Humbug to the Android! Hum your tune and if you aren't totally out of tune, SoundHound lets you know what it is. Hilarious fun, from twinkle twinkle to Bat Out Of Hell (although the first attempt did give that as Umbrella!)

Italian election - "...a former European Commissioner and adviser to Goldman Sachs just got completely hammered at the polls by a former comedian."
Brilliant! Although my personal "uneducated" opinion is that the little guy didn't cause this world economic crisis, and it appears as though the 1% that did have and continue to squirrel away billions of dollars / euros / pounds in tax havens while the world's governments seem to be saying its up to the little guy to pick up the bill via higher taxes and austerity measures. Why not just let the whole system go belly up and start again? Sure a few would be out of pocket, but i'm sure the vast majority would be better off?
And while we're at it make it illegal for countries to operate in debt, ok give them some room for investment say 5% of GDP max?

11pm tonight - PS4 come on sony, heres my wishlist:
- quicker load and boot times (5 mins from turning the console on to shooting someone is way too long!)
- easier multi-profile management
- browser switched out for Chrome with full flash compatibility
- android boot-up mode H/W compatible with XBMC (why do I need a pivos?)
- true reality graphics engine (esp for games like golf - I want dvd quality scenery)
- faster online apps (iplayer / vidzone are just way too slow)
- tape deck
Ok only joking about the tape deck but the rest I'd love and appreciate more than an Independence Day version of COD!

Dear Google, I sort of want to have sex with you. Or I want you to be my father. Or my best friend. I don't know, I feel so nervous writing this letter. I hope you write back but you can't because you're God and God has to care for all of Her People and not just one tiny little person like me.

Dear Google,
The other day I wanted to learn about "Vincent Van Gogh". I saw a book in the bookstore but it looked boring and it was around 1000 pages. Who would read such a book?
But when I was thumbing through it I saw how he was trying to become friends with other artists and how he was trying to organize exhibitions of other artists. It was almost like he was trying to build his TRIBE which is a modern word to describe a group with similar interests who try to help each other.
Van Gogh had the right idea. I wanted to read more about ... more »

Japanese artist Nagai Hideyuki is a master of fine art illusion who first impressed us with his perspective-based sketches last year. The illustrator has since expanded his collection of clever creations, once again boggling our minds with his skilled illusion techniques. The 3D illustration specialist manages to produce anamorphic illusions across flat surfaces, often by lining up two sketchbooks perpendicular to one another. His playful imagination introduces a cast of creative characters jumping off the page and making their way into the real world.

Plussers! I need your help. On the other social media platforms I am on I asked that fans write in to get the name of one of Pluto's moons Vulcan (Romulus was already the name of a moon.) It apparently made a difference as they now have added it as an official name. Isn't that wonderful.
However, we now need votes, as Pluto was put put up today and we are in last place. Would you please consider voting?

This assignment was turned in by two Grade 12 English students (let’s call them Rebecca and Gary) which they carried out via email. The assignment was in a form of a tandem story where both students had to each write a paragraph of the story, taking turns.
THE STORY: (first paragraph by Rebecca)
At first, Laurie couldn't decide which kind of tea she wanted. The chamomile, which used to be her favourite for lazy evenings at home, now reminded her too much of Carl, who once said, in happier times, that he liked chamomile. But she felt she must now, at all costs, keep her mind off Carl. His possessiveness was suffocating, and if she thought about him too much her asthma started acting up again. So chamomile was out of the question.
Meanwhile, Advance Sergeant Carl Harris, leader of the attack squadron now in orbit over Skylon 4, had more important things to th... more »

The Fastest Plane on Earth [25 pics] ... via Twisted Sifter - "Since 1976, the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird has held the world record for the fastest ‘air-breathing manned aircraft’ with a recorded speed of 1,905.81 knots (2,193.2 mph; 3,529.6 km/h). That works out to a staggering 36.55 miles/58.83 km per minute. The Blackbird was so fast that its strategy against surface-to-air missiles was to simply accelerate and outfly them. Below you will find an extensive gallery of this iconic aircraft along with information on the history, design and records the plane holds to this day. ..." http://twistedsifter.com/2012/12/lockheed-sr-71-blackbird-worlds-fastest-plane/

Google Search Is Going from Bad to Worse -- (ps. I love Google!)
What is going on at Google? I can't believe I've had to start using other search engines to look for stuff - WHY? Because the High Street Stores are now dominating the rankings. Try it, search google for:
1. Pedometer
2. Coffee Mugs
3. Innotab 2
4. Anything you'd want to buy!
And then count how many times the following appear in the results:
John Lewis
Tesco
Argos
Amazon
Ebay
et al the High Street.
Seriously I don't need to search Google to goto John Lewis, I can just visit their site. I don't want the same results, especially the High Street, Ebay and Amazon showing for EVERY SEARCH RESULT!
Please sort this out, it's been annoying me for weeks and seems to only get worse and even non techies have begun to comment ... more »

What a croc of brown stuff. PMQ's are a joke. Toff's spitting out there dummies.
Ah rant time!
Isn't it time we had a new system of politics that overcomes the "you said this" "no i didnt" and actually get stuff done? I think we need Abramovich installed as Il Presidente, I think we could do with a few PM's firing (Cameron, Brown!).
Is it really that hard to run a country? Why does a country need to operate in debt, should this be even legal? Putting debt on future generations?
If the country couldn't afford to go to Iraq, or Afghanistan why are we there?
Why is it Legal for the rich and corporations to escape tax by funnelling profits into other areas? (Amazon, Google, Starbucks seem to be in the limelight for this at the moment - but we've all known about it for years)
How can David Cameron s... more »

The internet is a great equalizer, a wonderful resource, and probably the best education tool in the world. It is one of the greatest innovations in the history of mankind. To leave it's fate in the hands of the politicians, and the people who bankroll them would be the single biggest mistake ever made. Lets hope this never happens.

Windows 8 - Yeah maybe Windows 88 they will get it right, if they are still around.
I played with Windows 8 yesterday on a tablet (samsung), laptop (samsung) and a giant window screen (pc world shop window!). Utter rubbish on all platforms, although the giant window was fun for a minute or two - but so slow and unresponsive.
Microsoft need to re-look at how they build software and concentrate on making it "work" rather than trying to create unique and crazy UI's (Yeah I love widgets as much as the next guy, but when the whole screen is moving, rotating and doing crazy stuff I just want to press PAUSE!).
It's like they have added a launcher over the top of windows xp and said there you go, a new op-sys! You even see the desktop spring back out every now and again during app launches ( that did make me lol, kinda like when the ATM's go on the blink and... more »

crApple Rant - so frustrating ....
AWWW! I hate crApple, every time I try and do something with crApple it turns into a huge ballache! Simple task, copy contacts from iphone4 to Google Contacts, an hour later after following several guides and getting nowhere type them in manually!
Weather its syncing the wrong way (new device, sync it with itunes and instead of copying all the old stuff to the new device, it copies the stuff from the New device - i.e nothing - over to the old device and wipes the old stuff off!)
So annoying that a simple operation is so badly supported (even my old nokias had simple export contact apps), but then I suppose it's crApple's thing to stop people from moving onto better phones, it's easier to attack them in the courts. Well at least the UK is having none of it's childish mud slinging!
