Jens “Google Plus Yoda” Graikowski579,117HANGOUT FOR THE FIRST F1 GRAND PRIX OF THE SEASONLast year we did several "Formula 1 Race hangouts" and though I'd have wished attendance to have been a bit higher, we had great fun with the few who did come. This year (after G+ has settled down a bit) I hope that we get a few more peeps to watch the races together with us. Here is how it works:➢ We all watch the race on our own individual TV sets. There is not going to be a race broadcast in the hangout for several reasons.▸ A broadcast would take over the hangouts audio and would make it impossible for us to talk.▸ It means, we can all watch the race in the language we prefer (in my case it's German).▸ The broadcast would take up a hangout spot. I'd rather have one of you guys there.➢ I'll invite participants in two steps.▸ About an hour before the race starts (find out here, when exactly that will be in your time zone: http://bit.ly/Ynm5nT) I will invite all of those of the "Google+ Paddock Club". ▸ Just before the race I will invite my Formula 1 circle.GET YOU GOOGLE+ PADDOCK CLUB PASS!So if you want to make sure, that you get a spot, join the "G+PC"! To join the club you can either click on "Going" at this event or +1 the second comment at this post: http://bit.ly/ZfYUhL. Either way you'll be added to the "G+PC" circle.I'd also like your ideas on how to make the Formula 1 Race Hangout more interesting.Formula 1 Race Hangout - Melbourne/Australia2013-03-17 07:00:0048

Meilani MacDonald9,465Social Media and Marketing CircleA couple of days ago I wrote this great long post about having goals and reaching for them here on Google+. I mentioned several people in that post who I had watched and learned from.  Folks who make the best posts, from which I learned so much about marketing, social media networking, and business in general. I want to share these gems with you. This is my social media and marketing circle. Many of the people in this circle are professional social media or Internet marketers. Some use a specific medium for their marketing, such as video, or press releases, for example. Some of them are just folks that are doing such a great job of marketing themselves that I added them to the circle as people to watch and learn from. There are just a few included who are not active here on G+, but they are more active on FB where I follow their posts, and since I want to encourage them to come to the light side and share their great stuff with us here, I still included them. Whether you want to learn the principals of social media and Internet marketing yourself, or you're thinking about hiring someone to do your social media and/or Internet marketing tasks, this is a good place to start. #socialmedia   #marketing   #sharedcircles   #business  2013-02-06 23:14:39209628

