Les ibis rouges ont des pieds légèrement palmés et un fin bec incurvé vers le bas. Son caractère le plus remarquable demeure cependant son magnifique plumage presque entièrement rouge, hormis l'extrémité bleu-noir lustré des ailes. La couleur varie du rouge écarlate au rose orangé selon la population, la saison et la nourriture. La coloration spectaculaire de l'ibis rouge est due à la présence de caroténoïdes, pigments contenus dans son alimentation et notamment les crevettes. Desert Sparrow (Passer simplex)
Sahara desert, Morocco.

I was delighted to find a small family group of Desert Sparrows living at a tiny Berber camp in the middle of nowhere. They had proved very difficult to find on previous visits to north Africa. I crawled around the tents and mud huts for close-ups and couldn't believe my luck when this male hopped onto this old teapot and posed for a single image.

It's so much fun to photograph subjects that are not shy.
This laughing gull was so curious that he came so close to me that right after this set of photos he was to close for me to focus on him. These kind of interactions with nature are what keeps me going.
