Trever McGhee95,705Please accept my apologies if your one of the few that got hit by a bug in their system! This is my first event and for some reason Google notified some people 20 times and for some their system was planning on doing that within their calendars for the next 5 years...every single day...20 times a day...how it did or why it would set peoples calendars up to be notified 20 times a day...I don't know. Hopefully they've got it corrected, if not please let me know. I know I wanted to help peoples wishes come true but not in that way, The goal of this event my Birthday is give you as many of my Birthday Wishes as you require...why because you deserve it. My wish is here is to connect you to the thoughts/ the energy of thousands of people around the world all making a Birthday Wish for themselves from the heart... to you. I like to Imagine the energy from all those making a wish and the energy coming from the ones that come true(the smiles..the laughter..the tears...the overflowing of pure joy) being connected to you to power your own wish to come true. Thanks to some theories about Quantum Physics there's no space between you or me or them...topped with the fact they tell us energy is never destroyed, it's gotta go somewhere as each new person joins in, so why not to you to empower your wish to come true sooner rather than later. Imagine being connected to thousands....millions of others all making wishes...all hoping that your wish comes true for it will help empower their wish. They've documented several cases of where positive thoughts have made a difference, so why not around someones birthday who can then share it with everyone whose connected to that person...so me for this event. It's never been done before, so why not now....be part of it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain as we go day by day, year by year building this community of wish granters. Now think of an image that represents your wish and then take2seconds to think of that image at least once a day until it comes true. Have fun with it, there's no right or wrong way when you come from the heart. Please let us know as each wish comes true...yes each wish...there's no law that says you're only granted one wish...you deserve everyone of them when they come from the heart..when that wish fills you with the passion for life... *****UPDATE at first I was focused on getting as many people as possible for this so that everyone had more energy but now after reading your comments..hearing your passion for life...the numbers have gone completely out the window for each one of you have brought your own unique energy to the equation that's priceless....THANK YOU In my world Birthday wishes can be made everyday of the year because it's a celebration everyday that your here to share this with. So today I Celebrate being 44 and 1 day old.Update to fix Google Bug for "It's My Birthday and my wish is for your wishes to come true!!"2012-08-17 12:00:00202

The road between Blinman and Wilpena is AWESOME. Smooth as silk brand new bitumen, soft rolling hills and smooth curves, the sort of road that makes you wish you had a Maserati or Ferrari. But a 90km speed limit, plus roos and emus wandering across the road, so maybe not.

So, how do people weed their circles these days? I went to the People option from the sidebar, and chose a circle, but it looks like I can only unfollow one person at a time.

It used to be that if you deleted people from Contacts (Gmail), they'd also be removed from G+ circles, but I can't do that anymore.

Is it Google's plan to just remove more and more features until G+ is just pointless? X(

This is great! It's a puzzle-solving game in the mould of Myst, without all the tedious travelling around between locations, because it's all set within a single room. The puzzles aren't impossible to solve, or even particularly difficult. The enjoyment comes from working methodically through each puzzle to get the clue needed to solve the next one. And there are a lot of puzzles. Excellently well done. There are also hints available along the way, should you get stuck, although most of them state the obvious. Worked well on my Note4. Would be wonderful on a tablet.

WTF happened to the slideshow option in Google Photos? What's the point of being able to Chromecast your pics if you have to sit there clicking through one by one?

Some article recently said Photos was the new Flickr. Bah! Doesn't even do the most basic thing.

And while I'm having a rant, what happened to the view count?

Fine, I guess. But how about giving the chrome://apps page some love. It's lame. It's always been lame.

1. At the default size, the icons are HUGE. If I resize the page down to about 67% they're OK, but then the background for my theme is also resized and too small.

2. Instead of multiple pages you have to navigate to -- with the mouse, because the arrow keys don't work! -- just let people add everything to one page. We can scroll down to see the rest.

OR

3. Integrate with chrome://bookmarks, so we can find all our things in one place. The bookmarks page was an idea, but it also needs more thought to make it more useful and less mickey-mouse.

24% of those polled say it's America. The USA. No surprise. America spends more than all other countries combined on their military. Most if the weapons used in conflicts were sourced from the US. Your "democracy" is a corrupt farce. And you're about to elect a nationalistic demagogue who will have no hesitation in using nukes if they get the chance. And if further evidence is needed, I refer you to the jingoistic comments: "America is great and you're all dumbasses."

Hmm. I wanted to comment on this, but (a) it's on Facebook, and (b) it looks like only friends can comment.

Anyway, it seems the latest Adelaide Fringe Festival is ending, not with a bang, but with a whinge. +Alexis Dubus is just one of a number of artists who are not happy with the festival: sparse audiences, poor promotion, ridiculous bureaucracy, ... and a lot of vitriol thrown in the direction of the Garden of Unearthly Delights and the Croquet Club, both of which are big-budget commercial events. Haven't been to either, but they sound awful.

Personally, I kind of lost interest in the Fringe at the point where the program started to look like a telephone book. (Remember those?) If comedy shows are finding it hard to get audiences, maybe it's because there are 3,000 stand up comedians competing for bums on seats. How to choose? Ah, fuck it, lets go to the Croquet Club... more »

And speaking of lights, the annual light show on North Terrace was also a bit sad this year. The Art Gallery was brilliant, but the Museum and State Library just couldn't resist the temptation to turn it into an educational experience. Clever, but boring. I guess another sign that the bureaucrats have taken control. Time for a Fringe Fringe?

Good piece from The Age. A good reminder that this is not about sex (and I would much prefer not to think about Tony having sex) it's about the way the Abbott government failed to maintain the cohesion they had in opposition. My own take: they behaved in government as they had in opposition, constantly attacking Labor instead of getting on with delivering good policy.

OK, forget Drumpf and Cruz and Hilary, this is the latest cause for outrage among the twitterati. Whole Foods were selling pre-peeled Mandarins, aka Tangerines (not oranges). Which, having had nature's own packaging removed, then had to be boxed in plastic tubs. Duh.

But among all the outrage over how ridiculous a thing to do this was (and even Whole Foods have admitted it was dumb), we have many retweets from people with disabilities that make it hard for them to peel an orange, complaining that we're discriminating against them for wanting to ban this form of packaging.

Leaving aside the fact that these were Mandarins, which are really easy to peel, how valid is this argument? Were WFs providing a valuable service to the disabled which should be continued? Could they simply ask a friend to peel for them? How about carrots? Presumably they can't chop carrots, so ...... more »

I do sympathise with people who have difficulty with such tasks. My partner has arthritic hands that make it impossible for her to do a lot of food preparation. But is this really the answer?___
