Post-glacial rebound
The Wikipedia article is rather brief when mentioning how it was discovered. In fact the scientific debate about the water reduction is quite interesting in itself.
That water receded and new land appeared was documented in the 1600s. One theory (1702) was that the Danish sounds were wideing and letting more Baltic water out into the world ocean, another (1719) that Earth's rotation was changing leading water to accumulate at the equator; Celsius calculated it to be 1 meter / 100 years and suggested evaporation with not everything returning to the sea as a possible reason. Another hypothesis was that a cooling Earth would shrink and wrinkle.
In the early 1800s it was determined that it did  happen at a faster rate further north.

Russian media interviews Swedes (and Frenchmen) and totally makes up what they say.
This article in Swedish (and unfortunately Swedish public service broadcasting has stopped its Russian service, so how is any Russian to learn otherwise?) is about how a civil servant points of nature reserves on Gotland which is used as an example of how Gotland is a military focus point.
Recently our Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency notes that Sweden is the subject of daily information operations: http://sverigesradio.se/sida/artikel.aspx?programid=83&artikel=6482294
And this morning our Security Service notes that foreign agencies start companies in Sweden in order to bid for outsourcing contracts at agencies with special security concerns. But won't mention any specifics.

This scene was captured seven years ago in the industrial district of the town Gus-Khrustalny.

It was one of my first trips for railroad photography. My purpose was to visit the narrow gauge railway of the transportation enterprise in Gus-Khrustalny. On my way to the motive-power depot of that enterprise my attention was drawn to CHME3 class diesel engine (on the left) that performed shunting operations at an industrial railway station. I had stopped my car and gone to the tracks through the bushes. When I had came at the station I found the second engine - my favorite TGK2 class (on the right).

It's a casual photo but I like it very much.

List of Swedish monarchs.
It can be noted that even for the first "known" there's a lot of guesswork involved and it's quite unclear if he really ruled both parts of what we think of as original "Sweden".
There's also good reason to think that a few of the mythical kings actually existed, but there's even more guesswork involving them when it comes to match one of them with a reasonably historical mention by a chronicler.
