I had the best dad moment tonight. tonight, my son played with Legos for the first time. He immediately understood the concept and starting building some sort of monstrosity as I picked up the excessive "work space" I had created while he was asleep. we moved to his duplo blocks and he built a huge tower that was structurally sound and started driving cars on it.

I am soo tired of the negative reviews that liken it to LOTR and say that it was't "serious enough" or was bloated. This was an introduction to a completely different tale, and if you came expecting the same tone or themes as LOTR then go watch those movies. The Hobbit was a children's tale!

The day before Thanksgiving, my mother died. 4 days ago, my Nexus 7 stopped working. Now, my wife’s wallet has been stolen along with our tickets to the Hobbit at the IMAX in 3D 48 FPS and all of our money. By all accounts, I should be down and out. I’m not.

I still have friends and family that I love and want to be surrounded by. I have a home, a car, a decent, albeit stressful, job. I’ll be able to recover, and a year from now I will be over most of this. The things can be replaced and the tickets can be repurchased.

Remember to always be thankful for what you have. You always have the chance to improve. You always have the ability to make the most of the greatest gift, Life.

How Microsoft could have really, really revolutionized the industry with the surface:
1. Wait a month and release the Surface Pro first. The expectation was that this wasn't a tablet but a computer. you know, like a real big boy one with full Windows legacy support. The release of the Windows RT version is lacking and will set a terrible precedent with initial public reaction. try explaining to your aunt or dad that the Windows 8 version and the windows RT version are different.

2.try to lower the price just a bit. I'm not shopping with anyone else's wallet, but I think the price point would be impossible to resist at $100-50 dollars cheaper.

3. Better marketing! While the commercials are wonderful and bright and all that, they don;t show it in use. the impression is, "hm, looks pretty, but not usable." show us people... more »

I'm halfway through +Gabriel Fitzpatrick 's #Rmnce and I am enraptured. Like all good works, it pulls you in. I'm eating it up so fast I'm getting mad at how slow adobe scrolls on Android.

I think the greatest thing I can say about its unique narrative is that I can't tell if this fiction or not. It uses the transcriptions of texts, emails, and phone conversations to show the development of a relationship, and I would completely believe Gabriel if she said this was a biographical account.

I'm still digesting it and I feel it will end well, so expect a full review later this evening.

So thank to the always awesome +Kasey Davis I have discovered two genres of music that I truly enjoy: ska and electro swing.

Ska isn't exactly an all the time kind of sound, but when I'm power through something or I'm already in a great mood then it is perfect.

Electro swing is something I can throw on and do my thing. I can game to it, write to it, drive to it. I thought it was a rare subset of music. I thought wrong.

Turns out there is quite a bit of French electro swing out there. I have discovered so much new music thanks to the electro swing revolution radio station on Tunein radio. The first thing I do is wake up to this station and I just feel so energized.

So thank you +Kasey Davis , you master archivist of excellent media. You have changed the dynamic of my life with your quality tastes!

Google has the best commercials. While Apple flaunts its latest devices and calls it's users idiots, and Microsoft uses edgy music to try to convince us that isn't a stuffy tyrant then slanders the competition, Google shows its products in use and how they connect us. 

We have the beautiful commercial with a father and his son enjoying their Nexus. We have the commercial showing how instant upload saved someone's collection of photos. Now we have the latest one showing how a father and daughter can still stay in touch while she goes to college.

Google is the type of company that makes products that they would want to use. Google is one of the few companies I can say is Good, in a moral sense. Call me a fan boy, call me a evangelist. I love Google and how much it has influenced my life for the better.
