Hong Kong introduces first fully electric taxis
45 electric e6 cars made by BYD will be tested over the next six months in Hong Kong in an effort to reduce the cities pollution (linked to thousands of deaths per year). The running cost of a normal taxi is HK$0.8 and the new cars are expected to be around HK$0.2-0.3.
The specs of the e6 are ;
- 230+ km range
- 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in < 14 seconds
- Top speed: 140 km/h
- Quick charge: 50% capacity in 10 minutes
(The US version which should sell for ~$35,000 has a larger motor and better performance specifications)

The internet of things.
By 2015, six billion objects in the world will be connected to the internet.
We communicate with these objects and the objects communicate with us and each other. Increasingly, objects are also communicating with our body.

>During my conversation with Ori Inbar we cover a variety of interesting topics such as: the story behind his passion and motivation for augmented reality; the past and the present definition of augmented reality; differences between augmented reality, virtual reality and real reality; major applications for AR; the dangers and costs of militarization; O... more »
