QR Code Project     
     So a few Months ago, my team teacher and I wanted to play around with QR codes during a parent night.  Our 30 -  3rd grade students collectively wrote a Dr. Seuss inspired story, then built a hall-wide display of their illustrations for the book.  Using QR codes, parents and visitors were able to scan each part of the book to listen to their child read that part.  They could also scan a final QR code to listen to the story in its entirety.  
    Using the QR codes proved to be fairy easy.  First, we went to a website called vocaroo (www.vocaroo.com) and had the kids record their lines.  Then we copy/pasted the link that Vocaroo gave us into a Google doc that was set up to auto create the QR codes.  Vocaroo can give you a QR code, but using the google doc allowed us to sequence the codes and lines, and keep track of 30+ pieces of infoeasily.  The document is NOT one ... more »

Google Plus just updated it's interface and one of the big differences is that Hangouts are now separated and need to be enable in the dashboard.

I created a page on the +1 for Ed website that I will update as I learn more.

I am not able to use hangouts with the new interface.   Please help I am presenting this tomorrow. 

"hangouts has not been enabled for your account. Please contact your administrator to enable this service."

Neither Hangouts or Google Plus is an option to enable in my dashboard.

Unfotunatly the International teacher hangout/podcast I had planned to air thursday did not happen and will be rescheduled.   I recorded an episode 26 and published it to the rss feed which is a very quick Whats going on with EdListen episode.   I will publish it to www.edlisten.com this weekend after my conference.

gClassHub now allows multiple periods to be selected when launching scripts.  See screenshot below.

The resultant spreadsheet, when it includes students from multiple sections, is placed in multiple "Teacher" folders -- i.e. for each class selected.

This was a feature requested by many, including +Bjorn Behrendt himself, as a way of improving the efficiency with which teachers deploy a single script, like Doctopus, for exampe, where multiple sections might be doing the same assignment.

if podcasting refers to audio rss feed and blogging refers to written rss feed.  What is it called when creating either?

I am looking to start a graduate course, which I was going to call "Start a Blog", but I also want it to include the option for a podcast or video podcast.   I probably will come up with a different more catchy name, but it did get me thinking about what is the general term for posting to the internet in a way that includes a feed?
