This sun is killing me!
After 3 days in this home made kayak, we did not know how to hide from the sun. The 40ºC were easy to stand thanks to the water but there was no way to scape from the sun.

We spent a whole morning teasing chameleons with insects on sticks. This was real fun!

I am lime green!.
This was the first (well the second but the first was a bit shitty) real chameleon we saw in the wild. It was sooo exciting that we spent almost 30min taking photos of it. It was trying to cross the road when we stopped the car and checked him out. I still do not understand how our driver spotted him while driving.

Who are you?.
While kids in Madagascar were extremely excited to be in front of the camera and actually super curious to see themselves on the display, babies were shocked. They may have thought... who is that pale dude holding that extraterrestrial thing! Mama help!!!

Baobab Amoureux.
Some 7Km away from Allée des baobabs, we find the baobabs in love, 2 trees twisted together. The area has a small lake and it is full of wonderful trees, so there is so much more to see than these 2 guys.

Kid with wheel. Antsiraraka
This kid follow us to show us his game, basically an iron wheel and a stick to push it. He was a great model for our photos, until the gang of kids arrived and then we moved to group playing!

Allée des baobabs.
This is maybe the most photographed spot in Madagascar. We found it nice as it gives you an impression at a glance of the landscape, so there are tourists who just go there take a shot and continue with their lives. In my personal opinion there are other non-famous spots to see these trees in the area, far more interesting. 
We asked the locals how come they keep the baobabs while 95% of the jungle is gone in the island. The answer was that the wood of this trees was worth nothing so they do not even bother burning them as it happened all over the place.

My little Monsters
Tim was teaching the kids what to do if they ever meet Lady Gaga!
It was interesting to see that they actually know who Shakira is. They even sang the waka-waka to us!

Joy.
It was very easy to steal a smile from this kids. They live completely unaware of what is going on in the world. I am very happy I was part of their lives, even if that was just a matter of minutes!

Tsiribihina river
While investigating what to do in Madagascar I crashed into +Francois de Halleux photos: http://picturesfromearth.com/travel/madagascar/ and we decided we would definitely not miss the experience in the Tsiribihina  I never experienced such a heat and without sunscreen (we forgot it home) I lost 3 layers of skin in 2 days, but this said... the experience was definitely worth it. We have great memories of all the locals we found on the way and we managed to survive the crocs!

I can not describe just in words how much the eyes of this kid were telling us when we met him in western Madagascar. Temperatures there are high and they keep moving all year round following water sources to keep their herd of Zebus alive. It definitely is a tough life and I am sure that this is what he wanted to tell us with his sight.

Shopped sequence of brown lemur jumping.
4 images layered so that you can get a holistic view of these cute animals jumping from branch to branch.
We spent 2 good days trying to capture something like this and it really was fun. The sifakas and the brown lemurs where among the most playful ones. The Indri (the biggest lemur in the world) was just a bit lazy!

Easter Monday in Nosy Be
This is a special day for Malagasy people. They all head to the beach and the party gets started. It is very interesting to see how a beach that normally is crowded of white europeans drinking cocktails, gets back to their real owners! The little tourists that go to Madagascar did not dare going there and you could see them sitting in terraces having beer and looking at it from the distance. For +Tim Dallatomasina and I this obviously became a great photo-op and we spent the afternoon up and down the beach taking photos of this unusual view of the beaches in Nosy-Be.

We found this sign in Moramanga. Sign designs normally have this cultural implications, and I find it interesting to see the differences between countries.

The big guy.
This is the Parson's chameleon. The biggest of all chameleons reaching up to 68 cm (27 in) and it is the only chameleon with 2 horns, the rest have only 1. We found this one in the jungle of Andasibe and we could play with it a bit as well, while this one was heavier than his tiny cousin!

Tiny chamaleon
There are around 150 chamaleon species in Madagascar. A goal of our trip was to find this tiny guy. Its adult size really is this ~2cm +tail and they are super difficult to find if you are not used to it. Luckily our hiking guides were better trained than us and they spotted them so we could take some photos and play a bit with them... not sure they were that happy with that though ;)

Oliver Twist
The result of our first 4h in Madagascar is 1 Galaxy Nexus less.
Tim and I were walking back home after an exploration morning when a gang of begging kids surrendered us. First there was no problem, we just kept walking when I suddenly felt something on my back. The kids were ecquipped with either small knives, or razors, but I did not see it then. After a bit oif stalking us they were gone.
When we turned around the corner I realized about it and I have to admit I got a bit scared so we continued to the hotel when I saw the phone was gone.
Now we are laughing about it :-)
Other than this, we are havbing a great time and the weather is very good. Tomorrow we will go direction south-west in a river excursion for 5 days so no wifi or phone!

I am going to Madagascar... Yes, sir!
+Tim Dallatomasina and I are joining the lazy Lemur from tomorrow until April the 6th. 
Yes, I am going on holidays believe it or not ;)
I hope I will be able to relax, get a bit offline, take amazing photos, hike and live an adventure, and sit down on a beach for a while. 
It has been a very intense year since my last break and I believe it is time to charge batteries again... I am all excited of all the things that are waiting for me on my return but for now... MADAGASCAR

Lauberhorn Run
It is the first time I ski in the Jungfrau region and now my heart is split between Zermatt and Wengen!
The area is just beautiful with lots of fantastic runs and amazing wide views. This will be definitely a recurrent place from now on.

2/52 - Lemon-Sun. Swimming-Salmon. Spinach-River.
I always liked the combination of salmon with spinach so here you go.

The salmon
1.Marinate it 30min in house made basil-olive oil.
2.Put the salmon steak in aluminium foil with pepper and 2 slices of lemon. (No salt as it dries the fish. Add the salt after cooking)
3.Cook it for 20min at 200°C

The spinach
1.Add some water and using the turmix make a paste.
2.Filter the result so you get a dense liquid and get rid os the paste (note: that keeps the vitamins and minerals but removes most of the fiber, use the paste somewhere else like to fill a potato for example)
3.Warm the spinach juice in a pot
4.Add salt

Preparation
Add a nice piece of salmon on top of the spinach juice and top it with a very thin slice of fresh lemon.

1/52 - Quail egg on potatoe nest
1.Make a hole in a small potatoe
2.Add a drop of basil oil and some rosemary salt
3.Bake the potatoe in the oven.
4.When the potatoe is cooked, take it out from the oven and add the quail egg in the hole
5.Put it back to the oven for 2min
6.Serve it with a couple of salmon eggs on top

Concert de St.Esteve
This is the Traditional Christmas Concert of Catalunya. This year was very emotional as the croud spontaneously claimed Independence at the end of the concert.
Musically speaking, I specially enjoyed the performance of the young choir. The Catalan Orfeó performed later a compilation of catalan carols jazz-style.