Johnny Johnsen5,985#F1Johnny  Circle :I have had some Formula 1 circles this season. Some from them from the one and only +Jens Graikowski  , some from others and some i have made myself. The things that matters for me is that the person in this circle is above average interested in Formula 1. If you do not get many (sometimes to much) post about Formula 1, you are probably in my "Motorsport " circle or or another one :)I want the person in this circle to feel that he or she belong there. If you want to be there but isn`t. Notify me !If you are in there and think this is to much Johnny !!!!! Notify me !  :-)Now Googla is on fire with "Communities" and this is great news for usFormula 1 fans. Now we can move in to the #F1 #Communities and just chat about Formula 1 all winter :-)Here are the links to the one i`m in :  http://bit.ly/VEMMJhhttp://bit.ly/TRWt1PI will also post and share my Formula 1 circle and my Motorsport circle.I hope that Formula 1 2013 season will be THE season for F1 followers on Google Plus. I think communities and the fact that it is so many more members here at the start of the season will make this to a great team.Google Plus will crush FB and be a good addition to Twitter in 2013 season :-)98,5 days left to the start ;)PS: If there is a lot of spelling mistakes, the reason is that Google Translate is not at work today :-)Have a great wintertime, and a fantastic Christmas.Johnny2012-12-08 17:42:33302805
Jens „Google Plus Yoda“ Graikowski10,635Last share of the F1 circle (Part two) ...As I have completely changed my circle system and am working exclusively with my "Interaction Ladder" (http://bit.ly/VfSrjs) for incoming and my "Targeted Circles" (http://bit.ly/XSXBoR) for outgoing traffic I have decided to delete even my last themed circle, the #FormulaOne  circle.I believe that creating a #Formula1  community via a circle is impractical and cumbersome. A #GooglePlusPage  is better suited for this endeavour, so if you want to be part of a large #F1 community I recommend you try some of the pages around, like +F1 Circle (the page that belongs to this circle) or +Formula 1 Fans. I will share this circle in two parts (One of the reason that it is cumbersome. You can't share circles larger than 500) so it doesn't get lost for those who are still interested in it. I will delete it from my circles afterwards. This is part two with F1 aficionados from M to Z. You'll find part one further down in my stream.Don't get me wrong! I'll keep on posting about the F1 and I'll do so publicly. You can still all read my Formula 1 posts. If you'd like to be notified of them I'll gladly add you to my Formula 1 targeted circle. Just +1 the first comment underneath this post!I hope we'll all enjoy the last race of the season 2012 and am looking forward to see you all again in 2013.And now go and share this circle all over the place, will ya!Greez,+Jens Graikowski ***************************************************************** #jgformula12012-11-22 23:06:413141048
Lee Smallwood17,450For my Friday #CircleShare  this week, I wanted to intro you to a small circle of people I couldn't be without here on G+. They not just a bunch of typical people, but are personalities that have fantastic opinions and ideals. Some you may know already and some you might not ... but either way you should get to know them better. They enrich my stream here on G+ and I know that the engagement you'll have with them will brighten up your day.The only thing I would like to increase is the amount of time I have to spend with them... #dunbarCircle  2012-10-26 15:31:1515730319
Lee Smallwood16,997This is the first time I'm sharing this circle - It's my #Dunbar  circlehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunbar's_numberThey're quite an eclectic bunch (which is why I can't do without their content and banter) on a day-to-day basis. If you haven't met them on G+ yet - be sure to say hello to them :)As a follow up to this, create a #DunbarCircle  and add a link in the comments below - for the people you couldn't do without.NOTE No precise value has been proposed for Dunbar's number. It has been proposed to lie between 100 and 230, with a commonly used value of 150So you can decide how many plussers are in yours :) #circleshare  2012-10-12 16:18:1715048525

Gideon Rosenblatt18,624Engagement CircleThis is my first sharing of this Engagement Circle since it was recently featured on Mashable (http://mashable.com/2012/08/21/google-circles-marketers/). Here's how Mashable described it:Offering your audience an engaging experience no matter which channel you’re reaching them on is the sign of a successful campaign. This Google+ circle is a collection of experts focused on engagement, as curated by Gideon Rosenblatt. Following this circle will give you updates about relationship marketing, relationship management, community management, engagement technologies, and civic engagement. The circle they pointed to was my first iteration of it from back in February when it included just 80 people. It now has 402 (I included myself), and the Mashable description is still pretty accurate. You'll also find lots of SEO folks here and marketers. I've drawn a distinction, which may go away at some point, between my "Engagement Circle" and my "Social Networks and Social Media Circle." Not that these two should truly be separated, but the social grouping was so rich I decided to break it out into its own circle. I'll share that one again soon. Who Should Add this Circle? This is a big circle, so not everyone will want to add it whole. Some of you will want to use it to pick and choose new folks to your already existing circles. If you're new on Google+, and you're into the field of marketing and engagement, this is a great way to power up your stream with some interesting content.Getting Into this CirclePart of me really loves sharing the circles I curate because it helps me connect with new people and also because it helps connect other people who need to find each other. The part I really don't like is when people get insulted that I didn't think to include them or whine. Please don't do that. If you think you should be in this circle, or think of others who should be in it - please just add a comment. This is a judgement call on my part. That's just the way it works because I'm the guy who has to deal with the flow of content from the people I add. Please be understanding of that. Sometimes I make mistakes. You will likely find a few people who I added to this circle by mistake for some reason. Sorry. That happens, and it helps if you let me know (discretely, so as not to upset or embarace that person). Generally speaking though, this is a high quality, large circle. Thanks in advance to all the great people already in this circle they really do make for a much richer experience for me here on Google+. I hope you'll enjoy them too. 2012-09-02 14:56:25402312549

