of the sea, and inside our slowly moving boat, my fingers soon gently touched your shaved and already aching wet privates to the sound of waves and birds, and the slowness of the warming breeze that rattled leafs and strands of hair before it seemed to eagerly help me stir your growing wetness.

As with every moment shared with you, life beneath the white-tailed eagle was made all the brighter, impossibly lush and vivid, just by being shared with you. For within you, the power to light the very core of entire worlds flows from nothing more than you simply being you.

And so, when you shivered and quaked for the first time this day, when your wetness rushed against my fingers in a series of quaking seismic contractions, the boat rocked just a little bit more, and the white-tailed eagle took to the sky above our heads, calling out our names with its peculiar gong like song, and with the sound of its mighty wings and your own pleasured moaning, your physical eruptions seemed to take a life of their own through the waves that rushed more sudden away from the boat, across the calm surface of the lake I know it rushed across the wild waters of the universe, as I made you cum again, life was changed and made forever richer.

By breathing, living and simply being, just the way you are, you paint tongues and kisses, the color of the sky and the motions of the rain as nature waters our garden of trees to bloom forever more bright and vivid, just by being you.

Happy birthday my October 10.
