#AutoAwesome is just awesome... It literally brought life to the old photos I clicked 9 years ago using a VGA camera. This is my elder son Dwij, with one of the many props I used to shoot a lot of pictures with him.

Had been away from Google+ for a long long time... Who is to blame? My work that now allowed comparatively less time for other activities, or the Tripod that I recently purchased and that was bulky enough to carry everytime but essential enough to miss... Anyways, this is my 2nd innings at Google+ & Photography

In the spirit of the epic release notes +Tony Stubblebine packages up with every new update to Lift, I thought I'd jot down some personal notes that capture my early design thinking that lead to the new #coverphoto and some of the profile enhancements that we launched today. Although the thinking and design evolved and was improved over time and iteration, I thought it worth considering where we started from.
So, take a step back and consider the larger picture (yep, keep going… wider — wider still!). Like similar social apps, +Google+ caters to a diverse constituency. Its strength and dexterity as a platform, however, comes from the fact that it serves publishers looking to broadcast widely — as well as those who speak to their audiences more selectively. And as Google's "social spine", it connects people across contexts through content, activities (i.e. with the launch o... more »

How to Save Old Versions of Google+ Posts
An year ago I started collecting the photography themes related hashtags on Google+. Starting with 66 themes the collection went as large as 265. But then due to some technical changes in how Google+ saved posts, it became impossible to store more than 100 links to curators' profile whereas the posts already had much more.. result, no changes to the post could be saved. After more than 5 months of its existance I decided to replace the original content of the mail with a "list discontinued" message.
Today, I got a message from a fellow G+er that he wanted to access that list, the one that was already gone. No problem, I said, and shared with him the previous version of the list. How? Let me explain you that in detail.
Ever noticed how the post contents are shared in G+? It goes like this

First of all I confess that I am not a chatty guy, I mean I don't love to chat a lot on the IMs and FB. It took me a long time to understand what LOL stands for and what ROFL exactly meant. I still like to write on my emails "please find attached" instead of PFA which most of my colleagues do. When I look back at how I got to know a few of the acronyms used on the messengers, it brings up a smile on my face.
A few years back, I had just started chatting, against my will as MS communicator was officially our communication channel. On one fine day I received a message on my communicator window from a senior that said:
Hi GM
Now, it was my time to get confused. During my tenure with a public sector bank, GM used to stand for General Manager which was one of the highest positions in the organisation. Why did he call me GM? I realized that asking is better than... more »

Another new feature on Google+: Communities... Having been away for long, I thought it has been weeks since the launch but no....
Google+ Hashtags, Pages, Events all features have been welcomed by Photography Enthusiasts and I don't think this feature would be an exception... Am already seeing communities for themes that were previously hashtags as Caturday... any other themes that already moved to communities?

Hi Everyone... I had been somewhat offline for a long period recently. During this period I wanted to post a message about the "Top 100 Themes" but missed doing that...
Around the beginning of this month, there was a small change in the results returned by the Google+ APIs which makes it difficult (in context of my current system) to differentiate between an original post and reshared one. Due to this change, the submission numbers would inflat for the themes mentioned in popular posts (high reshare count). To avoid coming up with a compromised report, I didnot start the tracking for month 7.
I had been planning a overhaul in the system for a long time, but it's still in plans and would take time to realize. Till the new system builds up, there would be no Top 100 themes report. Thanks for all the encouragement you gave me and which kept the report alive. I would try to... more »

Things we can learn from Noah's Ark
ONE: Don't miss the boat.
TWO: Remember that we are all in the same boat.
THREE: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
FOUR: Stay fit. When you're 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
FIVE: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
SIX: Build your future on high ground.
SEVEN: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
EIGHT: Speed isn't always an advantage... The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
NINE: When you're stressed, float awhile.
TEN: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
ELEVEN: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

Photography Theme #RemindsMeofSomething - Week 34
A few changes this week. #RemindsMeOfSaturday tag that this theme started with, had been more of a confusion all these weeks.
