Do you use Flickr to find images for your blog?
In case you missed the news, there's a new Flickr available now. It's a beautiful new layout that mirrors a lot of the trends we're seeing in other web services and social networks.
I use Flickr daily to find new images for blog posts. I use Flickr instead of a Google Images search because of one reason: copyright. With Flickr, you can filter images so that you only see images the owners have said are free to use. This is called Creative Commons, and it's a critical component of blogging. You always need to include an image with your blog posts, but you never want to include an image you have no right to use!

Looking for Crack
I had to go down the coast in the middle of the day to find some crack. This spot fit the bill nicely :)
On an unrelated note - lots of change lately in the photo-sharing sites ... personally I love change. Sometimes it's not all perfect, but if things did not change we would still be stuck with the old MySpace, Orkut, and the like. Either way - change always seems to bring out haters and complainers - which can be a good thing too :)

Wadi Al-Salaam is an Islamic cemetery, located in Shia holy city of Najaf, Iraq. It is reputed to be the largest cemetery in the world. It is estimated more than half a million corpses are interred in the cemetery each year. The cemetery covers 1485.5 acres (6 km²) and contains millions of bodies.

Don't people in Oklahoma have storm shelters and some sort of tornado early warning system? Serious question - not trying to be cynical.
Many schools, shopping malls and courthouses are civil defense (bomb) shelters in California. Those Oklahoma school kids should have been able to get into their shelter with a two or three minute warning.
So, what was missing; the warning or the shelter?

We Are All Broken
It has taken me since Sunday to be able to upload this image, this is another homeless man called Peter, I had photographed him many years before, 2007 to be exact, the year I first picked up a DSLR.
I was making my back to the car with my wife when I heard a penny whistle being played, I thought it has been too long to be him but it was. Time has not been kind to him, being on the streets has really taken its toll, he has aged more like twenty years not six, I sat to speak with him as he made roll ups with the cigarette butts he had collected from the pavements, other peoples casts off. He was wearing military fatigues as he was way back, now though they were well worn, I noticed his hands as he played with the tobacco and papers, you can see what the time he has spent on the streets has done, swollen, skin cracked and dirt ingrained.

He married Dorothy Fujikawa in 1967, and she was with him until the end. They had one son, Pablo, and three grandchildren. Manzarek died of cancer yesterday, in a clinic in Germany. This now looks very similar across all devices. So whether you are using Chrome or Android (or iOS) you will find usuality and style to be almost the same.
I will focus on Google Chrome as this is where most of the changes have been, and forgive me for any errors/omissions as I am still working it all through...
Site structure:
The side bar of options for e.g. profile, communities, ‘what’s hot’ etc, is now a hover activated one.
The top bar of e.g. for a profile options for ‘about’ are now at the top of the page instead of being underneath the ‘cover photo’
Google+ Search is hidden at the top until you need it