Jens „Google Plus Yoda“ Graikowski4,830the SUPER F1 CIRCLE (first installment) ...here it finally is! ... the collective effort of hundreds of F1 buffs all over the world ... the SUPER F1 CIRCLE! ...this circle started some time ago with three guys roaming G+ on the search for #formula1 fans ... +Brian Titus +Max Huijgen and my humble self put everybody who posted #F1 posts or commented on them in a circle and this circle has been circulating (you see what i did there, don't you? ... circle? ... circulating? ... no? ... well, never mind!) G+ for weeks and months now ... now we went one step further ... in one of my last posts i asked all members of the circle to send me their's, since it was probable that they had some #foreveralone aficionados in their private F1 circle that weren't yet in ours ... and there were! ... our SUPER F1 CIRCLE has grown to impressive 593 members! ... since i can only share 500 in a circle, this is the first installment ...the next installment will follow in a second, but there might be a problem ... since google in its infinite wisdom decided to make every movement in your circles a circle addition i can't split the circle properly ... i tried to and because i had moved some of the F1 buffs around already, my circle page told me that i had exceeded my limit to add people to my circles ... i had only added about 20 but since i moved hundreds from one circle to another i was told off ... well, that is the subject for another post ...anyway, i'll share the second installment in a sec, but there might be some doubles ... that doesn't matter though if you just add the second circle to the first ... doubles will automatically ignored then ...if you still have your ow F1 circle, send it to me (share it with just me) ... i will add to the next update then ... like this we should be able to collect the majority of the F1 buffs in one all encompassing circle ... thx for your collaboration! ...please don't forget to share this post publicly! ... we want to reach every F1 fan out there and we can only do that with your help! ... and don't forget, we are going to start our formula 1 race hangout at around 6pm GMT! ... you better reserve yourself a spot ... read more here http://bit.ly/Lg58Xj ! ...greez,+Jens Graikowski ...************************************************************************permalink to this post: http://bit.ly/KJbun4 ... #jgformula1  if you'd like to be notified about these kinds of posts, please read http://bit.ly/JPJxor ... if, on the other hand you are already receiving these notifications and would rather not anymore, please let me know in a PM (no questions asked) ...2012-06-10 15:52:2850116412

