From the top to the bottom
Spent the morning hanging my work in the next show, [Re]figured Photography at the Low Road Gallery, curated and directed by the lovely +Jessica Adams .

I did get a peek back in the dusty storage rooms.
The space used to be a printing press for Banner Graphic here in Greencastle.
I took a picture of the epic enlarging camera that was down there! So epic!

I immediately got excited when I realized that I could submit it for #historythursday (+History Thursday ) by +Matt Shalvatis!

Thursdays I'm Your Gypsy

It's not surprising that I am finding great conversation in the realm of #halfnekkidthursday ! I love my epidermis, even thought its pasty white and almost translucent right now. Sometimes I get out of a cool shower and can see all my veins. !!! Anyways, this didn't turn out quite like I had hoped since I have yet to buy another wireless shutter release. I need to research better Pin-Up poses. But oh well. Cheers for the Half Nekkids today!

Back in the Saddle

So its Wednesday... Yay! #womenwednesday ! And I have begun to collect backward portraits again. Very exciting times are ahead, as I have been asked to come speak about my work in two classes at DePauw University. You bet I have been smiling all day.

Of course I will be speaking about the wonderful women that helped me on my journey, none other than +Niki Aguirre +Athena Carey +Lee Daniels +Christina Lawrie +Teresa Stover and +Kerry Murphy ! <3 <3 <3

Anyways, I by no means want to detract from this lovely lady's neck. Her name is also Athena (!) and she is one of the most interesting people I have met. I Survived!

Super Bowl was fabulous. Lots of drama and lots of tips!
I'm happy its over though. I can stop being a full-time server and go back to being a starving artist/student/TA/whatever falls into my lap. I'm happy to be back in my preferred field. More fine art photography is coming.

Waiting for Summer

Talk about nostalgia. My baby is waiting for new rear quarter panels and some work on her ragtop before she can hit the road again. Nothing feels more right than being behind the wheel of a '71 Cutlass Supreme. We call her the double banana split. (I also don't recommend multitasking a DSLR while driving 70mph.)

Channeling Scarlet Johansson

Today was beautifully foggy until noon. I tried to get some new shots in the buff while the clouds were still on my level, but my remote shutter release refused to work. Argh. Came home and washed away the cold mud. Hot showers are the best. So here is my cheap shot at a #halfnekkidthursday stealing Ms. Johansson's clever POV.

And! I am turning over a new leaf when it comes to bathroom time.
If you haven't heard of Lush beauty and bath products, you should definitely check out their website. Everything is natural, fresh, and even vegan most of the time. (I'm not vegan, gawd knows I eat a raw cheeseburger every chance I get.) The smells are what sold me. Fundraising for Grad School Application fees

Finally got an Esty shop up and running for those that have expressed interest in buying prints from me. Yay! I can make prints of any of my work, but these are the ones I have listed so far. I'm trying to make some ends meet, so I figured why not get my stuff out there. Keeping my fingers crossed and hopefully drumming up some business at tomorrow night's opening of The Millennials Exhibition in Lexington at Transylvania's Morlan Gallery.

Gaia: The Incubation

So today was absolutely beautiful and fierce. The wind nearly blew my car off the road, but the sunlight was too beautiful to not bask in, regardless of the frigid weather. I wish I could see goosebumps on my skin in this, but alas my perpetually lilly white skin is blown out in most of my exposures. And sorry if I didn't warn NSFW.

Cheers to 2012. I have a good feeling about it. I do believe I will be trying my best to stay on the ball with my goal of shooting a self-portrait at least once a week. Finishing Touches

I am sitting in my cozy, little apartment drinking cold milk from my favorite mug and guiltlessly eating fresh cookies. Everything is warm and fuzzy. My candles smell of cinnamon apple and ginger snap while my sound system has some classical christmas music playing. I am preparing my grad school applications and am finding so much to cram into a 500-word letter of intent. Perseverance is key and know one demonstrates this more than my grandmother, Hilda. She is as strong and german as they come, but with the best grandmother qualities I could have asked for, since it's a toss up what she is better at, baking or sewing. So while I am munching on some cookies that can't hold a candle to her homemade recipes, I will post this image of her, helping with the bridesmaid dresses in my cousin's recent wedding. One of my FAVORITES

This was a wonderful show and probably some of the best publicity work I have done, considering how creative the entire production team was for Eurydice. My image of The Stones comes from the promotional shots I took for the press package. I am also waiting to get a postcard from the person who claimed they were getting my blue lady tattooed in their sleeve. :)

Getting all the ducks in a row

So I am trying to decide the best way to show all my work. I am looking into the Behance Prosite, however I don't know if I like the combination of my Fine Art and my Commercial Art on the same site. G+ has really helped me iron out my previous work, so I think I am going to continue to use it as a sort of Idea Board. Good vibes for sure. Maybe organizing everything publicly will help keep my motivation going with my grad school applications.

Feeling Selfy

So it's not an official Selfy Sunday apparently, but I wanted to do a self-portrait and dedicate it to +Niki Aguirre . The lovely lady made me so happy with her tribute to my Saving Face project. Maybe this is a self sunday disguised as a selfless sunday? Nonetheless, Niki's style always strikes me with her dark, rolling hair and clear, bright eyes. She focuses on these beautiful features and they draw you into her atmosphere of suspension. I tried to make my hair look like a hurricane, but it swallowed my face in pretty much all of my attempts. Definitely harder than it looks. Props to you for doing it so seemingly effortless Niki! Hope you and everyone who gives me such wonderful support have a warm and happy holiday season. Cheers!

Saving Face!

Here's a snapshot of me standing next to part of my exhibit. I am now in the process of finding the best framing option for these beauties so that they can become a permanent fixture in the Women's Center's art collection. Hell yes!

So I have been anxiously chomping at the bit to share the final products from my recent opening, Saving Face: Portraits and Poetry by Andrea E. Hutchinson and J.C. Pankratz Woohoo! Today I will be uploading the pictures and the poems that were paired with them. Some of them have no poem, but are just as beautiful still. There is talk of getting a publishing deal, so I am all atwitter with excitement.
