English artist Ken Howard is one of my favourite artists, you really have to see his pictures in person.
I love his huge paintings especially his studio paintings.
I bought his book "Inspired by Light" when I last visited The Royal Academy.

"Brill Windmill" (Acrylic on canvas 16x20)
(This is a work in progress)
Situated about nine miles from where I live is a post mill constructed around 1680, there are only about a dozen other surviving 17th Century post-mills in Britain.
The mill was used for grinding flour until 1919, it was then continued to be used for grinding barley for animal feed until 1923.
In the late 1960's an internal steel framework was built to support the windmill, this meant that the windmill became static and could no longer turn to face the the wind, but it has assured the survival of the windmill to the present day.
From 2008 an intensive restoration project took place to ensure the survival of the windmill for generations to come, this restoration was completed in 2009.
This is an ideal place to go with my Art Club to paint, and it is lovely to see the children fly their kites... more »

Herb Miller concert I attended at Wycombe Abbey, Buckinghamshire
24th July 1988- it was the Herb Miller concert orchestra, the concert was dedicated to Herb Miller (Glenn's younger brother) who had died 30th Sep 1987.
The band was directed by John Miller (Glenn's nephew)
It was a outside concert which was recreated as it was when Glenn Miller was there 29th July 1944.
Amazing day!
(Must go back to tidying my cupboard and not reading everything I find! :-)