Jens „Google Plus Yoda“ Graikowski3,652newest version of our #F1 circle ...updated on the saturday, the 14th of april 2012» honey, they're here!+Max Huijgen has finally shared his eagerly anticipated #formulaone circle ... just in time for the race weekend in china ... i added it to our already existing circle and we gained a whopping 96 new members! ... thx to his excellent work our circle is now 344 #formula1 buffs strong! ... that's impressive, though there must be more out there ... please share this circle publicly, so we can find them all! ... if you are reading this and are not yet included in the circle, but would like to be, give me a shout in the comments! ...» who are we?originally this circle was curated by +Brian Titus (with a bit of a helping hand by myself) to bring all the F1 fans at #googleplus together and discuss our favorite subject ... we have our own +page too, called +F1 Circle ... don't forget to add it! ... apart from discussing the news around the formula 1 circus we'd like to do more though ... i for example will invite the whole circle to a hangout at every #race (if i can't or won't watch a race, like bahrain, we'll find somebody else who starts the hangout) ... like this, we can watch the #grandprix together (it's always nicer in good company) ... if you have some other great ideas about activities, that could make our little circle more interesting, let me or +Brian Titus or +Max Huijgen know! ...and now, let's all have a great time together! ...greez,+Jens Graikowski ...****************************************************************************** #jgformula12012-04-14 18:59:363441007
Max Huijgen20,565Will Rob Smedley start driving the Ferrari himself? An F1 circle of fans!A few weeks ago I started collecting people who are real fans of F1. Now crowd sourcing has the disadvantage that there are always people who want to be in a circle no matter the subject. I have taken my time to go through comments and posts all over G+ and came up with the following hard core fans. Now I´m pretty sure there must be much more and I will gladly add you if you have a clue about the post titlle :)Now, there is already a +F1 Circle and +Jens Graikowski and +Brian Titus have been curating this. Last year +Kol Tregaskes and I made the same effort. The goal is of course to get to one circle to rule them all ;)It makes no sense at all to have fragmented circles so I checked mine against the existing ones and found 98 new names compared to the latest shard one, so that´s good news. Before I merge I want to be sure we have as many people who really love #F1 as possible and avoid taking on board too many people who just want to be in. If you already have the latest circle you can just add this one to it to win the 98 new ones. What I hope for however is that we will find even more F1 fans thanks to this post and that I can share an even larger one next time. So if you´re in it and feel others are forgotten please mention them. Oh, and if you don´t want to be notified just say so, and I make sure someone else can be on the selected list for notifications.2012-04-14 14:56:1417056622
Jens „Google Plus Yoda“ Graikowski3,553newest version of our #F1 circle ...if you are a #formula1 buff, this might interest you ... a circle of birds-of-a-feather ... these are either people whom i've found all over G+ commenting and posting about the #formulaone , or peeps who specifically asked to be added to the circle ... being in this circle is fun! ... if you are interested in formula one you'll find fellow fans here ... there are always interesting, sometimes even heated, discussions going on ... we organise hangouts at #race weekends, to watch the #grandprix together ... if you'd like to be added, you can either add yourself and share the circle on, or just let me know in a comment at this, the original post, and i'll add you to the next up date (we do them regularly) ... also if you'd like to be taken out of the circle, please let know ...we are 230 strong now, but this can not be every F1 fan on G+, so please help us find the rest! ... add your own F1 followers, but don't share this circle only with your formula 1 peeps ... please share it publicly, so we can reach every living soul here on G+ (and of course all the ghosts too) ... #jgformula12012-04-05 16:40:4423017137
Paul Gailey Alburquerque529Outreach InboundRead on for a suggestion how you can make Inbound more cool.Enlarged Circle of Inbound MembersA few months back I originally shared out this Circle of the top 50 Inbound members.Of course the list changes and so does the opportunity to welcome new people to inbound.orgThe enlarged Circle is contained here although note it is only visible/manageable from a full PC/Mac browser and not from mobile access. The Fat slice challengeSince the January launch of Inbound.org I've been interested in the share pie evolution of the community mmkt.in/inboundsharepieThe largest category at launch and therefore segment of that pie was, unsurprisngly, SEO.It has since shrunk from it's peak of 29% as a proportion of the overall category pie.Alas these are not Karma weighted share of categories, just simple submission arithmetic, however I still think it would be cool to see that dominating proportion shrink more so as other content categories become populated by new contributors. And that's the point of this post on Google Plus: Everyone can attract a new member. Allow me to suggest how.Tag 'n Tell to Outreach InboundSo here's the deal. Do you want to see more cool content on inbound.org ?Want to see more content from new contributors?More content diversity, and not just the usual suspects or sources? If yes, then let's play as follows.1. Comment here and briefly explain how Inbound has made a difference to you. Maybe it's a technique that you have applied or benefitted from. Perhaps an awesome discovery, person, company, case study, Hottest item, whatever that has really moved the needle for you or your clients. Something that made you go YES!2. Tag at least two people who you think are not yet active on inbound.org People who you think would make brilliant contributors. Other marketers who create or share amazing stuff. This is their invitation to join in so everyone can win.Twitter ListFinally, if Google Plus is not yet floating your boat (hell WTF not?) here is a public Twitter list from the top 50 Inbound members: mmkt.in/inboundersSo here goes, this is my Tag 'n Tell for Inbound Outreach:1. I've made some fantastic introductions via Inbound with some fine minds and now have an excellent noise filter to draw on. Thank you to all of you. It is everyone who commented on the original post with their two things. Why am I sharing it? Because these people were all willing to share stories about themselves and to include other people. I am sure in a thread that long that I may have missed some people and it is not a circle of 500 because people like me commented more than once. If you enjoyed what you read and want to add everyone at once, this is the circle. I named it Sean Cowen's Best Post circle. Also, if you are looking for your comment in that thread, or of someone else's: to find in this long string of comments, open the post in a seperate window, and then do a Find on this Page.cc: +CircleCount +Public Circles +Circle Plus +Shared Circles on G+2012-03-20 16:30:07280331733

