Alister Macintyre42,106Do not confuse this circle with the one I have on Native American Indian interests.  My India Circle has people whose lives have either passed thru the great nation of India, are there now, or interested in India.  My interests range world wide, some nations more than others.  I recently started an Asia circle, and tried to pour into it my circles for Australia, China, Japan, India, some other countries, but bumped into another of G+ silly ceilings.  I have circles for several major regions of the world, including Middle East, Eu-W, and Eu-other.  I also have circles for specific nations like Germany and Haiti.2014-03-27 18:26:53148002
Markos Giannopoulos18,370The smiling circle! // Checking my profile on +CircleCount, I found out that someone added a "smile" tag on it. Tags is a feature on Circlecount where you can add tags on your profile to show what kind of content you post, but other people can add tags as well. So, some kind person added a "smile" tag on me. Whoever you are, thank you!Apparently, there are more people with the tag (see http://bit.ly/1ftgCJw), but for easier access to some positively-charged people, I've created a circle out of this list using +Circloscope. Included are some highly succesfull people, so perhaps there is some correlation.  :) That said, you should head over to circlecount.com, find your favorite similing person and add the smile tag on his/her profile ;) #circleoftheday #circleplus #public #publiccircles #publiccirclesproject #reshare #circles   #circleshare   #circlesharing   #sharedcircles #sharingcircles   #sharedpubliccircles   #sharedcircleoftheday   #share   #shared   #followers   #addcircles #publicsharedcircles   #share   #addpeople   #addcircle #addfriends   #circle   #socialmedia     #influencers   #influencer   2014-03-12 12:30:108110118

Louis Gray146,793Happy Thanksgiving: Here Are 100 Incredible Google+ People #circles   #sharedcircles   #gratitude   #thanksgiving  I was thinking about writing some "Why I'm Thankful for Google+" post and telling you many of the reasons I enjoy this network, but the truth is, no matter what features or unique qualities are poured in here, it wouldn't amount to next day leftovers without you guys. So I walked through my Circles and wanted to highlight, for you, 100 of my closest friends from Google+, whose posts I regularly enjoy, engage with, and many of whom reflect my offline relationships as well.No pages or brands are in this "Top 100". But you won't go wrong by adding this circle of sharp, engaging, humorous, clever and unique people. Thank you for being part of Google+. Didn't make this list? Keep engaging, and I'm sure I'll share you in the future.2012-11-21 21:32:2610015228

Ryan Howard36So I'm actually really digging Google+. It seems that a lot of folks have given up on it as simply a Facebook alternative, but I think that's the wrong way to look at it.Really I think it's best to look at G+ as a hybrid of something like Twitter, FB, RSS and a blog. While you can use it to keep in touch with friends it also offers a lot of opportunities for sharing information and ideas across a wide variety of people. For example I started following this Google circle that I'm sharing, from it I've learned a LOT about android development, chrome and other google projects, but at the same time I've learned more than I imagined about the science of coffee brewing and some great travel destinations. One of the important steps to actually using Google+ effectively seems to be realizing that it's not all about your "wall/stream" as a catch all. The tool seems to be much more effective when you skip through your streams by circle. For example, when I want to see what my friends are up to I check that Circle's stream, when I want to see what my friends in the States are doing I can check out that stream, or if I'm looking to see what different projects are coming up through Google I check my Google Circle's stream.I think it's also important to realize that unlike facebook but like twitter, you WANT to follow people you DONT KNOW. Don't be afraid, there are lots of interesting folks and posts out there and if you see something interesting, give that person a follow and throw them in a Circle that makes sense. Then going forward you can target your posts to people in the circles that might find them interesting.Anyway, the tl;dnr: Use circles, follow people, be a nerd.. and more importantly let's share some circles. If you have one with interesting people, share it like this and you'll really see the potential of the site open up.2012-01-19 23:34:0266603
Chris Hoyt1,112Circle Back to GoogleLooking for people who work at Google? Here's a great circle that's a strong addition to any search you've already performed on Google Plus and that I'd include with any other search for Googlers that you've already conducted. What's interesting to me (and that I'm getting around to pointing out) is that whether you're just looking to expand your network as a member of Google+ or actively #recruiting and #sourcing online, I believe that you'll find infinite value from the proper care and feeding of Google Plus circles. In fact, if done correctly (and maintained) it's a fantastic way to filter your Google Plus stream and check the pulse of any company, organization or interest group. In the event you missed it, I did an article back in August that mentioned my interest in Circles and how I'd be exploring the management of them. (http://www.recruiterguy.net/recruiting-management-circles) So far, I've not been disappointed in the ability to really hone in on an area of interest by filtering my streams based on these circles and simply watching the conversation flow. Of course, being able to quickly see all of the updates from a particular company or interest group is just the start. The more proficient we get with our filtering, the easier it is to get the latest from fun entrepreneurs, CEO's, diversity interest groups, active and passive jobseekers and more - these are just a few of my own circles, mind you. You have the ability to filter by profession, seniority, geography, language, etc.The possibilities are endless!I'd love to hear how you, or others, are using circles to manage the information stream you've found in G+ so far.2012-01-04 20:07:36348211
Louis Gray71,017It's been a little while since I shared with you my Googlers circle. This circle includes a massive number of people working on the Google+ project, company execs, and a lot of sharp people working on many of the services you use every day, including +Blogger +Android +YouTube, etc. Now that we can share 500 at a time, have at it. But this circle isn't for everyone, so if you do add them, expect geekiness ahead.2011-11-22 19:13:55500623470

Boo! Just in time for Halloween, we’re serving up two new treats for Android fans: KitKat (Android 4.4) and Nexus 5 developed with LG. Super excited to take the wraps off KitKat - packed with lots of cool features that deliver a smarter and more engaging user experience. And in Nexus 5, Google Now and Search are always at your fingertips or activated with a simple ‘Ok, Google’. Now is evolving with many new powerful use cases to bring the right information from across the web to you.

