Golden Gate Bridge - Fort Point

It was one of the morning sunrise light long exposure study in Fort Point with this bridge. I wish there was some clouds in the sky. It is not easy to see it in the summer time. Thanks for looking my photos!

It was a very lucky snapshot in Sausalito morning to see such water reflection and its colors. No clouds in the no problem :). The airplane light trails will help for this time. The trick for this shot was to use the LED lights lit up these post and enhance the water reflection.

I have seen many nice sunray shots over the web. However, this my first time to see such sunray over the bay. These sunrays lasted about 10 to 15 minutes after the runrise with these patch clouds. The sunray is not thing for what you ask for it or same as the low fog rolls into the bay in the summer time. The magic was in the sky! .. or they call it the Heaven's light, the God's light.  to me, It is one of the best lucky snapshot I took in San Francisco in the past couple years :). I like to share of what seen with you! I hope you enjoy it :)

P.S. there was a air plane flew over the city at that time. I catch it in the frame :)

Sometimes the fog will cover the whole city and the GGB tower that you may only see fog from Hawk Hill, sometimes that you may not see the GGB that you're in the fog, somethings that you may see the fog covers the city but not the GGB this time. 

The view in here to see the GGB never the same each time in here , day and night :). This time was during the twilight blue moment with fog.

When the weather condition was right that you may see the red or orange moonrise :). However, I wasn't lucky enough to see the red moonrise last night from Fort Baker instead to see the orange moonrise :).. Well, you may see there was some layers or clouds from the east side over the bay bridge. I took couple shots when the moonrise just showed up over the horizon in the sky when it was behind the clouds. This shot is the best one I can share it with you. Full round moon, 99% :) in orange. However my angle of view wasn't perfect as plan :) I will try it again next month if I am lucky with clear sky. 

Norther America/San Francisco  did not see the Penumbral Eclipse last night instead of this big round full orange moon :)

First time to see the bay light + moonlight in here :)..It was lucky to see it in clear sky this time. No clouds/fog. The view was amazing to see in person. You may see the other people taken their moonlight photos by iphone. One of my lucky snapshot of the night!

The first time come here to practice the city night colors shoot. Not sure what to do or how to shoot i this point of view. I will definitely come back here to practice more when ever I have time in the weekend.

The old classic Ferry building meets the new bay light in a single shot :) I wish there was some clouds but not easy to see in here. May be in the morning time. One of my lucky snapshot of the day.

The colorful interior in the lobby. The long exposure that you may see the elevator went up and down to draw the line. It was an accident to find this spot to see the beautiful reflection of the lights. Almost like a mirror. Have you been to to here? check it out.

The early morning fog rolled into the bay this morning that it covered partial of the Marin Headlands but leave the city alone :). No Golden Gate Bridge towers that you can see , only the Sutro Tower still stand there. The fog formation was interesting to see it from  Mt. Tamalpais.  I wish they open the gate early that I can be in this east peak to see the sunrise colors or the dawn colors :) May be next time.

The ice in the San Francisco bay in such moody clouds over the city :) j/k It was one of the long exposure study I took from last weekend that I like to smooth the movement sea water. Have you been to Sausalito? It is one the best place to check out next to San Francisco. 15 minutes cross the Golden Gate Bridge. My favorite part is the clouds texture over the city during the sunset time. Well, it was overcast not much colors in the sky :) One of my lucky snapshot of the day.

When the weather condition is right in the morning that bridge has the magic touch -> glowing colors + blue sky :) You may see it in your eyes if you can wake up early in the morning to catch such colors.  A new perspective to see this bridge tower in the morning  One of my lucky snapshot in the morning color study.

The last light hit the south tower when the fog rolls into the bay covers the city only leave the GGB alone :) The fog season is about to begin this year. My favorite part was with these texture in the sky -> spike thing :) One of my lucky snapshot of the day!

Morning blue with some clouds over the city with view from Treasure Island. It was during the morning glowing moment. The sky was blue and the clouds reflect the city light. These clouds look like the city was in fire.. well, it is how the camera records the light with a reverse filter. There is no fire in the city :)

The blue does bring in the good mood in the morning and the colorful scenery.  Do you like the city by the bay? There always something new to see everyday in the morning and night. One of my lucky snapshot of the day!

Palace of Fine Arts with Golden Gate Bridge -> it is a new perspective to see these landmarks in the city. I was accidentally see it last night when I chase the moonrise in Marin headlands. A totally new thing for me to see how beautiful this city in a new way. I will share the my moonrise shot late . It was very dramatic with some clouds. Have a very nice day!