Paul Gailey Alburquerque159Here is a #gplus Circle of the Top 50 Members of Inbound.org This Circle is manually created from http://inbound.org/top-members as of 20th February 2012. Ideally I would prefer to see, in addition to this, at least an all Members circle but that's not possible based on the available public information. On the whole I've been pretty stoked about the content shared by the Community which supplements, albeit overlaps a little, with Twitter, although I do confess I was hopeful of more debate in the threads.Personally I find that the composition of the share pie http://mmkt.in/inboundsharepie still leans too much towards pure SEO (at 29%) although that's understandable based on the seed list. However it is somewhat short on those areas that so much pro SEO opinion has deemed important in 2012+ I'm referring to the Categories of Video, Local, Mobile.I think it would also be welcome for Members to exert their attraction charms to bring other marketing professionals onboard in those categories where the numbers are relatively low.I'm hopeful the Community will evolve onwards & upwards as will the functions and integrations of the site. Thanks to all of you.Paul2012-02-20 22:48:2850101510

Catch 22 Inbox fail.... I requested an invite via my apps domain email and they send me one. I try to login and it says I can only do so with a pure Gmail account. So I try that and it denies me access because I don't have an invite on that account. And I can't invite myself for the Gmail account until I login.

5 fingered blue face lady seems to just have shown me the middle one. On today, of all days for me as a slightly unhappy birthday notification.

I'm still amazed how parsimonious some Android users are towards developers who toil very hard to produce apps.

Future of Talon and Android L

If you have been following my work with the L version of Talon, then you knew that this was coming, so just to start it off here, I will say this:

The L version of Talon will remain Android L and above only, it will not be coming to KitKat or below. It will be released as a seperate, paid app ($3.99) on the Play Store.

Some of you will hate me for this, that I know, so here are some of my reasons/ideals as to why this will be the case:

Ability to Support the Classic Talon
With computers being controlled by programmers, there are of course some very powerful things that can be done with them for coding purposes. One of those things is version control. It allows me to merge features between current and older versions of our apps. I don't have to manually move one feature from one version of the app to the other. This is pretty key because it means I can easily support not only the new Android L version of the app, but its older brother as well, the classic version of Talon.

They will continue to have similar features, and new features put into one version, will make their way to the other version with just a few keystrokes. So it isn't like the original will ever be lacking or stop receiving updates. It will continue to be supported just as well as Android L's version.

I also have no plans of revoking the tokens on Android L's preview version. So hey, if that one works well enough for you, go right ahead and continue with it, I see no reason to stop that.

By creating a new application, I create a new set of tokens. I feel as though this app has deviated plenty from the original to justify this. With that new set if 100,000 tokens, I will continue adding new features and provide updates at the rate you have become accustomed to with our apps (extremely fast IMHO). As I add new features, both apps will continue to grow and blossom, even after the classic versions tokens have been exhausted.

With a new application, I am able to provide the best support to the entire Talon user space. To me, this is a key point and what differentiates my app - a twitter client with a limited amount of users - from other apps in the market. For better or worse, Twitter app development will always be different than other types of apps on the store because of their token limit. Better because we want to provide the fastest growing and best experience in a limited time, and worse because our revenue can be cut to absolutely nothing in a matter of seconds, changing the way you think about your application.

And no, I do not know how many tokens I have available for the classic version. Twitter does tell me anywhere and I do not have any numbers on the piracy of Talon.

Software Patterns
This one has been toying at the back of my mind for quite some time now, and it is probably the one that people will get mad at me about. It is also something that I am quite sure other developers feel the same way about.

When the second generation of your favorite video game comes out, will you expect to get that for free? Do you have to buy the new version of Office every few years when it gets an update?

You might say that these programs are bigger than mine and warrant the new price. You might say mine is too much of a niche program for this type of thing. I disagree. I work just as hard as them on it, if not harder. I am a 20 year old college student balancing class, extra-curricular activities, and managing my own business. I don't have free time, what little time I do have is spent on my computer answering emails and getting back to customers. Every day, as our apps grow more and more, it gets harder and harder to manage these things. It isn't like this remake of Talon has taken me a few hours, this has been months of work and perfecting. It has been worth every second so far though.

