Love Lost
The loss of a lover, whether because they have passed on or for any other reason is a heartbreaking experience. Some never fully recover. There might always be a small place in your heart that holds the pain of this experience. This is natural and fine. Even when you find another person to love, it is fine to hold a place for the lover that has passed. You shared something profound together. The previous relationship that you had is not like your new relationship. Every relationship is unique and should be allowed a place in your heart. Past lovers are not to be compared to the new person in your life.

Wild At Heart
This band of untamed horses,
follow a path, and often change their courses.
No one can tell them where to roam.
They live in this wild pasture land called home.

Fading Memories
The memories flow like water in a stream, always in motion.
Eddies and whirlpools displace the smooth run of thought.
Droplets of pleasant remembrances sparkle in the sun, causing rainbows in the mist of the past.
Sometimes the stream becomes a torrent, unstoppable, raging, and causing a tempest of memories.
Eventually the stream enters the placid lake of time and the turmoils of yesterday are no more than a tiny drop that sparkles in the memories of the mind.

The Hunter

Deep in his muddy memory, something makes
A ripple on the smallest space of thick
and enigmatic water, something breaks
a thin stiff shaft of reed, grazes a stick
with wing or fin; disturbs the mist. He wakes.
The pre-dawn clamor in the fluent air
cannot drown out the subtle sound that aches
In his hollow cattail bones, and rattles there.
What could it be, this sound or rushing where
There are no wings, this snap of twig in rain,
Startling in the eye’s white corner, hair
Rising on the arms again and again?
Nothing. An absence: losses beyond repair,

Mirror, Mirror...
Mirror, mirror in the lake, where can I find the most beautiful sunset (fake)?
Well, not really a fake, but a LAB colored version of an ordinary sunset. I like experimenting with the LAB color mode. In this picture I simply LABbed the original picture, flattened it and used only the blue/yellow channel which I in turn blended onto the original. I then adjusted the colors separately (the BLUES, CYANS and YELLOWS) to achieve something that at least could be called color balance. Not my best work but the scenery is nice...