The morning light lit up these building and water reflection. The long exposure dose smooth the water with relax and calm feeling :). To the Embarcadero on Pier 14 is one of the best sport IMO. Good location to practice the day light long exposure technique.

BTW. do you still see The Raygun Gothic Rocketship before they remove it? I do miss that rocketship :) I am not sure what will they display in here.

The moon turned into red colors when it was doing down to the horizon over the San Francisco city from the far side. It was totally worth to wake up early to capture such moment in frame. I had been tried to take the moonset over the city in the past three months already. All failed due the different weather condition . :) It is my very lucky snapshot of the day. I will post a different shot when the moon was bit higher in the sky. Chase the moon continue.

Morning thick fog rolled into the bay last weekend. Mt. Tamalpais is the best place to see the fog and dawn colors. You may see the layers of light and colors. Red, yellow and blue :)  One of my lucky snapshot of the day :) Happy Monday!

Colorful things can brighten your morning mood :) That is one reason I wake up early morning to capture these dawn colors. Have you been to Marin headlands to see the sunrise ? How about a nice burning sky some day. My inspiration really comes from the color things and nature that surrounds me here in the bay area -- the San Francisco :) There always something new to see different time of the day. As long as you spend time to explore it and try different method to capture the snapshot :)

It was a very lucky snapshot of the sunrise over the horizon with the bay bridge tower over the east side. It is a new point of view to see the sunrise with this bridge and the cityscape in the back drops. You may see Coit tower is about the same height as the bay bridge tower. However, it looks much different if you see the Transamerica from top of the Coit tower to the city :). Is the north tower much higher than the Transamerica ? The view in here has different prescriptive to see the city. A new study needs more time in this location to see the city.

Layers of gradient colors with this most photographed  bridge in the world :). I never get bored looking at it. How about you? There is about 101 ways to see this bridge from all different angles. Sunset Colors - Golden Gate Bridge
Can you tell how large the sun is it? You may see the scale of the bridge with a sail boat. There was some texture/haze in the sky in order to create this optic distortion  There is no trick for this type of shots. As long as you shoot it with the long lens for such compress view. One of the new  type study I like to spend more to to practice. Chase the sun continue :) One my lucky snapshot of the day.

Breakthrough - Marin Headlands

It was a rare morning to see such light breakthrough the thick clouds. Somebody will say it is the "Heaven's light". Well, I am not sure how to describe it or how to capture it in a better way. To me, I like this wide panorama view of the surrounding things in this classic spot :) It is definitely a once in a life time chance to see it in person. I was so lucky in here to take this very lucky snapshot of the day!

The burning sky --> red. It was much "redder" from my eyes to see it instead captured it in the digital files. The analog signals were stronger than the digital signals :). It is a panorama shot to merge 6 photos together for this view from Hawk Hill. The classic view of with the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco city in there :) One of my favorite place to practice the sunrise shoot in the weekend. Have a nice day :)

The moonset colors changed within about 2 minutes during the sunrise time. I photo merge four photos about in 2 minutes interval you may see the colors changed from orange to red before it went down to the horizon. Also the moon moved fast or the earth rotates fast too :) well, This is something new that I like to try. 

I will post a time lapse video for this moonset study later when I have time to put them together :)  Have a nice day!

Full Moonset with Golden Gate Bridge

Good morning San Francisco,

Chase the moon continue at this spot in a nice clear weather morning. No haze/fog or clouds :) I have been chased the moonset for the past couple months but the weather did not play well the the moon or the moonrise/moonset. It isn't that easy to click correct exposure of the moon the the surround things or the foreground subject. My shot was a totally lucky snapshot. is this moonset shot interesting to you? It takes lots planing and research for this lucky snapshot. Not that easy. Thanks the mother nature for the nice weather this morning.

First time to chase the full moonrise with the Coit Tower in here. The shot wasn't that good but I am happy with my lucky snapshot of the night. Since the the newbie shot of the moon with Coit tower that I do not have any shooting experiences in this area. I wish I can align the moon in different position with Coit tower. Chase the moon continue . :) I will try again next month with full moon and weather condition permitted first :)

It was one of the sunrise view from Hawk hill to see the city with blankets fog in front of you. The weather patterns change this month. I remember I seen the low log in in this month last year but not this year :). Well, have to wait and see.

They open the Pier 32 area for the pubic parking now. It was a very lucky snapshot in here at night after the rain with the water reflection. You may see the Embarcadero center holiday lights was on during the holidays time.

This was a very lucky snapshot in this location first time to test my long exposure during at night. I see the cable car stopped on Hyde street also with the down hill cars light trail to fill in the whole Lombard street :). What can I say about this shot? I will spend more time to study this beautify city at night also to explore the possibility for the lucky snapshots :)