When you buy a program for your computer, you expect to have to pay for major upgrades. This is something any developer would love to see in mobile, but it also completely against what mobile apps have been since their inception, with a few exceptions in iOS (Tweetbot being one of them). This is the way the Android L update of Talon will work though and I am not scared of breaking the trend.

Design and User Experience
Google releases new version of their OS because they are better. They have new features and complete other features. Developers have new toys to play with and new looks to compliment. With Android L and material design, it is pretty obvious that this is the case. With L, apps will be more efficent, powerful, and stylish. This is obviously a pretty special case with L. It is a game changer and by far the biggest update Android has ever seen.

Material design is the future of Android, but it is much more than just spicing up the user interface. It is about designing apps that anyone can use, that not only look good, but feel good and work well too. The Material Design guidelines aren't just about changing the look of your app, they are about re-imagining what is possible in your app and how the user interacts with those possibilites, and that, in my opinion, is pretty exciting.

By supporting all the older version of Android - when there is such a major leap between KitKat and L - you are creating a fragmented (and Android hates this word...) experience, not all users will enjoy your app the way you want them too or the way it is designed (Ex: KitKat's new transparency or L's material theme and animation capabilities). With the gap as large as it is, that isn't something I think users should deal with when using Talon. The experience should be consistent no matter what device you have.

New API's
I kind of talked about this in the above section, but with a new Android, it isn't just new styles and looks, the backend of your apps can change dramatically as well. With the hundreds of new API's Google has released for Android L, so many new things are possible that couldn't be done before. It goes back to the consitent experience again and what developers can do with their toys. I read somewhere that there are over 5,000 new APIs in the preview alone.

Userspace
With the current version of Talon, Google Play provides numerous usage statistics that developers can take advantage of. Talon is sitting at 85% of it's users on KitKat or above. This is an astounding number to me, but makes sense. The people using our apps, want power and functionality. They get that with the latest and greatest. So I am not so scared of the adoption rate of Android L. The latest KitKat numbers are showing that manufactures are updating, and that is great for both users and developers.

I like to think that Klinker App's users are some of the most advanced on Android, and these numbers and adoption rate go to support that theory.

So, put yourself in a developers shoes, think about our work and what we do, then you decide if the upgrade is worth it. If not, then don't get the L version of Talon, let someone else enjoy it instead. Boycott me, flame me all you want, I think I will have just as many people understanding the workers side of it as not caring about our side of it. I always find it astounding when people email us or post a reveiw asking why this or that isn't free and why they should have to pay for it. I'm not sure, but most don't work for free.

You bought it once already? Thank you so much for the support, it really does mean a lot that we have so many awesome users, but this isn't the same app you have used in the past and you will notice that right off the bat when you start using it. The new version of Talon will be a paid upgrade.

I love what I have done and I hope you agree. Before Android L's release, I will continue to add new features, clean up and improve existing ones, and squash any of the bugs I can find. Pictures don't do this app justice... You really have to feel it to experience it.

Wow... That was a long post, if you made it through, thank you and I hope that you see and agree with the vision that I have for this app.

If you don't agree or see my vision, I have no doubt more than a few will be willing to voice that displeasure.

Talon has a bright future and I couldn't be more excited about where this is going :) I have quite a few nifty tricks that I have made for both this version and the classic talon that you guys will be seeing soon!

err, hang on a second....my understanding is that the wings on a bicycle is a reference to those aviation and calculations derived from attaching, somewhat less romantically and bravely than the shown clip, that of small scale wings on a horizontally rotating wheel to a handlebar of a standard bicycle, to allow all those calculations which thereafter would govern the design of their scaled wings of their prototype flying machines.

Of course the dramatic footage of man pushing pilot on a bike with mad wings attached to it makes for a more convenient film than a mundane still image of an odd looking ordinary bicycle.

Please, historians if I am wrong, I welcome your rebuttal. Did the Wright brothers do that?

If only we could edit as pithily in the real world, all that effort between the vision and the delivery part.

I've been working on a project the best part of 9 months that once complete will have a similar one sentence sense of accomplishment and is professionally significant but let's not forget the toil that goes on in between the idea and the delivery of any project.

