Last year we showed Glass to the world for the first time - we jumped out of airships, crashed New York Fashion Week and even took a ride on the subway. It’s been an exhilarating journey so far and there’s a lot more to come, but we can’t go it alone. We’re developing new technology that is designed to be unobtrusive and liberating, and so far we’ve only scratched the surface of the true potential of Glass.

Now we want you to get involved and that’s why today we’re expanding our Glass Explorer Program. We’re looking for bold, creative individuals who want to join us and be a part of shaping the future of Glass. Glass is still in the early stages, so we expect there will be some twists and turns along the way. While we can’t promise everything will be perfect, we can promise it will be exciting.

Pablo Lobato

Pablo Lobato, born in Trelew, Patagonia Argentina in 1970, is a graphic designer and illustrator.
Not being very good at sports he used to spend long hours drawing superheros and medieval knights, instead of playing soccer like his friends.
In 1982 he drew his first portrait, an illustration of Cesar Luis Menotti, the coach of the national soccer team at that moment.

Everybody seemed to like it, so Pablo decided that this was his thing.
But he did not want to be a painter, he admired the artist Uderzo, not Cezanne, as Fine Arts was too much, but graphic design could be a good choice to keep on drawing while paying the bills...

Russ Mills was born in Exeter, Devon. UK in 1971, and was always interested in illustration, even from a very early age.
Graduated from Leeds Met University in 1995 after completing a BA in Graphic Art and Design, specializing in Experimental Film and Animation.
After finding gainful employment in various non-creative institutions went back to basics and began work with pen, pencil and computer.

Back in July 2010, more than a year before I joined Google, I wrote about my switch to +Android from iOS (http://goo.gl/T7rp). The major reasons? 1. Choice of phones, manufacturers and carriers. 2. Platform momentum in terms of quality and available apps. 3. Being a Web-centric platform rather than a desktop-centric one.

It's interesting to see others see the continued advances Android has made even while the competition remains strong. I am very glad I switched, and that others see the value as well. Nice article.

I can't make this stuff up

I'm sitting in a Starbucks doing random whatever over an iced americano. While I waiting for my drink, I watched a guy with his friend, pick up a newspaper; and start to remark on the Samsung Apple verdict.

Guy: "Wait, so what they're saying is, Samsung is the same as Apple?"
Friend: "I know, right? Makes me think twice about how much I paid for my Mac Book"
Guy: "Seriously"

Not 10 minutes later, a husband and wife, same newspaper:

Husband: "... Samsung's iPad is the same as Apple's iPad, and I paid how much for the Apple one? Honey, I told you they were a ripoff", after looking up the Samsung tablet on his iPhone.
Wife: "Oh wow," looking at the screen, "... that's a lot cheaper. Think we can return it?"