Also really excited that Kitkat will work on 512 MB devices, so that all entry level smartphones can get access to the latest version as well. This will really help us get Android to the next billion users...

Been a busy week for me and I have some catching up to do outside work -- ‘Ok, Google, ideas for last minute Halloween costumes...’

Also looking forward to the new devices our partners are launching in Berlin at IFA, played around with them last week and really nice  -- stay tuned; we’ve got a lot more coming!

All this Android innovation is driving tremendous ecosystem momentum and I’m excited to share that together we’ve now passed 1 Billion Android device activations. Exciting to see all the high quality Android devices available now, including Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, LG G2, Sony Xperia and many more. All this Android innovation is driving tremendous ecosystem momentum and I’m excited to share that together we’ve now passed 1 Billion Android device activations. Not sure I can watch this video, but amazing to see how new technology can be used. We have barely scratched the surface of how eventually computing will transform our lives. THanks +Jonathan Rosenberg  for sharing

Today my brother in law, +Lorne Rosenfield M.D.  became the first plastic surgeon to use Google Glass for a live streaming of a plastic surgery. The procedure, an eyelid lift (blepharoplasty), was performed on October 29th in his Burlingame surgery center and streamed in real time to plastic surgical residents at both UCSF and Stanford.

I watched the surgery in my car on my Motorola Maxx and shot this video. I did a quick search and there have only only been a couple of Google Glass recorded surgeries in the world, and this case became the first of its kind in plastic surgery. Although Google Glass may be in “beta” phase now, Dr. Rosenfield’s goal was to prove its far reaching potential in the operating rooms of the very near future!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Dr. Rosenfield at

I'm very excited to officially welcome the Advanced Technology and Projects group, led by Regina Dugan, to the team. Known to many as a small band of makers and believers, the +Google ATAP group will continue exploring the future of computing and where it's headed. The goal is to accelerate the development of promising technology in hopes of advancing the entire ecosystem.

Today's launch of Project Tango is just one example of this. It's inspiring to witness this kind of innovation at the hands of a community of developers, researchers, scholars, and more, and to see what's possible.

We are excited to announce a new project from ATAP, something that we have been working quietly on over the past year.

As we walk through our daily lives, we use visual cues to navigate and understand the world around us. We use our eyes to observe the size and shape of objects and rooms, and we learn their position and layout over time almost effortlessly . This awareness of space and motion is fundamental to the way we interact with our environment and each other.  We are physical beings that live in a 3D world. Yet, our mobile devices assume that physical world ends at the boundaries of the screen.

The goal of Project Tango is to give mobile devices a human-scale understanding of space and motion.

Our team has been working with universities, research labs, and industrial partners spanning nine countries around the world to harvest research from the last decade of work in robotics and computer vision, concentrating that technology into a unique mobile phone.  Now, we’re ready to put early prototypes into the hands of developers that can imagine the possibilities and help pull those ideas into reality.

What if you never found yourself lost in a new building again?  What if directions to a new location didn’t stop at the street address? Imagine playing hide-and-seek in your house with your favorite game character. Imagine competing against a friend for control over physical space with your own miniature army.

We hope you will take this journey with us. We believe it will be one worth traveling.  To find out more, and apply for a development kit visit  http://g.co/ProjectTango.

The future is awesome. Let’s build it together.

As I talked about at SXSW earlier this month, there’s tremendous opportunity in the wearables space. Today, very excited to introduce Android for Wearables -- can’t wait to see what our ecosystem of developers and partners build on this platform.

Sharing what’s up our sleeve: Android coming to wearables

Today we’re excited to extend Android to wearables. And we’re starting with the most familiar wearable—watches. We’re already working with several consumer electronics manufacturers, including Asus, HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung; chip makers Broadcom, Imagination, Intel, Mediatek and Qualcomm; and fashion brands like the Fossil Group to bring you watches powered by Android Wear later this year. If you’re a developer, check out developer.android.com/wear to download a Developer Preview so you can tailor your existing app notifications for watches powered by Android Wear. Look out for more developer resources and APIs coming soon.

World Press Photo of the year. Such an inspiring photo, to me shows the power of mobile and enabling the next billion people to have smartphones and connectivity.

The HP Chromebook 11 was done in close collaboration with the team that designed the Pixel. The quality of design for that price point is really nice! It is #1 on Amazon and 3 out of the top 6 laptops are Chromebooks.

The new Acer C720 has 4GB of RAM, is on Haswell and over 8 hours of battery life too for $250, will be great for schools! Looking forward to the holiday season

Thanks to everyone who has supported Chrome over the past 5 years. It's been an A-MAZING ride. We are assembling a 4,000-piece marble maze run here in Mountain View, and our team in Tokyo created a fun birthday edition of the World Wide Maze project so you can enjoy the festivities with us from home, at http://goo.gl/FnOp7

Only 126 days until the 7th annual Google I/O, when we come together with amazing developers like you to talk about what's next. On June 25-26, 2014, we’ll be broadcasting live from Moscone West. You can join us in person in San Francisco or remotely, via a live stream and through I/O Extended community events around the world.

More details to come next month, including registration info. In the meantime, you can check out highlights from last year at https://developers.google.com/events/io/.

Also, quick note for those who want to join in person: this year we’re making some changes to registration, so you won’t need to scramble the second registration opens. We'll be implementing a new system, where you can submit your interest to attend Google I/O 2014. Successful applicants will then be randomly selected and notified shortly thereafter.