Check out the NASA background info about the bike test it: http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/k-12/airplane/wrights/biketest.html

Dream big, Zag, Dare, Challenge, Fail fast, Get up, Try again....yep all that resonates....and in between, knuckle down when you have to.

I'm allowed to reshare this.

So can you, and you won't be billed.

At least not in the £ € $ sense.

It's not "sharing"

When you provide a service like letting someone use your home or driving somebody around in your car for money it's not "sharing," it's "commerce."

Which is not to pass judgement on the merits of Uber or Airbnb, but to voraciously call out the Orwellian bullshit which is the phrase "the sharing economy."  And it makes me throw up in my mouth a little to see TechCrunch not only buy into this marketing slight-of-hand, but to add insult to injury by illustrating an article about Uber and Airbnb with the Creative Commons logo.

I like to cook, and when I invite you to dinner you can expect that I'll share my food with you - which means I won't be presenting you with a bill after dessert.___I'm allowed to reshare this.

Lost a tabby?

My #caturday story of Tsavo.

So a couple of months ago, this cat adopted my family. In the ten years I've lived here, cats come and go but this one wasn't a street cat. He had obviously had some people contact and wanted more.

Trouble was my other car, Mara was not accepting of him. She's 13 year old female Birman and didn't take kindly to an enthusiastic 7 month or so old kitten. She hisses continuously at him and tries to defend her territory. She was even a bit like that when her brother Maasai became elderly and died a couple of years ago.

There seems no reconciliation possible. Besides, Tsavo, like other young cats, has bat shit crazy episodes late at night and Mara cannot hack it. This morning he drew blood on my toe in bed. I'm not best happy either.

I expected to find a missing cat poster locally because it's obvious Tsavo has been lost and a week ago a note did turn up in a local shop with a picture of him, missing "since may 2014"....alas the telephone number on the missing poster is wrong and all efforts to trace the person have failed. So far.

We even put a sign next to the ad in the shop window , telling the owner to call us.... Nada.

So what's next?

*Can I find the natural owner and why should I bother? *

Well years ago, Mara was kidnapped (yes, purebred and all that) and taken from London to Swindon, tried to escape and was runover by a car and hip shattered. After being injured and whilst in recovery she tried to escape her captives and landed in the back garden of the local magistrate. That was one reason I couldn't sue the couple who stole her as the judge became an inadvertent witness. The detective I used resorted to all sorts of subterfuge to find the cat and the vets who treated her, had to take legal advice and lie to me on the phone about her "owners" because the cat was registered in my wife's maiden name and we didn't change it after we married. Lawyers told the vets it could be a complicated divorce thing so they bullshitted me. The police weren't interested, because cats in law in the UK are free spirits and don't belong to anyone, except they were forced to act because I was reporting a stolen microchip and not a cat. It just so happened the microchip was embedded in the cat. Course the RSPCA were concerned because the beast was held against her will and in distress. Big brother TV producers neighbours in West London became interested in a featuring the whole story, 'have you seen this cat?' innocuous doorknock enquiry led to all sorts of offers (i know people in militant animal circles who can do things with bricks through windows type offers).... eventually gay couple in Swindon surrendered the cat when PC plod marched in with a RSPCA officer and scanner in hand one early morning. Gay couple, who flatly denied over the phone they had her, got cuffed and a caution and their school headmaster reprimand embarrassed them so told.... Mara made it back to Spain eventually although this was soon after September 11th and all the titanium in her hips set the security airport guards on all sorts of bomb alerts as she went through the scanner. Did I mention at the time a Buddhist lodger was at the time caring for my cats at the time? She had a faith spasm moment knowing it Mara lost/stolen because Birman cats are sacred for Buddhists...

Anyway... in a karmic sort of way, I know the owner of Tsavo (it's a Kenyan thing I have a fondness of...) would surely like to be reunited with their cat.

If I could recover my cat whilst living in Spain when it was lost in UK, i'm sure I can locate the owner of #Tsavo.

In the lost cat note in the window is a mention that he has a stomach scar from an operation. Although I can't see a scar, I do remember he had fur removed on the paw, a sure sign he was operated on by a vet at some point. I've contacted a local vet so far to see if I can trace the owner. No luck so far....only a question of time.
