Okay, this guy gives new meaning to the word “mohawk.” And no, this is not a velociraptor; it’s an emu. The emu is a very close relative of the ostrich and comes from Australia rather than Africa.

We all know the proverbial stereotype about ostriches, right? Ostriches like to hide their heads in the sand. People think of them as big, hulking birds that have lost the ability to fly— lost the ability to do what they were created to do. Like the human appendix, their wings appear at first glance to be vestiges of another evolutionary era. Utterly without grace, ostriches have become a symbol of cowardice and even silliness.

+Simon Malherbe wrote this very cool app that shows everyone who has interacted with a specified Google+ user over their last 100 posts. It is broken down by +1s, Shares, and Comments.

You can see who is publicly interacting with you most. Very cool. A little scary obviously, but cool nonetheless. The output actually bold and enlarges those with the most activity in each section so they stand out.

Warning: Users with mega-activity seem to overwhelm the interface a bit; unresponsive script errors. But for normal queries it works fantastic.

yeah. well. the whole iron man world is right descending on us here in Kona. it sucks seeing all these ridiculously healthy people running and biking and swimming around thinking they are all awesome and stuff when really they are just over exercised show offs with expensive clothing that they can't even wear ANYwhere else and all having the swagger and the leathery skin with wretched slim glasses that make them look like little stupid terminator spawn.

Don't share your dreams with just anyone or you may not get the response you want. Talking to too many people about your plans opens you up to other peoples opinions and agendas. Often you get the response that pertains to "them" not you. Don't wait for approval to live your dreams, just do it.

Google+ as your Blog (Concept using the G+ API)

UPDATE: Google API Quota seems to be hit already, sorry folks. You can still check out existing profiles, but cannot currently create your own (until quota resets tomorrow).

There has been a lot of talk by bloggers on Google+ about potentially moving a lot of their blogging across to this social media platform. Whilst there is (for some) a much more engaging audience here, it does not really double as a landing page for writers to onsell their services or to display talent (other than writing/photography). It is for this reason that most will probably still continue to post to their blog as well as Google+.
