Friends cooling off

On our second day of the terrible(enjoyable) hike in copper Canyon in Mexico we came to the small town of El Tejebán.
Being thirsty as hell as the heat was rising rapidly we asked around for shop to buy some soda. Some boys playing around by the school pointed us to their home and said that their mother had a shop. This proofed to be a lucky thirst and move as we got guidance that probably saved us from huge trouble and learnt about the terrible El Loco and his misdeeds. This again led us away from being robbed at night by him but led us into even more danger and in the end straight into his arms. More about that later

Out side the home of the boys stood a jeep and in the shade from the jeep cooling of where these two friends the pig and the dog.

The day of the fisherman 

To day is the day of the fisherman in Iceland. Because of growing up in the small town of Neskaupstaður, Eeast Iceland, it has its place in my heart and mostly good memories from participating as a member of the school orchestra to not so good memories of being thrown into the sea at evening over to fantastic memories of my last fisherman weekend in Neskaupstadur when we  started one of the first punk band in East Iceland and played in concert that weekend in 1981 with Guðmundur Gísli Sigurðsson Ingvar Hrólfsson and Sigfús Hansson . A concert that ended in us getting life threats because of our behavior and the smashing of instruments.

Strange light in Guatemala

Our second wedding anniversary was spent by lake Atitlan in the town of San Pedro la laguna in Guatemala. Our daughter had come to visit us on the trip and that night I witnessed the strangest light I ever have seen. Shifting between pinkish and reddish it colored every thing.

Concepción Volcano and Lake Nicaragua

Suspension footbridge by Lake Yojoa in Honduras

Lake Yojoa is the largest lake in Honduras with a surface area of 285 square kilometers (110 mi²) and an average depth of 15 meters (50 ft). At an altitude of 700 meters (2,300 ft), it lies in a depression formed by volcanoes. The Lake Yojoa volcanic field consists of Pleistocene to Holocene scoria cones, craters, and lava flows.

The west side of the lake is bordered by steep mountains and Santa Bárbara National Park while the east side is adjacent to Cerro Azul Meambar National Park. The lake is situated on the highway that connects the two largest Honduran cities, Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula. For many people traveling between the cities, the lake serves as a rest area where they can appreciate the view and enjoy the fresh fried fish and other foods that are offered by the restaurants located on its banks.

Midnight on Mo mountain

This image is an HDR 5 image sequence exported from lightroom + 1 extra. The 5 images where combined in Nik HDR and then the extra image added on top in Photoshop before final treatment.

Art critic on Havmannen

Havmannen, or Havmann (in English: "The Man from the Sea") is a granite stone sculpture by the English artist Antony Gormley located in the city of Mo i Rana in Northern Norway. The sculpture stands proud in the "Ranfjord" in the city of Mo i Rana, which is often referred to in Norway as "Polarsirkelbyen" (in English: the "Arctic Circle City"). The sculpture is 11 metres (36 ft) tall, weighs 60 tonnes (59 long tons; 66 short tons), and is "forever up to his knees in water, turns his back on the town and gazes resolutely out over the fjord".

The artist originally envisaged the sculpture being created in steel, based on the traditional steel industry which was one of the pillars of industrial Mo i Rana, and placed in the fjord to illustrate the sharp contrasts between nature and industry. However, the local... more »
