Waiting for content to load is annoying. People have developed a ton of different clever loading techniques to make the transition smoother or keep users entertained while they wait.

Pinterest, an app that's obviously all about images, does something pretty clever: Pinterest analyzes each image and stores the image's dominant color to be utilize just as the page loads.

"The cake aims to be a level-accurate depiction of levels 2.1 and 2.2. I chose those levels as it allowed me the variety to depict three different 'places' on tiers that could be joined relative to one another. I picked level 2 as I originally thought I could fit the whole level on the cake, but as I began I realised even these beginning levels were too long. 

The cake took about 5 days to finish. There was a lot more detail than I expected. Everything from the stripes on the pipes to the embossing of the stones took a lot of time. Everything is hand cut, mostly with a craft knife, and either embossed or painted (with edible ink) to add the details. It's all fondant or marzipan, save for the coral and the waves, which are piped from royal icing."

One thing that makes Glass awesome is that you can just long press on the touchpad any time and speak to ask Google a question. It’s a super fast way to search which, it turns out, is pretty magical.

I just had a younger person ask me for advice who was confused about his sexuality. He then described his varying levels of emotional and sexual interests in both men and women.

I then said him... "You just described to me exactly what you like and what you don't like... so what's the actual problem? You don't know what to label yourself? Why does it matter? How will simply labeling your sexuality make your life any better?"

Teens always get hung up on the question of what they are. "Am I gay? Am I straight? Am I bisexual?" The better question is: "Am I happy?"
