Today we launched Hangouts - our new, upgraded Real Time Communication product.

But, if you're looking to start a Hangout On Air you'll need to do that from within Google+. I'll outline the steps below, and provide some screen shots.

1. Open G+
2. Open the left-hand navigation panel.
3. Click on "Hangouts On Air"
4. Click the "Start a Hangout On Air" button.
5. Name your HOA and invite your guests (if there are any).
6. Click "Start Hangout On Air"

Abstract: This paper introduces the augmented reality game Ingress with a discussion of its developing economy and exchange practices. As a game currently in ‘beta’ its economy is continually evolving. With each iteration of gameplay development there is pressure on the developers - NianticLabs - to reduce player cheating, opening the game to a wider audience and increase the capabilities and functionalities available to each player. The aim of this paper is to understand the extent to which Ingress is moving towards a recognisable and ‘conventional’ economy as a response to these demands and pressures. To aid this aim a visual mapping of the current economy is presented. Reached 5000 limit in your Google+ account?

Google+ imposes a restriction of 5000 people in your circles total. So, what do you do when you reach this limit? What if there are more interesting people to add to your circles?

Of course, you can review people (and their posts) in your circles one by one in order to decide which ones have no added-value for your stream and then remove them from all your circles. However, it's not a productive way of doing things.

Here I'm going to introduce some capabilities of +Circloscope (an extension for Google Chrome) which can help you acheive the goal of making some room for new additions :-)

Since just before Christmas I have been playing Ingress the augmented reality game (http://www.ingress.com/ ) that is now worldwide. The May 2013 edition of Thunder Bay Seniors  has at least three articles of direct relevance to this game.
1)Walking.  
There are a half dozen portals in the immediate neighbourhood of the photo that heads www.tbayseniors.com. The game involves walking from one portal to another. There are a dozen more within my walking distance. And hundreds of thousands more beyond that.

Ingress #SitRep Ingress Advanced.
Took a train to Norwich to meet seven other level 8 Resistance to build the first level 8 portal in the city. We built 23 level 8 portals and burned them out. I set out in the morning with 5 level 8 resonators and a similar number of bursters and returned after 12 hours playing with 95 level 8 bursters and 90 level 8 resonators.
I've touched the truly social level of Ingress and I want more. Norwich is a lovely city. The castle in the centre, the sculptures and churches. Lunch was Chinese street food, a chicken curry for £3.50p, which kept me going all afternoon. I even saw a peregrine falcon atop a tall spire and learned there is a web cam on the nest.
Now I have spread my wings as a true level 8 player and I want more of this way of doing Ingress. I'm feeling what +Linda Besh is always describing - awesome!

For those of you who play tech support for friends and family, there’s now a Hangouts app to make things easier -- powered by the same technology behind Chrome Remote Desktop. 

Hangouts Remote Desktop lets you help others by controlling their computer remotely (with their permission, of course). And because you’re both in a Hangout, you can talk with and see each other during the session.

To get started, just start a Hangout and click View More Apps > Add Apps > Hangouts Remote Desktop.

This morning on The Current. In my opinion the age old problem of the language arts will remain when there are five billion communication devices and no international language for communication between the people using the devices. Think of the eighty year old Ogden's B.A.S.I.C. English as being the Android of international languages(for people).

Dear +Niantic Project and +Ingress,
   I have really enjoyed my time playing Ingress.  I've met great friends, learned more about my city and other cities, and developed skills that I wouldn't have otherwise.  I've spent months becoming L8, planning local and regional operations, defending Cahokia Mounds, providing Intel support for my fellow Enlightened, learning about my area,  and trying to be a positive role model for my fellow Enlightened and Resistance players in my area. But I am about to quit because I can see the future.  This will no longer be fun and let me explain why.

Global Warming has always been an area of science I've been open (but skeptical) about. For one: Scientists have seen warming on Mars, Neptune, Pluto, and other bodies in the solar system that mimics the impact seen here at Earth. While I do agree that we have impacted the world in a negative way (just look at what China is doing to the shark population) I'm not entirely sure that humans are to blame for all of the climate change taking place.

Think about it this way. Plants thrive in a carbon dioxide rich environment. They thrive because it's what plants need to live and grow. Because plants thrive, oxygen becomes more abundant. If you ask me, the problem is that we've replaced lush forests with concrete slabs. If we do more to encourage the proliferation of plant life within cities, perhaps our carbon levels would drop a bit.
