+Alex Lapidus and +Linda Villers were down at the Air Force Academy this weekend where Alex was competing in the U.S. Diving Masters Nationals. It was very cool, except for the part about getting IN the AFA, which was a bit of an adventure - thanks Linda :-). Got to hang out a bit with +Christina Lihani and +Brian Lihani too, as well as Linda's parents, who are all awesome!

Anyway, this is a shot of the awards for the men's platform event. That would be Alex at the top of the podium with the GOLD bling around his neck. Congratulations Alex!

Peek-a-boo

I went out to Rocky Mountain Arsenal this morning, and I found a new resident in the "butcher block" tree right inside the entrance. A Great Horned Owl has set up housekeeping. The areas adjacent to the tree are now marked "no stopping", so I parked just past that boundary and got set up. I managed to get exactly two shots before some a$$hole pulled up right under the tree, jumped out and started shooting pictures with their phone. Needless to say, the owl left in a hurry, and I had the extreme urge to see how well my 100-400 worked as a club. Anyway, when I got home, I looked at the shots, and found an unexpected bonus peeking over a branch at me. :-)

Great Blue Heron Airways

I was kinda pissed at myself. I was walking around Tabor Lake, and blundered around a bend without paying attention and scared off two herons that were there. Fortunately, one of them decided to fly in a lazy circle around me, allowing me to get a few shots, before heading off to find a place with no idiot photographers.
