The Saut Hermès International Jumping CSI 5* in the Grand Palais in Paris

On a day trip to Paris, I shot this pano yesterday while assisting this equestrian event in the architectural masterpiece location that is the Grand Palais . Built in 1900, the bright glass roof is extremly impressive, and provides excellent light for taking pictures!

I've been musing about my favorite timesinks before Google+ , and http://popurls.com came to my mind again. Numerous hours were spend browsing sites from there, so, just in case you didn't know, or you forgot about that site, and you have some spare time (who has?), you may want to have a look and get ready for some serious procrastinformation overload.

tl;dr:Productivity Killer ahead!

About Shoes...

Many years ago this was a thriving, happy planet - people, cities, shops, a normal world. Except that on the high streets of these cities there were slightly more shoe shops than one might have thought necessary. And slowly, insidiously, the number of these shoe shops were increasing.

It's a well-known economic phenomenon but tragic to see it in operation, for the more shoe shops there were, the more shoes they had to make and the worse and more unwearable they became.

And the worse they were to wear, the more people had to buy to keep themselves shod, and the more the shops proliferated, until the whole economy of the place passed what I believe is termed the Shoe Event Horizon , and it became no longer economically possible to build anything other than shoe shops.

Result - collapse, ruin and famine. Most of the population died out.... more »

Looks like the quote spammers started to reveal their real game...

Saw two of these posts in What's Hot , seems like they stopped posting quote pics and are using links to their sites now, I guess it improves their overall Google ranking.

I flag these posts as spam as soon as I see them, hope that helps...

Workaround to see at least some posts on a profile...

... if you have a MacBook. Only problem, the trackpad doesn't rotate, so up is left, left is down etc...

Hold [alt] and [cmd] key together while starting Preferences , keep them pushed and click on Display icon, an option to rotate the screen will appear!

6 large squadrons of these bio-bombers just passed by, heading north...

and they were chit-chatting all the time, what a noisy population... wouldn't want to have those as neighbours!

Probably not your usual breakfast...

Olives, brazil nuts, dried viande des grisons , 5 minute egg, green Japan Sencha tea, salt & pepper, and an orange juice enhanced with 25gr of fresh ginger.

The design on the mug says energy , well, it is! No bread, no sugar (except the one contained in the juice), no milk-based products, pretty close to what we used to eat some time ago when we descended from the trees...

If you want to put a name on it, you may call it Paleo diet...

Added bonus: 3d printed egg stand!

Adrenalin Kick for Beginners

Shot this last week, first time trying such a jump, not really spectacular, nevertheless I needed to do some serious convincing of my inner Angsthase to overcome my apprehensions...

But, as always with actions that require some self-convincing, the feeling afterwards is great, and screams for more...
