As MUC1 is found in 90 per cent of all cancers, the researchers believe it could be used to combat the growth and spread of a wide range of cancers.
In a safety trial at the Hadassah Medical Centre in Jerusalem, ten patients suffering from multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer, have now received the vaccine.

When I focus on the things I have, and not the things I have lost, it helps change my mentality, and reorient my thinking.
Making this mental list can help the body and mind to focus on the positive of what we have, and perhaps take for granted. This can help us find strength and move forward.

**What is a Friend?**
I spoke about how I felt about the word "love" ( http://bit.ly/I34s9N ) the other day. Now, I'd like to discuss the word, "friend". Your culture, background, and hard-wiring can have a lot to do with how you define what a friend is. It may be that we people on G+ want to define each other as friends against the rival Facebook, but I'd like to think we they mean "allies", but what do I know? I'm not attached to or against any technology. I'm against any "us versus them" paradigm. To each their own, however. I have no control over this war.
A friend to me is all of this....

Being Chronically ill has many challenges not excluding losing hope for making your dreams come true. This does not have to be the case. If before you became ill you had passions and dreams you should never give up on them. Doing so gives your illness power over you. You may have limitations and will have to modify how to obtain your dreams or follow your passions but that is something you can view as a challenge and overcoming that challenge is very empowering. Your dreams, hopes, and aspirations are YOURS and no one or nothing should ever take that away from you!

New research shows that sugar not only will give you diabetes and make you fat, but too much will cause cancer tumors to grow and fill your arteries with plaque that causes strokes and heart attacks.

Factory farming is nasty business, I tell you. A sudden rash of reports is beginning to reveal the horrible reality of industrial chicken farming.
A piece in The New York Times by +Nicholas Kristof points out that "poultry on factory farms are routinely fed caffeine, active ingredients of Tylenol and Benadryl, banned antibiotics and even arsenic." Scientists at Johns Hopkins University who studied the industry says "It’s unbelievable what we found."

Why caffeine? It turns out that chickens are fed coffee pulp to keep them awake all night so they keep eating and become fatter.

Happy Birthday Sophie Lancaster, had you lived you would be 25 this weekend
Since Sophie Lancaster's death on August 24th 2007, following the horrific attack on her and her partner Rob in Stubbeylee Park, Bacup, Lancashire. Where Rob was left in a coma and Sophie was stamped upon and kicked to death, simply because they dressed differently. Sophie and Rob dressed in their unique way, expressing their individuality as creative artistic people. In 2008 during sentencing the perpetrators Judge Anthony Russell QC said: "This was a hate crime against these completely harmless people targeted because their appearance was different to yours."
In tribute to the outgoing, bubbly girl who was denied the chance to live life her way,
