There has to be someone in #thailand near #phuket who can help out a friend of mine. She is a #canadian #kindergartenteachers who teaches overseas, & is going thru a rough time. We have her covered as far as certain things - but having someone who could just befriend them (she has her American husband with her), maybe take them to dinner -- help them get to #bangkok to renew their visas...

I've been waiting a while to write this article, but with BuzzFeed relaunching it's community spotlighting today I figured now was a good time as any. So I took to my keyboard and wrote the genesis of how my experience here created The LittleBigFund. Today Is #worldwaterday and I pledge to...
(I'm literally stealing these words directly from +Elliot Polokoff as they can't be beat).
... Do whatever it is that I can to raise awareness for this crisis. With over 780 million families around the world without access to clean water, the call to action needs to start now. It's all about clean, safe water.
What am I doing? I took a video down at the creek on the edge of our farm. It's waters were fairly clean today, but some days, they are muddier than almost anything I've seen. For people who would be getting their water to survive from my creek, they'd be playing Russian Roulette with their lives every single day.

Today is World Water Day
While our planet is 72% or so covered in water, we have a water crisis. Water is a shared resource and we need it to survive. Yet with global population growth, development, pollution, etc there may not be enough clean water in a few decades.
In the U.S. we are spoiled with cheap, clean water. The water from our sinks are clean, the water from our showers are clean, heck, the water in our toilets is probably cleaner than the water you can find in developing countries. We can fill up our huge bathtubs, take a long shower with high water pressure, and wash dishes with the water running.
We are spoiled. We waste good, clean water that may save lives in other countries. And to think that what we take for granted is causing major conflicts in other parts of the world is....shocking and alarming.
