My favorite ballad from Nazareth. I love the words, the beat and the very distinctive sound of this band.
Walking alone at night in the cold rain
Wondering if I will see you again
In some corner light
Running down the road in the warm sun
Dreaming that I am still the one
Resting by your side
You took the road to fortune and fame
Your name in lights
I want you to know I still feel the same
Star, I still love you
I still love you
Remembering when you played me that first song
The first show that you asked me along
Just to be around
Working so hard till you got that first break
You said you could turn them around
Give them something new
You took the road to fortune and fame
Your name in lights
I want you to know I still feel the same
Star, I still love you

I've been listening to some of my old favorites from long ago. Nazareth was one of my favorites when I was a teenager.

While I was waiting for twilight this evening I couldn't resist the rich colors in this sunset. It was risky to set up my tripod due to thunder and lighting so I worked as fast as I could.

My favorite from this morning. These beautiful Geraniums won't be around much longer. So I'm getting photos while I can.

"Honey Bee and Geranium" I spent a few minutes this morning checking out the insects in my gardens. Honey Bees are so darn busy that most of my photos didn't turn out. Just as soon as I got them in focus they were gone.

While all the rain has been falling around here my flowers have been busy blooming. This is "Johnson Blue Geranium" in my left front yard border.

Landscape view from the reservoir earlier this month. This is my place to go when my spirit and mind need time to relax. I can just close my eyes and the sound of the wind in the trees, the songs of birds and the fresh air takes me away to simpler less stressful times. When I'm taking photos that is all that I think about so it's a great way to escape everyday problems.

I am so frustrated right now. I thought that Fine Art America would release the money I made from sales I made in May on June 15th.But NO! Not till the middle of July! We are counting on that money to pay bills. Darn, if it's not one thing it's ten ARRGH! Not a thing I can do besides deal with it. Hope that everyone is having a better day than I am ;- )

On my way up the hill to head home after shooting the tracks. There was a storm building and I saw lightning and heard distant thunder. I made it back to my car with only minutes to spare. We had a pretty good thunder storm for here in Montana. Lots of hail too but it was really small thank goodness. Happy Humpday Google Plus.

This lovely Cedar Waxwing posed for me for a minute or two. Waxwings are characterized by soft silky plumage. (Bombycilla, the genus name, is Vieillot's attempt at Latin for "silktail", translating the German name Seidenschwänze.)[1] They have unique red tips to some of the wing feathers where the shafts extend beyond the barbs; in the Bohemian and Cedar Waxwings, these tips look like sealing wax, and give the group its common name (Holloway 2003). The legs are short and strong, and the wings are pointed. The male and female have the same plumage. All three species have mainly brown plumage, a black line through the eye and black under the chin, a square-ended tail with a red or yellow tip, and a pointed crest. The bill, eyes, and feet are dark. Calls are high-pitched, buzzing or trilling monosyllables (Sibley 2000, MacKinnon and Phillipps 2000).

Our assignment this week is learning about different types of light. We will take 7 photos at different times of the day to show how the quality of light changes. This is my mid day shot for week 3 in our mentorship group.

From the clouds in the sky and the light that was developing I thought the sunset just might be pretty darn nice. These two shots were taken with different light conditions. The first is back light and the 2nd is side light. Hope that everyone is having a wonderful week.

"Painted Geranium" I love turning my photos into works of art with the oil paint filter in CS6 but I won't be able to do this for much longer. The subscription my Dad got for me will run out shortly. On a good note I am starting to get a few portrait jobs. Yay! I need the work badly. Have a wonderful week everyone and enjoy all the beauty that Spring has to offer.

PLUS post week 2
+Sairam Sundaresan Thanks to +G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers for creating this amazing way to share their knowledge with others that want to learn. Last week we learned about using our histogram effectively and exposing to the right. Our 2nd week assignment covered many areas including themes such as isolation, motion and story telling. I was forced to slow down and think about ways to capture these themes using the best creative exposure. We were also introduced to auto bracketing and I made a few shots using that method. From that experience I learned that what you are shooting will determine the exposure interval you need. For example a sunset shot with a wide range of light and tones will require a larger interval so you can capture all the tones and light. I need a lot more experience with bracketing and learning how to use software to process these photos.
