It looks like my district will officially be able to roll out a 1:1 Chromebook program for Grade 3 through 5 next year (about 1,000 Chromebooks). We have been doing a small pilot this year, and I have tried my best to collect as many Chromebook resources as possible, but now we need to especially focus on the roll out / implementation portion.  I would love to see any websites / documents / presentations from schools about their roll out (I already have the fantastic resources from +Henry Thiele and +Ryan Bretag but would love to see others if you know of some). Thanks!

For those with 1:1 programs, what physical changes (furniture, classroom arrangements, etc.) have you made to take advantage of the devices and transform what is happening in the classroom? (As opposed to just putting 1:1 devices on student desks in the traditional rows and columns.)

When using shared Chromebooks for students (mobile cart at our middle school) it would be very helpful to track which student is using which Chromebook in case of misuse, damage, etc. I looked in the GAFE control panel but did not find a way to see who is logging into each Chromebook. Is this information there somewhere and I am missing it? It would seem that Google should be able to record each time a user logs into a Chromebook and then have an access log available per device.

If not from Google, is there a third party tool that does this?

In the meantime my solution is:
- I made a Google Form that simply asks the student to choose the number of the Chromebook they are logged into.
- I then added the Form to the list of web pages to open upon login.

+Bjorn Behrendt and +Andrew Stillman How about adding some optional blank columns to the spreadsheet that we can use for filtering purposes. This could be very useful when it is time to archive folders.  Here's what I am thinking...
I could use one of these optional filter columns to list the marking period for the course. In my district we have classes that last all year (marked AY), classes that are only one semester (marked SEM1 and SEM2), and classes that are only one 9-weeks long (marked MP1, MP2, MP3, and MP4).  So at the start of the year I could generate folders for the entire school for classes that are AY, SEM1, and MP1.  Well at the end of the first marking period, I now would like to archive off all the MP1 class folders.  If I have that column to sort by, it will be easy to select and archive those classes.
