TVR are back!: TVR Cars is to start taking deposits on its recently announced new sports car, effective from July 7th 2015
Hot on the heels of the news that TVR is to launch an all-new car in 2017, the company has decided that it will start taking deposits for the car from July 7th, 2015. The decision, which has come sooner than originally anticipated, has been made as a direct result of the huge, positive, public reaction generated by announcement that the company will launch the incredible new car. Designed in conjunction with Gordon Murray Design and featuring a Cosworth V8 engine, sports car enthusiasts the world over are lining up to buy what promises to be one of the most exciting new sports cars of the decade.

John Chasey, Operations Director of TVR, says: “We’ve been totally blown away by the reaction to the new car. Our phone lines and online enquiry system went into meltdown when the news was announced, and we decided that we must begin to bring a structure to the enquiries and build a delivery pipeline well in advance of production. Volumes in year one will be limited as we ramp up production,  so this allows us to reward those individuals prepared to make a financial commitment at this early stage.”

TVR will take a £5,000 deposit from all interested parties, with detailed specifications to be established at a later stage. However, the company has also announced that it will offer a limited quantity of reduced deposits to TVR Car Club members during July as a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Car Club and as a thank you to the established individuals who have demonstrated continued enthusiasm and loyalty to the brand. Anyone who has been a member of the club for more than 6 months will be offered the opportunity to pay a £2,500 deposit, and TVR will also make a financial donation to the TVR Car Club for each deposit taken from a member.

Les Edgar, Chairman of TVR, says: “We feel it is important to reward those people who have been such enthusiastic ambassadors for the TVR brand. The club is a wonderfully active and loyal community of people who simply love the cars, so it seems fitting that they should be offered a reduced deposit and a promise of some of the early production units. With initial production in 2017 to be in the low hundreds, the early units are likely to be much coveted.”

The company is currently working on building and establishing its UK network of TVR Heritage and TVR Performance partners, many of which will have previously been TVR main dealers, whilst suitable new partners are also being sought. Most of the early cars will be delivered direct from the factory, although a referral scheme will be put in place to reward the network partners for their loyalty to the brand and to assist them in establishing relationships with the new customers in their locality.___

Amazing yachts and boats on show at the Cannes Yachting Festival 8-13th September: The Riva 88 Domino Super

With similar accommodation to the 88 Florida (we published yesterday), 8 berths in 4 suites, she also has a spectacular main

About the Riva 88 Domino Super
The coupé evolution. It's called Super, as it's amazing, and because this suffix is well-known as the mark of evolution within the Riva brand. 88’ Domino Super, aimed to set new standards in the industry in terms of style, comfort and performance, had its début in Monte Carlo, before being worldwide reveald to the public in September at the Cannes Yachting Festival. With an overall length of 26.84 metres (88.1’) and a maximum beam of 6.22 metres (20.5’), its racy and aerodynamic profile wins you over from first glance, enhanced by the shade of the hull, the dark “London Grey” contrasting with the light “Moon Grey” of the superstructure.

Added to this are other important style choices: the new sun deck adds to the sportiness of the yacht, offering increased comfort to guests; the single large window on the hull is characterized by a bold design; and the revamped stern completes the dynamic feel of the yacht. The swimming platform on the stern, which can be moved and submerged, is a convenient spot to get into the water and back on board, as well as making the launch and towing of the tender very easy. The cockpit is like an outdoor living room, with a large C-shaped sofa/chaise longue, beyond which a sofa faces the dining table. Beyond the glass you come to the interior, organized into the living and dining areas and bridge. The lounge is an open space with an unrivalled view of the sea; a perfect example of the unmistakable style of Riva.

The shift of the helm station to the starboard side has enabled storage to be installed, separating the two sets of stairs which lead to the kitchen and below deck. The pilot station, with two seats, is hidden by a full-height wall with TV screen, equipped with an electric mechanism enabling it to be swivelled towards the dining area. Going down the first flight of stairs leads to the lobby, then to the three guest cabins, while on the starboard side, towards the stern, a door opens to the full beam master suite. The room is airy and beautifully lit. The starboard side is furnished with a low unit including a vanity/desk area, with the optional extra of freestanding units. On the port side is a double berth with TV on the facing wall. The cabin has an en-suite bathroom and spacious walk-in wardrobe.

