Rhododendrons - June 2009, Retezat Mountains, Romania
Now that I have more experience and I know few more things about photography that in 2009, I wish I could go back in time and retake some of the images that I shot in that trip.

Nature vs. human - sterile mountain at Rosia Poieni open copper-mine pit. Metaliferi Mountains, Romania, May 2013. The weather elements carve the sterile producing some very photogenic scenes. Here the human impact on the nature is clearly visible, at the limit between the copper mining sterile and the original landscape. What is not visible here is the decantation lake, which is full of mud and toxic waters.

Here there is an interesting phenomenon. The shapes sculptured by the wind are the shade of a valley. There are lighted from the left, hence the brighter and whiter light, by reflected light from the snow on a ridge in the left. In the right side, another ridge is blocking the sunlight from entering the valley.

Autumn moment - Bad weather can bring such short moments that last only few seconds. Here I was at the right time in the right place because we made a longer break on the trail. In a strange light - The light here is a little strange and unusual for us. It lasted only few minutes and it is produced only when the sun is low at sunrise and the light is filtered through the clouds.

Paint the world - "Crovuri" place in Mehedinti Mountains, Romania. These are smaller mountains, just above 1000 meters, but they are a very special place due to the beautiful limestone formations, the strange beech trees and pine trees, their steep walls and meadows above. Gaining ground - solo Pinus mugo, probably will extend on the ground here in the next years if it won't be bothered. It is a protected specie, unfortunately the shepherds are still burning them for stopping their growing, so they won't loose their pasture grounds in the mountains.

Isolation - ... Isolated, but we where very alive on this remote beach (Horseid) from Lofoten Islands. I still have in mind the sensations there: the cold, the moisture, the wind. My friends were very tired after we spent few days chasing the midnight sun, for photography. I wasn't feeling tired yet because I was still very enthusiastic about the trail that got us here!

Tangled forest - Pine tress in Stora Sjöfallet National Park, Sweden. This a blend of two exposures(images).

Moskenesøya mountains - The highest peak in site is Hermannsdalstinden. It is the highest mountain on the island of Moskenesøya, 1,029m.

Night creature - Old pine trees from Sweden, Laponia, in the National Park Stora Sjofallet, July 2012. The pine tree forest there is incredible. There are very old pine trees, dead or alive, in various and twisted shapes. At each step in the wood there you discover something interesting. Either if there are twisted tree branches, colored lichens or rocks.
