Michael J. Coffey1,820July 2013 EngagersThank you to everyone in this circle--last month you mentioned me, commented on a post, or shared.  Well, and a couple that had posted something I thought was great.  And maybe one or two people who just +1'd something of mine.  I'm still kind of figuring out what my rules are for my engagement circle.  Anyway, this is a great group of people, with a heavy weighting toward people who talk about tea and tech/business marketing/social media (unsurprisingly, if you know me). #sharedcircles  2013-08-03 18:26:1490315

Steve Hall860Early last week, I shared a circle I had pared down from over 300 to just 60 "top engagers." It's already grown by almost half, and I've only managed to keep it this small with difficulty. I've no doubt by the end of the week it'll be over 100. That's NOT a bad thing! I saw a post today by someone who complained there's nothing in his G+ stream, but when I looked at the people he has circled, a lot of them are in this circle (and he had quite a few other high-profile Plussers circled). So I dunno what he was looking at when he thought he was looking at his stream. It's all I can do to keep up with this circle, not to mention the other 15 or 20 circles I have!2012-03-14 16:23:1287405
Steve Hall754Yesterday, I shared a rather large (close to 300 people!) circle of folks who are smart, savvy, and full of engagement. I also realized I spent waaaaaaay too much time on G+ yesterday, to the detriment of being otherwise productive. This morning, I went through all my various circles, curating them into this much smaller circle of "Top Engagers." This is the circle I (will) go to first when I log in here. I'm sure it'll quickly grow well beyond 60. There are all kinds of people here, from writers to scientists to gamers to Android enthusiasts to techies to geeks (I think there's a difference, but not sure where the line is) to just general "fun people to engage with." So if you want—or need—to narrow your focus a bit, and perhaps slow down that steady stream—or flood—of G+ goodness, you could do worse than start with these people.2012-03-08 17:32:406112510
Rae O.4,888These are the most engaging, thoughtful, fun, creative and interactive people on Google+, for a starter circle. Add to get some action in your stream! And before you share it, add yourself! Edit note: I did remove my friend's name because I have not told him how this works and he has a whole bunch of new friends, tons of emails and a phone that was lighting up all night.Wow, the power of G+ blows me away! (Please note, this circle was originally curated by +Peter G McDermott) I just reshared it and in no way am taking credit for creating something this awesome!2012-03-07 05:50:19269771333
Peter G McDermott39,143How to Be Circled on Google+Interaction. Interaction. Interaction. In real life, people commonly ask me, “how in the world did you get so many followers on Google?” Of course, being an early adopter helped, but the most important thing I did when I arrived here was interacting with other users. I can’t say it enough, interacting with people’s content shows them two things: 1) You’re paying attention. 2) You invested time in starting a conversation. There are so many people on Google+ that have some incredible content to share. Now, of course, this content might not all be relative to you. Someone into +Lady Gaga and fashion design isn’t going to take too much interest into +Robert Scoble's posts, but at the same time a budding tech blogger wouldn’t make much of an effort to follow a well-known cake decorator. The point is, all of your circles should be relative to you. You should circle people that interest you.So how you do you find people that interest you? Well, sometimes you have to take a gamble. You have to see what they have to say, determine if it is relevant and then decide whether or not you want to continue interacting with them. It’s the same principal as making friends at school, work or sports bar.In order to help some users interested in interacting with more people I created a call to action last night asking users to comment and share if they were interested in being exposed to more users. The response was overwhelming and a great demonstration of how community members can come together.Lately I have ranted a bit about the Suggested Users List and the What’s Hot List, but the real truth in the matter is that they...don’t matter. This network is only to you what you take out of it. So, here’s an opportunity for a couple of hundred people to show you what they are all about.Special thanks to +Natalie Villalobos and +Robert Scoble for helping me in the back channel with “re-aligning” my focus. It took a while, but I think I’m back on track to doing what I do best. There are a few great people in here including Googler +Sara Eleta Reid, funny hangout man +matthew rappaport, culinary extraordinaire +Lee Allison, Google+ enthusiast and business expert +Denis Labelle, and Nashville local +Andy Torres2012-03-03 01:45:08270141111124

Maybe Mr. Angell needs to look a little further west than the Bronx, then, because down in Miami, Giancarlo Stanton had a pretty amazing season; in Pittsburgh, Andrew McCutcheon brought the Bucs back to the playoffs, after almost being given up for dead. Up in Seattle, a guy named Felix is a pitching demigod. Closer to New York, the Baltimore Orioles beat Jeter and the Yankees, along with the rest of the AL East, into submission and was the first team this season to clinch a division crown.

Meanwhile down in Southern California, a youngster named Trout is taking aim at all the immortals. And a visitor from another dimension, Clayton Kershaw, is proving to be the best pitcher of the pitch-count era, and second place isn't even in the picture.

As for Mr. Jeter? He had a nice game last night, but what else has he done this season? In a word, he's done _blah._

First of all, if you can't do better than Starbucks, I'm sorry. Second, even at Starbucks, you can do better than a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Finally, no pumpkins will be harmed in the production of your pumpkin spice, just as no apples (or apple pies) are harmed in the production of apple pie spice. Grammar and linguistics: a match made in heaven.

Happens every single time a new iPhone is announced. By now, it has to be a corporate strategy, but don't understand what possible advantage this has, except perhaps to artificially create more demand. (Unless, of course, Apple routinely screws up sales estimates, but since no one gets fired for that . . . )

NO LONGER

I no longer have patience for certain things, not because I’ve become arrogant, but simply because I reached a point in my life where I do not want to waste more time with what displeases me or hurts me. I have no patience for cynicism, excessive criticism and demands of any nature. I lost the will to please those who do not like me, to love those who do not love me and to smile at those who do not want to smile at me.

I no longer spend a single minute on those who lie or want to manipulate. I decided not to coexist anymore with pretense, hypocrisy, dishonesty and cheap praise. I do not tolerate selective erudition nor academic arrogance. I do not adjust either to popular gossiping. I hate conflict and comparisons. I believe in a world of opposites and that’s why I avoid people with rigid and inflexible personalities. In friendship I dislike the lack of loyalty and betrayal. I do not get along with those who do not know how to give a compliment or a word of encouragement. Exaggerations bore me and I have difficulty accepting those who do not like animals. And on top of everything I have no patience for anyone who does not deserve my patience.

Buttons

A special service of CircleCount.com is the following button.

The button shows the number of followers you have directly in a small button. You can add this button to your website, like the +1-Button of Google or the Like-Button of Facebook.

You can add this button directly in your website. For more information about the CircleCount Buttons and the description how to add them to another page click here.