The sporty feel of the 88’ Domino Super is enhanced by the new sun deck. A large C-shaped dinette at the bow faces the external helm station, which is positioned centrally to allow optimum command of the yacht. There are spacious areas for relaxation on the stern. The performance of the new coupé is best in its class. The standard version of the yacht comes fitted with two 2435-Mhp MTU 16V 2000 M93 engines, allowing the yacht to reach a maximum speed of 38 knots and a cruising speed of 34 knots. The optional configuration comprises two MTU 16V 2000 M94 engines with a power of up to 2638 Mhp. These engines push the yacht up to 40 knots, while the cruising speed touches 35 knots (preliminary data).___

Boutique carbon fibre atelier Vitesse | AuDessus, manufacturer of bespoke automotive pieces, announces its launch worldwide
Vitesse | AuDessus, (or “Superior Speed” in French), has just launched its services globally. The company handcrafts bespoke carbon fibre exteriors, interiors, components and monocoques for the world’s most exciting and exclusive automotive machines.

Using the best materials available and employing cutting-edge technologies, Vitesse | AuDessus produces one-off parts which meet, and often exceed, OEM standards.

“Our clients have already selected the very best in their lives,” says Vitesse | AuDessus CEO Stefany Sanchez. “Everything they own is a reflection of their unique taste: from their home, yacht or jet all the way down to their cufflinks. So why should they accept a supercar or exotic vehicle that is no different than the one in their neighbour's garage? Thus, we had a challenge: how do we make something that is already incredibly rare, sexy and exciting even rarer, sexier and even more exciting? The answer? We adorn every inch of it in handcrafted carbon fibre.”

Vitesse | AuDessus offers full carbon fibre body OEM solutions for top-of-the-range extreme machines like the Bugatti Veyron, McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918, Lamborghini Aventador and many others.

“At Vitesse | AuDessus we provide our clients with the opportunity to tell a better story,” explains Sanchez.

To that end, the company encourages its clients to become engaged in the planning and creative process: supercar owners are furnished with the latest 3D renderings and physical samples to help them establish their personal mandate, and Vitesse | AuDessus’s creations conform or diverge from OEM standards accordingly.

This novel ‘Saville Row experience’ offers Vitesse | AuDessus clients a selection of weaves, colors and final finishes; after every seam is planned, each piece is meticulously fabricated and finished by hand. The company also carries out the installation with an onsite visit, where feasible.

Carbon fibre exteriors typically range in price from $100k-$200k; bespoke pieces for Bugatti Veyron, Mclaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari and Ferrari Enzo may carry a premium over that.___

“Viva la Robolución!” +Brauer’s upcycled, retro-futuristic luminous robots at the MB&F M.A.D.Gallery in Geneva

The M.A.D.Gallery are presenting fourteen astonishing sculptures by Parisian artist Bruno Lefèvre-Brauer, aka +Brauer.

+Brauer created his first robot sculpture about ten years ago in his Parisian workshop just outside of Paris, located in a neighbourhood with a strong artisanal and industrial past. This sculpture had keys for arms and was housed in a simplistic metal case topped off by an insulator.  Born out of what could be termed a poetic resistance to overconsumption, the artist chooses components for his sculptures that have an industrial past. Having been marked by time and boasting patinas derived from hard use imbues the robots with their very specific character and makes them more visually interesting.

+Brauer’s art form is called upcycling, and it is a remarkable concept that allows materials to be saved, reused, and reclaimed. It also offers machines a second life after their primary uses have expired. +Brauer’s luminous sculptures invite the curious into remarkable and surprising artistic worlds of what was and what could be. And a reminder that even though something is no longer used as it was intended, that does not mean that it is without value.

+Brauer takes old mechanical parts that he finds in abandoned workshops and garages and works them into new forms. He has gathered components for years and has amassed quite a collection comprising objects he has found and some he has bought second-hand or from scrap dealers. Additionally, friends and colleagues also keep a look out for him, occasionally bringing him objects as well. As he told Karmapolitan, “For years I’ve been retrieving, sorting, ordering, and storing parts. It is necessary to go through this in order to be able to create with more freedom.”

At times, the sight of just one item inspires the idea for a new sculpture that pops right into his head, and right from that moment he knows exactly what kind of robot he wants to create and the personality to give it. Robots first begin as sketches on paper; the metal objects then are laid together on the floor to test out their shapes and how the pieces fit together, whether harmoniously or not.

Also during the initial sketching stage +Brauer simultaneously works on the lighting design. Then he outfits the robots with lights that are also created from recycled materials. These are not the easiest of tasks, however the artist has developed methods for each new challenge in order to obtain the hoped-for results. The electrical circuitry is the most complex part, and it is the element that most vividly brings the robot to life. Each robot has its own specifically tailored lighting system.

Once the lighting and electrics are worked out, he cuts windows into the metal and begins the assembly process. It is challenging to assemble metals that were not created to be put together, and each part reveals its own constraints when assembly is underway, which +Brauer completes using techniques such as sawing, cutting, welding, screwing, and burnishing to refine and adapt the components. Sometimes it is here that he sees what might be missing; some sculptures remain in progress for months until he has all the parts he needs to complete them. Each completed robot is a unique piece.___
