World Radio Day

Radio broadcasting started in India in the early 1920s. The first programme was aired in 1923 by the Radio Club of Bombay. Broadcasting services were set up in 1927, with two privately-owned transmitters at Bombay and Calcutta. The Government operated them under the name of Indian Broadcasting Service. The name was changed to All India Radio in 1936 and was renamed Akashvani in 1957.

India vs Australia Tied test 1986
The first Test played between India and Australia, at Madras in 1986, ended as a tie, only the second in 140 years of test cricket.

With one run required for victory, tail-ender Maninder Singh was on strike. Australian bowler Greg Matthews bowled the penultimate delivery of the match and the ball rapped on to the pad. Matthews immediately appealed for an LBW. Without any delay, up went the finger of umpire Vikram Raju and history was created.
The final scores read: Aus 574/7 decl and 170/5 decl. India 397 and 347.

Awesome photography!
Turkish graphic designer and photographer Aydın Büyüktaş has mastered the art of surrealism, and his latest project will leave your head spinning in the best way. He uses drones to take a series of overhead photographs, which he then blends together to produce a superb 'declining' effect, in which the world below looks progressively smaller and flatter - the project is, in fact, called Flatland.
